View 2 RepliesI would like to know if it's possible to capture a users webcam in flash and directly upload it to YouTube without a backend server setup. Or if there are any third party providers that support this service. I see YouTube offers a live streaming API, but it seems it's only available for selected users.
View 1 RepliesI'm attempting to upload a video via the YouTube api. I can authenticate everything fine and formulate the request just fine but the body of the request with the binary video data I'm having an issue with.
What's the proper way to encode the file data and add it to the body of the urlRequest?
My best guess was:
public function getFileStreamBytes(fileName:String):String{
var byteArray:ByteArray = new ByteArray();
var returnString:String = "";

View 1 RepliesI am still new to AS. Looking for a detailed tutorial/explanation on adding/embeding a youtube video to flash. If anybody has a descent example that would work too. Also i would like the youtube video to play in the flash file.
View 1 RepliesI'm back in video after a decade long absence and I'm completely new to YouTube because I've been living on a continent that rarely even has Internet. I've got some old footage I need to put on YouTube, but YouTube's specs are a bit contradictory at times.Starting from the get go, I have several questions and I hope you can point me in the right direction. It sounds like an FLV file is what I should go for, so I'll base my questions on that. Don't hesitate to answer between the lines. And don't hesitate to tell me to change tracks.
The most clear export I can make from my old Avid editing program is an uncompressed QuickTime movie. I can't find anything in the YouTube specs about QuickTime moives. They don't say they're good. They don't say they're bad. Can I convert to an FLV file and upload to YouTube with good results? When I export non-HD material from my editing program, what frame size do I export?When I convert to an FLV file, what size do I re-size to? Or does YouTube resize whatever I send to them to the right size?When I convert to an FLV file, what's a reasonable bitrate for video? How about audio?Or do I even need to bother with the above? In one YouTube information sheet, it sounded like I could just upload a plain old MPEG2 file and YouTube would go from there. Correct or not?What's the benefit of an alpha channel? It seems like the files get smaller, but I can't get them to play at all after I've ticked alpha.I'm using Avid Xpress Pro 4.3 and have access to both AVS and TMPG 3 for MPEG conversion. I'm using CS3 from Adobe.
One Mp3 file lives in the main timeline of a Flash file extending length of movie. These files have to be converted for youTube postings. Output I've tried is .mov and .avi. Audio format is not being recognized by youTube. I only have the mp3 sound files which i know is a compressed format. Are there simple settings or config changes i can make for export to get these to upload to youTube with audio?
View 2 RepliesHow to embed a YouTube video file in particular place of my Flash project, should I do this in action panel or in final html file. Here is exactly what I'd like to do: On this website [URL] under 'Film' panel I have some movie samples, and after clicking buttons on right side I'd like to play embedded YouTube clips instead of flv.samples uploaded to my ftp. as it takes too long for customers to download them.

View 5 RepliesI have the Netbook version of Ubuntu Maverick Meerkat and installed Google Chrome stable. I installed the latest version of Adobe Flash.Here is the behavior:1. YouTube videos appear as a white screen when embedded on the page in Chrome. I hear sound.2 The video is normal when I switch to full-screen mode.3. HTML5 videos display normally in Chrome4. Firefox displays YouTube videos without any problem.5. Ubuntu Lucid 10.4, with the same software components, displays YouTube video in Chrome without problems.Any thoughts on correcting this odd problem?

View 1 RepliesI am doing a simple project for school, and I had to develop a website off of a premade template, the URL is [URL]. If you go to the about page there is supposed to be a video in the TV that plays, when I use the FTP server to upload the swf and index.html file, where am I supposed to put my video file so flash finds it and it plays? also having the same problem on the portfolio page with my pictures not being there. When I click the small icons on the left, the larger picture is supposed to show up in the right picture frame.

View 1 RepliesI wanted to know if this is possible. On my site I want to play youtube videos from my account from youtube. Basically, there will be an empty text box. Users will type in some text. Click on a button to search and play a random video based off tags associated with a video from my youtube account with the words from the text box? And if they did the same search it wouldn't play the same video again?
View 0 RepliesWhy can't I watch youtube videos on my laptop? It's brand new. I can go to the website and the video loads just fine. It starts to play but then shortly after it quits. The monitor flickers and then goes black. I don't think it's the Adobe Flash player.

View 1 Repliesi've got a problem with a Flash website that has been driving me crazy. i have a Flash website that was built for us in late 2009, it uses ActionScript 2 and i have been maintaining it in CS3 on a Mac.
the site is structured as a heirarchy of swf files, and loads XML files to specify text content, image locations, and Youtube videos. all this has worked fine until sometime in the past month or two. the problem now is that the embedded Youtube videos no longer load, although nothing has changed in the code. unfortunately i don't know exactly when the videos stopped loading.
in the Activity Window of Safari i can see the URLs for the Youtube crossdomain file [URL].. Youtube still for the video, and the Youtube player[URL].. however neither the still frame nor the player skin load.
if i run the site directly from my hard drive (with my Flash Player security preferences set to allow the swf to access the internet), the videos do load and play, so i am guessing that it is some kind of security domain issue. if i run the site in Flash CS3 in debug mode, when i navigate to a video page, although the video loads and plays, i get lots of these warnings (i've edited the path and file name):
[code]...
Is there a flash component player for the web that can play resolutions like youtube has be the user selecting a dropdown. If not, is there a tutorial that you know of that will show me how? I'm not a programmer, just a designer. I just upgraded to CS5 premium - love it so far.

I am working on a mac but my question is what files do I need to export out of CS5 to include in my upload besides the index SWF and index html? Do I have to export each individual page? Each individual photo? each individual button, ect? Or is there a main folder I can export and up load to my server. Also for all the photos I have put into the project, do I need to upload them as a seperate folder, if so, is there a specific name I should label it so it registers?
