Is there still really no way to use the Flash Player, whether embedded in a web page or as a projector, to record video files to a local directory on a user's computer?I understand that this is potentially a security nightmare, but I thought Adobe had worked around those issues.
What is the best (and simplest!) way to record video from a webcam to the local filesystem--all from a browser? Ideally the video would be recorded in HD and then we could use ffmpeg later to convert it into the formats and sizes needed.
Here are some things we've looked into:
Use Flash to stream to a local Red5 server. But we've had issues with video quality here. A Java applet using JMF (can we even write to the filesystem from an applet?). We've heard this might not be very efficient though. Can it handle HD? Write a custom Firefox plugin. Would this be very difficult?
Basically the hardest thing here is that the controls need to be embeddable into a browser. All we need is a box where the webcam frame is displayed to the user, and then some Javascript hooks so we can code start/stop buttons within the HTML page.
The computer is fully controlled (it's a kiosk) and we can do just about anything to it. We just need a solution that runs in the browser. Our current app is run in Firefox in kiosk mode and the webcam recording is just a part.
there is a way to record the stream of webcam without use media server or similars servers? with flash or air can do that? record both audio and video?i found a air class that record video capturing bitmap data of each frame and saves to a byte array but no record audio
I've been asked to write an app where I have to get the user to select a local directory, scan that directory for all images inside and then upload these images to the web. After a few hours of searching the only way that seems like it could be possible is with the use of an AIR application rather than just a flash application.
I am having trouble seeing my flash video on the server. I just see it in my local computer. I save everything and then preview it, copy the code and insert on the bottom site, and no video. Just the skin appears when you roll over the code. [URL]
I have everything in the same folder, I have added the mime types on the server, and it still don't work.
I would like to select a specific xml file to load from a local directory. The file name is composed of "Title" + "number sequence". I know the Title (in this case its XLink07), but I need to select the latest number sequence or the latest by date stamp.
For example, the local directory has the following files: XLink01[36735298100].xml XLink02[36735298100].xml XLink02[36735298101].xml XLink07[36735298100].xml XLink07[36735298101].xml
In this example I need to select file XLink07[XXXXXXXXXXX].xml where XXXXXXXXXXX is the highest number within the XLink07[XXXXXXXXXXX].xml files. Title is Xlink07 and function should return Number sequence [36735298101]. Files with higher number sequence have later date stamps than files with lower number sequences. I need to select the highest number or the latest date stamp for the file that begins with XLink07.
My action script to load the local .xml file without any function to select the correct file is: Security.allowDomain("*", "*") var xmlLoader:URLLoader = new URLLoader(); xmlLoader.load(new URLRequest("XLink07[36735298101].xml")); xmlLoader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, showXML); function showXML(e:Event):void { [Code] .....
Trying to make a button that links to a image in a local directory, but am having no luck. What i want to happen is: User Clicks a Thumbnail (as a button)> Button then opens a new window in the browser where the full-sized image is displayed ( i have the full-sized image on file, its not on the web)
var mic:Microphone = Microphone.getMicrophone(); mic.setUseEchoSuppression(true); mic.setLoopBack(true);
when I browse thru adobe documentation for microphone access. But I could not find a way to record the sound and save it in the local drive. How to store the sound in local drive???
I try loading my video from a swf file using flvplayback component using the script below
[Code]....
but I notice that the swf file doesnt link the video instead i have to place my video the same directory with the swf file and change to flvPlayback.source = "Listening_to_Community_Voices.flv"; Does that mean the video file im linking must be on the same directory as the swf or did I wrote my code wrongly.?
I'm putting together a portfolio for an interview mon, and I use a portable dvd player to show my 3d animations, but I also want to show a flash game I made and I was wondering whats the best method of showing it.I can't lug my comp in there, and just printing and mounting screenshots seems a waste when I have the dvd player sitting on the table already. I've been trying various desktop recording software, but so far everyone I've tried has horrendous framerate issues, well, not terrible, but not something I wanna show at a job interview.
When I have a class linked to a MovieClip in my library and that class takes an argument in its constructor method. That class will compile properly ONLY when it's located in my top-level directory (same dir as the .fla and Document.as files). If I move that class to a deeper directory, say com.place, and update the package statement and symbol link appropriately, the compiler will generate error "1136: Incorrect number of arguments. Expected 0."Create flash project and put a rectangle on the stage. Covert it to symbol and assign it to class TestPanel - or whatever you choose. Also configure the fla so that is uses a Document (Main) class.Create Main.as and TestPanel.as in the same folder. In the Main class, instantiate a instance of TestPanel and add it to the stage. Flash will, predictably, add the rectangle symbol and everything is fine. Now modify TestPanel so that its constructor method takes a Number and have Main.as pass some number to TestPanel.[code]You now get the error: 1136: Incorrect number of arguments.Expected 0.When I move the TestPanel.as into a deeper directory, Flash somehow is looking elsewhere for the base class for Symbol, even though I'm mapping that Symbol to com.place.TestPanel.
I want to create a simple app the will run on a PC as a desktop application - not on the web. What I would like to do is have it show a webcam image on screen (yup, i can do this bit), then when the user clicks a button, the video and audio from the camera is recorded and saved to their local machine (eg. the desktop). I'd prefer it to be an flv or f4v file, but any video format would do for now. I've seen examples of video being recorded only (basically grabbing a jpeg/png of each frame and using these, but this has no audio!) I've also seen mention off flash media server, but as this app will be going on over 100 pc's with no network/server connection - I cant see how the cost would work!! (100 x licences -
I hava an application that captures video from webcam and renders some additional elements on its display (augmented reality). Now I need to record this video and stream it to FMS.
When i click record_btn, flash asks me permission to access my webcam. If i alow in the screen i am able to see live video. But I want to store the video and replay it.
I noticed that AS3 is able to take a snapshot out from a webcam & save it as a .jpg but is AS3 capable of recording a video with a webcam and save it to a local disk/network server? any video format is fine with me as long it can be played with window media player.
Is it possible to record 2 way conference in a single file? I can record conference separately for both perticipents but can not record as a single recording file.
Is it possible to record video through Flash's "Webcam" facility and receive encoded video on server side without any further processing (i.e. just saving the stream to a file)? Or is server side software always needed to encode the input? If server side software is necessary, are there free / Open Source solutions available?
I want to give my users the ability to record a video from WebCam (maximum 60 seconds) so the file should be big with proper quality settings.Do you know of a way to record it in memory (as Flash running in browser can't access file System) and then send it to server to save the file? I have build a functionality to capture a photo with Webcam and send it to the server but not sure about Video.(I prefer not to stream to Red5/FMS or similar as it's more relaible to keep things contained in the Flash file in my opinion) plus I had issues with quality of recording with Red5
What are some good plug-ins or techniques to capture a user's video from their webcam. Then upload that file to the server were it could be played back on the web.
Is this possible to setup a system that would record blank video with audio. Why? Audio recorded as a stream is .flv which is a proprietary format that has trouble seeking or scrubbing to different sections. If I could have it record minimal video with the audio stream then it might work because the video will have keyframes which can be searched. I already have a wowza server recording a stream so I know how to record either audio, or video but recording the users' web cam with it will be too much video, unless I could delete most of it or something later. Maybe there's a way to reduce the video? Like record audio and one rate and video at another?
