Professional :: Easy To Get Flash Working On Website?
Jul 12, 2011
I cant get the flash to work on my website. I have also tried using countless versions of the 'AC_RunActiveContent.js' wrapper with this, but it just ends up as a white block, whereas if I just use the following code I get a black block. So I am certain that the path is correct because if I change the src path, it becomes a white block.
I'm losing my mind. I have the script uploaded, the swf, flv and the html code and nothing is showing up on the website. I'm sure it's something silly: http://67.199.12.209/newsite/
I've made some flash swf files and I want to use them in my website. I uploaded them and everything works fine, except that the swf files won't play, it just shows a white box instead. I'm using flash 8 and dreamwevaer 8. and since I'm new to this and this is my first time uploading a website
I am trying to embed a flv with a custom skin from Flash CS4 on my web page. I have embedded FLV's before using Dreamweaver CS4 by going to Insert/Media/FLV and it worked fine. However, I do not like any of the skins available in DW.
So I created a FLA in Flash with a skin that I prefer. The file previews fine in Flash. I published it and Flash create the flv, swf and skin.swf. I then went to DW and choose Insert/Media/SWF and inserted on the html page. I previewed it in the browser and it worked fine.
I uploaded the .swf, flv, skin, and html to my server. The skin appears but the flv video does not.
Is there somewhere in Flash that I need to specify "Progressive Download" as in DW? Or am I missing a file? Or.....
am i publishing the movie incorrectly? It works great when I preview the flash file (cntrl+enter), but after I publish it and insert it into the html (in dreamweaver), the file shows up and animates perfectly, but when clicked, no link... It doesn't do anything
Recently an associate of mine and I built this site www.grievewinery.com. It seems to be working fine for everyone EXCEPT the owner himself. I am at a total loss. I have checked it on 4 MACS and 7 PC's of all different browsers and variations. I have asked them to try all variations on the URL, such as leaving off the http, the www - any and all ways possible. Nothing. For the life of me I cannot surmise why the owner himself would not be able to view the site unless he had a typo or needed a FLASH update, of which he would be prompted as such, correct?
I'm building a website and decided I was going to work with a pre-built web template. Problem is, as I painfully found out, my host wants the file structure of the site a very certain way (html pages in the root directory, media-files folder, image-files folder, support-files folder following that). I had to go through the template and recode a good bit of it myself (only knowing HTML, while the site is written in HTML, CSS, Java, and Flash). I've gotten the vast majority of the site working now.. on my computer at least.
I went through the flash file and corrected the directories so it could find the background pictures it needs and saved the file. Now, when I hit CTRL+Enter in CS4, the preview comes up correction and works flawlessly. However, when I bring the file up in firefox, the flash animation is STILL missing the background images. Also, I need to move a related file to the flash animation into another folder, but when I do that the text disappears, even after correcting the directory in flash.
The template I'm working with can be found here : Click. The flash animation in question is on the mid-left side of that page, where you can click the arrow to proceed through 4 different slides. Also having problems with the logo of the site, where the text will disappear if I move the related file I was talking about (A text file).
Here are pictures of the problem: No background: Click No Background/No text (moved text file, corrected directory): Click What I see in Flash CS4: Click I've also tested the site in Internet Explorer, same problem. I'm guessing there's probably a simple fix for this, but being unfamiliar with flash I just don't know it...
I am building a website that is all in flash. In the first frame there are 6 buttons. Each button has a code to go to a different place in the timeline, where something happens. For example, one of the buttons has this code:
on (release) { gotoAndPlay("web"); }
Another button has this code:
on (release) { gotoAndPlay("widgets"); }
And so on.Everything happens on the same timeline. When I publish the movie to test it (ctrl+enter), everything works great. The problem happens when I upload the file to my ftp and try to view it online. In that case, when pressing one of the buttons, instead of jumping to the place in the timeline where it should go, it just continues on to the next frame on the timeline. So for example if I press the "web" button, instead of going to the label "web" it just continues on to frame 2 in the timeline, and then 3,4,5 and so on until there is a stop(); in the actionscript.
