I'm referring to the Action Panel, "Press the Add a new item to script button and choose flash.display > MovieClip > Methods > stop."
However, when I click the Add icon, it lists only:

I don't see flash.display anywhere.
I just downloaded Flash CS5 for mac which installed without any errors. However, when I first launched the software I am getting the following error: The following panel layout is missing or could not be read: /users/rob/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Flash CS5.5/en_US/Configuration/Workspace/Essentials.xml The application will not have a correct layout. load one from Windows ->Workspace Once past this message none of the panels load.
View 3 RepliesI have a Spark.List with several items ("folders") each containing an ArrayList of files inside, when I select one of these "folders" it should display the list of "files" on another Spark.List. Its working right now by doing this:

The problem is that when the "file" thumbnails cover more then the List viewport and a scroll is needed sometimes by changing from a "folder" to another "folder" the file List loses files. For example lets say there is a "Folder 1" with 30 "files" in it (10 visible and 20 hidden by the scroller) and "Folder 2" has 5 "files" (all visible), if I switch back and forth between "folders" sometimes it will display everything right. Sometimes it will display a scroll on "Folder 2" when there is no need and sometimes it will only display a few (5 or 10) "files" in "Folder 1" even though it has 30. Something is wrong with the fileList, its updating its items but not really updating well. I've tried setting the itemRenderer to null and reapplying, setting the dataProvider to null and reapplying, doing validateNow().
Attempting to add an action to a button using the Behaviors panel, I get a choice on numerous actions but no events. "Event" always is always empy--no "On Release," no anything.
How can I prompt some options in the "Events" part of the Behavior Panel.
I want to capture the text typed by a user with the keyboard and to use it in a program (written in the panel action). For instance, the user types the text "TEXT" and the program automatically catch this text and process it (for instance, the program writes this same text in bold letters; so the text TEXT appears in the result panel).

View 1 RepliesI used to have a little text panel (that sat with the color, swatches, and align panels) that I was able to open up and edit text size, color, underline, etc with. It had a much better text editing ability then the properties panel, seeing as the properties panel does not even bother to allow me to underline text or to highlight and edit a single word in a whole text box. Now I don't have it, I can't find the damn thing anywhere, and I want it back. How can I get it?
View 1 RepliesThe flash, is designed as below so that when click on the button on the screen, will pick up the button and let the button move with the mouse. When the mouse is click again anywhere in the stage, the button will be put down again and wont follow the movement of the mouse.
The problem is that whenever the pickup function is triggered, though the stage event listener for dropdown only get added when the pickup eventListener has been triggered, the dropdown function is always executed together with the pickup function (will dropdown as soon as it has been picked up, all within a single click instead of the intended 2).

I am editing an old (2006) Flash file that was left over from a previous designer. He used AS 3. I noticed that old and new AS (F9) panels are different. I've looked everywhere in the new version to find the timeline functions that you can just double click on to add to the AS panel [see image] but can't find them.
Is it possible to still access these "easy to use" older list of AS items in the new AS panel?

I want to create a panel docking to a pop up panel in my flex app, like Winamp's playlist window can dock to main window. but I didn't find any useful on docking in flex
I've traced the PopUpManager, but I didn't find any available interfaces or events about popup window's moving, I think it's design shouldn't be so bad.
Does anyone knows of a way to get the output panel in flash or the console panel in flex builder or flash builder, to format the "traces" with html or any thing else? for example:

There is a fade transition between slides.When a button is released ... I want to gotoandPlay (frame 98) ... and then have it stop 10 frames later on (frame 108). Frame 98 includes the transition ... if I just gotoandStop on frame 108 ... I loose the transition.Is there any way to incorporate a stop action, after a gotoandPlay action on my button ... without naming instances etc.I.E.

I have basic movie clips, On roll over, show arrows [NEXT, PREVIOUS] on movie clip [they then show other images inside movie clips]I can show arrows on roll over.But when i roll over the arrows the main ROLLOUT function gets called, the arrows hide. I have tried already with toggling visibility and 'gotoAndStop()' to make items appear over other items when the corresponding button is pressed, for example, when the user tries out different pants/shirts on their character.
I would like to use the selectionMode=multiple described in the Flex docs, but with a few modifications:
1) I would like the box that the user drags over the graph to remain there until the user drags a new one.
2) In the top right corner of the box I want to display the sum of the items selected by that box.

View 2 RepliesI'm creating a facebook application in flex. I'm actually working on the friends component that shows your friends who are using the application. now, each friend has a profile image.
I created the component using a s:List element.
In the Skin Class of the element i configured the requestedColumnCount to 3, which means it shows 3 friends. i added buttons to scroll left and right in the list.
Whenever I scroll to see a different friend, for a half of a second i see no image because the List component is loading the image in order to view it.
is there a way to make the list preload all the elements so i won't have this kind of problem ?
im having some dificulties in the combobox of Flex 3, after defining the dataProvider and filling the combobox, how can i remove the items in the combobox later (without removing items in the dataprovider)? if i set the provider to "" or null, the items in the combobox are still there

how to get my CollectionEvent to work, and I seem to be able to see the problem, but I am not sure how to get it to work properly.
In my actionscript, it seems to only tell that event.items.length is 1, while I am calling my array collection from the HTTPService, and I have tested the length of my Array Collection, which seems to be accurate. What I tried to do is to use that number in the CollectionEvent function, but that does not work at all.

I have a big project in Flash CS4.Things have been normal for several weeks. Today the Library was missing. The library tab is visible. My project name is selected. But the rest of the panel is all gray. I have downloaded an update to 10.0.2. I am working on a Dell Laptop XPS M1330. I went to the Dell site and downloaded & installed the one video driver update. I also began a new project and tried to import one image into the library. It imported successfully, but the library panel is still blank.
