Professional :: Access These "easy To Use" Older List Of Items In The New Panel?
Jan 15, 2010
I am editing an old (2006) Flash file that was left over from a previous designer. He used AS 3. I noticed that old and new AS (F9) panels are different. I've looked everywhere in the new version to find the timeline functions that you can just double click on to add to the AS panel [see image] but can't find them.
Is it possible to still access these "easy to use" older list of AS items in the new AS panel?
I am learning Adobe Air and want to get the current selected item in the spinner list I have created, however every time I use selectedItem I keep getting the same value over and over, no matter what option I select. I am trying to make an application for the Playbook and this this my SpinnerList code:
I'm creating a facebook application in flex. I'm actually working on the friends component that shows your friends who are using the application. now, each friend has a profile image.
I created the component using a s:List element.
In the Skin Class of the element i configured the requestedColumnCount to 3, which means it shows 3 friends. i added buttons to scroll left and right in the list.
Whenever I scroll to see a different friend, for a half of a second i see no image because the List component is loading the image in order to view it.
is there a way to make the list preload all the elements so i won't have this kind of problem ?
I'm using flex 4.1 to write an application. i read in the documents that has the rowCount property to set how many items to display. the does not have that property. how can I limit the list to display 3 items ?
I am working on an older Flash project created in CS3 ActionScript 2.0 How can I make the pointer cursor change to the hand when hover over a list item?_root.slidePanel.myList'myList' is the list. I have traced out the contents of the List MC and it has a child MC called 'content_mc'. I assumed this was the object containing all of my list items but the only members of this MC I can see (when tracing them out) are 'setRGB' and 'searchKey'.
The 'recommendations' dataProvider is an ArrayCollection of String, which are generally sentences about as long as this one. By setting the variableRowHeight and wordWrap properties as shown, if a sentence is too long to fit on a single line, everything works fine- the row expands and the messages show on two lines, or occasionally three.
The space allocated for this panel within the entire canvas means if the total text size of 'recommendations' exceeds six lines, I need for the entire list scroll. This is also working just fine. The trouble is when using the mouse wheel to do the scrolling- Flex scrolls both the entire list and the single item where the mouse is hovering. Often this results in only the second half of a sentence being visible. Non-programmer friends I have asked to look at this noticed this, and tell me it as a problem. If a user does not notice the dual scrolling, and sees only a fragment of a sentence, it will be perceived as an error in the application.
Why I have to press 2 times the arrow key down to get a navigation through the list items in a list component of Flash?
Theres any workaround for this? I have a listener for keyboard event that checks if keyCode is equal to 40 if it is then I use 'stage.focus = list', but I have to press 2 times key arrow down to start navigating through list items.
I just downloaded Flash CS5 for mac which installed without any errors. However, when I first launched the software I am getting the following error: The following panel layout is missing or could not be read: /users/rob/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Flash CS5.5/en_US/Configuration/Workspace/Essentials.xml The application will not have a correct layout. load one from Windows ->Workspace Once past this message none of the panels load.
I was wondering if older versions of Flash (specifically Flash 8 and CS3) are still available. I'm aware that Flash CS5 is the current version, and I've used it a few times at school. However, I find that the older versions are easier to use, less prone to lag, and come with less features (it might sound odd to want less features, but I don't write Actionscript or anything - all I need are the basic paintbrush tools and animating abilites). Is there anywhere on this site that I can buy/download these versions from?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems that apps created with Flash CS5.5 will not install on some iOS devices, including iPod Touch 2nd generation. For example, I see the error message stating that the app was not installed "because it is not compatible with this iPod". The same app was successfully installed when published with CS5.0
If this is true, by publishing such apps to the iTunes App store, a developer would invite negative comments from unhappy people who still use older devices. And since there's no way for the developer to respond, using CS5.5 sounds like a quick way to get negative reviews.
I have 10.1.53.64 what is the viersion right before it? ..and the link to download it .?Ive been on this site day and night trying to find it and i have downloaded a bunch crap wasting time energy and bandwith. This has to be the worst, most unorganized website ive ever been to .Not surprising considering the quality of flash and their other product. no wonder steve jobs wants nothing to do with these morons. I have come close to throwing my computer out the window cuz of these fools.
I'm doing some small edits to a few lines of text in a .fla file.The file was created with an older version of Flash.When I edit this fla in CS4 and then export it to .sfw and play the movie it does not display correctly.Can I edit an oder file using CS4?the older file is using ActionScript 2.0.
I cant get the flash to work on my website. I have also tried using countless versions of the 'AC_RunActiveContent.js' wrapper with this, but it just ends up as a white block, whereas if I just use the following code I get a black block. So I am certain that the path is correct because if I change the src path, it becomes a white block.
How can I use an older version of Flash player when publishing to Man/Win Projector? The Properties says 'Player: 7' but when I publish to Mac/Win (.app/.exe) the file says it uses Flash player 9 (9.0.115.0)! One of our clients are having issues with a project published this way - on autoplay they get a white screen instead of the program screen and after they update Flash on their computer, the application (Projector) works. What's the issue?
In IE you can add the version=11.1.0 to the end of the codebase attribute of the object tag. Is there something that will force Firefox to do the same upgrade?
I have recently upgraded my Flash CS4 to Flash CS5 on my MAC, and Flash CS5 to Flash CS5.5 on my PC, these upgrades are causing the Flash Auto Formatting feature to malfunction, it somehow becomes a tool that breaks my code and causes errors while exporting, instead of simply re-arranging the lines.This is happening with all my codes and all my projects, not a specific line of code.
I have a Flex list and a custom ItemRenderer. I'd like to be able to have some items in the list use a different ItemRenderer (say, depending on the class of the item). Is this possible?
How do i add to a display list thats already has items on it?
this is what I have already
ActionScript Code: public function LotteryDraw() { // get the display list positions for each MC and text field... var startButton = this.getChildAt(0);
i would like to have a list being appeared in wich the items appear gradually one by one.generating the list isn't a problem, but letting the items fade in after each other ?in a later fase these item would become button for in a menu. my current code, probably a mess:
title = new Array("house DC","residence GRK","offices J","youth hostel","house VDV","concordia"); var fadespeed="10"; dupMovie = function () { for (i=0; i<title.length; i++) { option.duplicateMovieClip("option"+i, i);
if there is a way to get a manual text list (or an array or really just anything I could use to get an overview) of items in the library of an FLA...?
I have about 60 movieclips of different flags in my FLA- they all are "linked" to be used in Actionscript- so they have names there but are not named otherwise (as instances on the stage, for example).
Is there a way to get a list of them? I don't want to have to type them all out manually, if there is another way
This is driving me crazy, it seems like it should be simple but I haven't been able to find any documentation on it anywhere. I have a List() that I've created and populated with a DataProvider. I want it so that when you click on a list item that item becomes disabled (in the same way you set list.enabled = false). Since I haven't found out how to disable the list, I have something like this which just removes the entry:
I am working in Flash Cs3.I am having a List component in my application.I added 10 items into my list component. Now out of those 10 items, i want to disable particular list items like Item 4, Item 8, Item 9. How to do this using flash cs3 or flash 8.0.
Item1 -- Enabled state Item2 -- Enabled state Item3 -- Enabled state[code]...........