After the first press though, it goes back to working fine. Meaning, the second time I press the "web" button, it will go to the "web" label, and from the second click onwards everything works great. it's just the first click on ALL the buttons that doesn't work, although it does work locally...
I've got a nearly completed Flash site, but one of the buttons isn't working--sometimes. Run the .fla below, wait for the animation to stop, and click the "services" star. Two more stars appear: "design and production" and "editorial." If you click on "design and production" first, everything works fine. You can get to editorial and everywhere else. BUT if you click on "editorial" first (after clicking "services" but before clicking "design and production"), the "design and production" button doesn't work from there (the "editorial" label frames in the "inline_frame" movie clip). I've got several Actions keyframes in the "inline_frame" movie clip--I don't know if that's kosher or not.
I am editing an old (2006) Flash file that was left over from a previous designer. He used AS 3. I noticed that old and new AS (F9) panels are different. I've looked everywhere in the new version to find the timeline functions that you can just double click on to add to the AS panel [see image] but can't find them.
Is it possible to still access these "easy to use" older list of AS items in the new AS panel?
Is anybody else finding their flash website event.RESIZE isn't working in Windows 7?My website works fine when I run it at home in Vista, however at work in Windows 7 it just does not work and I have no idea why???! Essentially the bit that says portfolio works should stick in the top right corner on resize and the mute and sound button in the bottom left.
I want to make a game using physics in Flash, so I stumbled upon Box2D, but i find that hard to use [the basics are simple, but when i see the scripts,so i was wondering if there are easy to use flash physics engines?
I've recently created a game in which the logic and programming all runs perfectly, however the graphics are lackluster. I'm currently having a hard time managing the depth of movieclips on the screen.Basically the game is tile based and each frame of the movieclip holds a different type of tile. All the tiles are 50x50 with the exception of one type of tile which is 60x60 and therein needs to overlap the tiles around it which are 50x50.In AS2 I could of set the depth manually, however I'm told (as is this is my first time dealing with depth in AS3) that I cannot do this anymore. Is there any suggestions on how I can make sure that a tile of one type is automatically set beneath tiles of another type - I've thought about simply coding a function to check this but it somehow seems inefficient (considering larger maps will have a lot of tiles, meaning hundreds of movieclips attached to the stage, each movieclip with multiple frames).
I have Xml Flash website but it is done in FlashMx with a Publish settings of Actionscript 1.0 and Flash Player 6 . Now I have a flv player component I want to embedd it inside my xml flash project, It says you need a higher publish settings to enable that flv component. ok fine Now i have changed the Publish settings to Flash Player 8 . Usually maximize, and minimize works while i am opening video player in windows, but when i upload it on website, i cant use maximizie and minimize option. Any working code for websites.
here is my html code: < !DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
I have a Cube which I want to rotate using mouse motion. So if I move my mouse to the left it rotates as if rotationX was increased. When I move right rotationX is increased. Moving Up and Down alters rotationY.
This looks fine as long as you modify only one dimension (either rotationX or rotationY). But if I have already changed rotationX and then try to modify rotationY the results are weird. If rotationX is 180 rotationY effects are reversed. It basically is quite unpredictable and certainly not suitable for user.
I have tried to look around (failed), read about quaternions (couldn't understand), tried some out of blue and very complex trigonometric calculations (made a fool out of myself) and so I am stuck now. I've found this SO question Best way to translate mouse drag motion into 3d rotation of an object but it doesn't help me a bit, I can't understand any of the answers, really.
I know this is a very broad question bith me. I'm not looking for a specific answer - any hints in the right directioI'm relatively new to flash website design but am interested in learning how to make professional looking sites. As an example, take this si
I'm starting a blog with a hosted wordpress instance and i would like to be able to stream music using a flash player on some posts. The problem is that every player i find uses a simple param to get the file url which makes it very easy for someone to find that url and just download the file.I know that it's probably impossible to prevent this all together, but i at least don't want it to be obvious.
I have seen many websites that include a flash file, and there is a button when pressed, the webpage becomes fullscreen. And a text is displayed "Press ESC to exit fullscreen mode". how to make this script?
I need to have a flash intro for an ambulance that changes models and years while moving down the road ...something simple but can't figure how to get it started. Will be 3 different year/models.
I am trying to put a flash background on my website that will loop over and over.I created the file in after effects but understand that it is best to export to flash to keep file size down.I have tried exporting from after affects using F4L, FLV, and XFL and always seem to get a file size of 2-4 MB.My video is only 8 seconds long and I exported at half resolution so I am unsure why it is so largeWhen I import F4L and FLV to flash and then export as an SWF file, the file does not work on my website(nothing shows). It seems to only work when I import as an XFL and then export as an SWF.Also, how do I get the video to loop? Do I do this in flash or in the object tags in my website
I would like to know if I can add Vxml to my flash website for example I have some code I would like to change the commands of like this.[code]I want to know how can I replace he (Key.isDown(Key.UP) command with a voice promt to get the same reaction.so instead of me pressing the up key down, i repeat the phrase "go forward" and get the same result.I it possible to do this in flash or should I look to another code platform like JAVA or C++.
I found out an action script online, and did like it. So I applied it in my new flash. However, when I play the .swf file with Adobe Flash Player, it runs smoothly, but when I upload it on my website, it keeps black out and does not run at all.URL...And here is the project I packed so you can have a look at the AS:URL...
1) a sprite with a rollover/out tween, going from alpha 0 to 1 on rollover, and back to 0 on rollout (let's call it "containerSprite"). That part is cake.
2) another sprite within the container (let's call it "closeButton"), that goes along for the ride (i.e., its alpha gets tweened along with the container). That's easy enough to do by making it a child of "container". When I say it is "within" the container I mean in terms of x/y.
3) when I move the mouse within containerSprite and onto closeButton, I want the container to stay visible (easy enough by setting mouseEnabled or mouseChildren to false). But I want closeButton to respond to mouseDown events, so I can't set it to mouseEnabled=false, nor can I set containerSprite.mouseChildren=false.
4) there will be several other sprites within the x/y of containerSprite, each with their own rollover/out tween. The catch is, when the mouse is within containerSprite and rolls onto one of them, the alpha of containerSprite SHOULD tween out (unlike when rolling onto closeButton).
For the life of me, I cannot get it all to work. I can get the desired behaviour in (4) easily enough, either by making the other sprites (mouseEnabled) children of containerSprite, or by making them siblings of containerSprite but higher in the display list. But the desired behaviour in (2) and (3) is vexing me: if closeButton is a child of containerSprite then its alpha tweens along with containerSprite (desired), but because it must be mouseEnabled, moving the cursor onto it triggers containerSprite's rollout event (undesired). If instead it is a higher sibling of containerSprite rather than a child, it has the same problem: if it is mouseEnabled, moving onto it counts as a rollOut event for the container. It seems like the solution ought to be easy, and I'm just missing something that is in plain sight.
I want to embed a website within my flash movie, is this possible?I want it to be like a screenshot of the site but actually calling the URL, just like an iFrame really, but in a flash movie.
I am currently trying to make a Flash website for my cousin's business, and his website should feature a portfolio gallery to display the work he has done (He is a contractor). I am trying to use the SlideshowPro plug-in which generates a very nice-looking Flash gallery that is about 50 times nicer than the one he is using on his website at the moment. One of the big things I like about SSP is that it offers a full-screen picture viewing mode, which would allow potential customers of his to see work he has done better than they are currently seeing.
However, whenever I publish the website to test it and make sure everything is working okay, I go to the Portfolio page and test SSP in full screen. Once I come back from full screen, the gallery remains on top of the screen on every other page of the website. The audio also does this (It can play audio in the background while looking through the galleries you set up). Since I am somewhat new to Flash, I am not sure why it is doing this. Perhaps someone else has encountered this and has a fix or workaround that I could use.
Have a look at this: [URL] and then this: [URL]. Notice how it doesn't take any time to load on first URL, but on the second URL, it takes A LOT of time for the flash swf (header) to appear. Even when you change pages, it doesn't seem to get cached.
