View 1 RepliesI want to implement Open Flash Chart in my website but it doesn't work. The chart just start loading for a second and the loader animation disappear and nothing happening (Only a blank swf area). i've downloaded the latest version which is 2 and here is my folders scheme:

The JS folder contain swfobject and the open-flash-chart folder contain the action script classes of the chart

I want to draw stock price in real time as a candle graph. I get open flash chart from someone and it looks good at drawing. I don't know how to update the candle graph in real time (using Ajax?), and is it a good way? I use Python a lot. But I cannot find tools as easily to use as OFC.
View 3 RepliesHere's what I am trying to do: I am working on a flash site and I want it to start out with a bang so I've made a intro clip in After Effects in 1920x1080. I want this intro to start by you clicking a button. So when you first see the screen you are going to see the paused video (In my case the earth from outer space) and a big red button which you can click to start this video. Since I am working in 1080p I won't be able to use FLV so we are talking about the embeded video function. My problem: I want the video to stop or go to the next frame after playback it only loops as of now.

View 1 RepliesI'm trying to integrate a Flash Professional/AS3 game into Facebook. The swf is hosted on a secure (https) server. The swf has to connect to a SmartFoxPro socket server on another domain.I'm using the Facebook Actionscript API to interface with Facebook. (Should I use PHP, instead? I read an article that recommends using PHP, because the Actionsrcipt API may not be kept up to date.) When I fire up my app, I get a "Security Information" pop-up box saying that the page contains both secure and nonsecure items. I click "yes" to all the display of the nonsecure items.
Then, I get an "XD Proxy blah-blah-blah" popup. This pop-up goes away, and then my app logs in to my SmartFox server.So... What is this "XD Proxy" window? I think it looks unprofessional, and users may think there's an error with the app. Also, can I block or hide the "Security Information" pop-up? Why don't I see this in other FB apps?
I'm an AS3 developer used to working with Flash Builder. I'm working with a designer who's using Flash Professional to design sprites and backgrounds for a game. I'm looking to create an integrated workflow for us, so they can layout levels in Flash Pro and I can add events in Flash Builder.
As well as triggering events when the player collides with items, triggering animations etc., I'm also looking to switch between scenes when the player changes level and the game changes state (start menu, in-play, game over etc.). To do this I'd like to load everything into Flash Builder and manipulate it programatically - showing and hiding scenes, scrolling, checking for collisions etc.
I've found guides to exporting a swc from Flash Pro and accessing the library in Flash Builder, but this only gives me the classes, not the positioned instances of objects. Is it possible to access everything on the stage as I'm looking to do?
This seems like an obvious workflow but I'm not finding it clear how it's done. Is my approach correct, or is there a better way to do this? Any advice on how to setup this workflow generally, what to do or avoid? More specifically, how can I access the entities on the stage and switch between scenes?
How can I Create an animated Bar Chart or Line Chart type of component in flash programmatically, which should depends upon an incoming XML data, the chart should have the basic criteria like, Chart Label, Item Tooltips, background grids (without using any image). There also needs an ability to change the data which should reflect the chart as well.

My CS5 flash crashed when I changed the name of the root folder while it was open. Swf is working fine, but .fla file wont open, I get a "Failed to open document" message. This is a disaser because I've lost two days of work. Is there anything that could be done to fix this problem?

I'm trying to prevent a default chart item roll over highlight in a Spark column chart.If you look at any of the chart examples on this page , when you roll over any of the chart series items, they turn a darkened shade of their original colour. This is what I want to prevent.
So far I have had no luck with using the itemRollOverColor property, as this only allows you to set it to one specific colour for the whole chart (my app has several different coloured series on the chart at once). Also, trying to leverage the itemRollOver event (with preventDefault() etc) hasn't worked either.
I'm trying to make chart which is combination of bar and line chart using Flex Charting API . Here x axis would be common and y axis would be different. note that y axis got different range of value one is % and other is amount. Any one got idea how to make this chart. Here line chart would be staked on top of bar chart . The line chart and never over laid or drawn on top of bar chart.

View 2 RepliesI make all the Flash banners for my company including onsite events and IMAX films. There are pre made banners that I (we) are allowed to download and use from trusted sites (Paramount/Universal/IMAX/ etc). These are sent out so we can plug in our branding to promote the films locally. In the past year, all the Flash files that I have downloaded or had mailed to me on a disc will not open. The error that I get says:Failed to open document./Users/myname/Desktop/Flash Banners/FLASH/genericflashfile.fla.I first though that maybe the studios were using CS4 or now CS5, but the icon that comes with the .fla files are definetly CS3. I even purchased the SWF Decompiler as a work around, but once I decompressed the swf file, and then re-exported as a fla file, I received the same failed to open error.Files I create on my own work fine.I was wondering if I missed an update for CS3, but I double checked and am up to date.

She's on vacation for 2 weeks (so I can't have her edit or resend the files as CS4) and I just got an email that the client needs a couple tweeks and all I have is CS4. View 4 RepliesI just taught myself Adobe Flash and created a very intricate file with lots of moving parts. I saved it and then went to improve it. Of course it was taking forever so I got up from the computer to let it do its thing and I accidently knocked out my external harddrive. A lil freaked out I exited out of adobe flash- plugged it back in and went to open my file. However, it wont open now! I've saved it a dozen times after I added each new part but I have nothing now! Is there a way to get it to open? The message that comes up simply says failed to open document.

My problem is that I can't open the Flash games because I if I click at "Live" in the main navigation nothing happens!!!
Other flash applications at other websites I can't open or see without problems - I really don't know what the problem is.
CS 5 made the most terible thing I ever could imagine. I saved over the last files and some temp files in order to have backup of my project. I saw something is wrong and don`t open the first file, so I saved 3 more times. I restart and now Flash don`t open those files. The flash open old files, but I`m going back for three days.

I have tried this on multiple machines all resulting in the same error message. I have also tried saving the file in CS4 under a new name, did a compact and save and a magic spell. Neither of which had any effect.

I am trying to edit a website for a friend (built with Flash and XML) and i can't seem to get into any of the .Fla files.I don't know if it is my version of Flash (CS4) or the files and not sure how i could test it. Could also just be a CS5 file hence i can't open it.
View 1 RepliesSo I recently switchs to a new computer. Installed flash and got everything up and running. On the old computer, I was forced to set the jvm.ini to use -Xmx512M in order to run the application (it's kinda big) But now, if I set it 512, flash will not open... I get the Java enviroment error.
Now, I lower the xmx value more and more and more until flash FINALLY opens without an error... I load up my application and when I try to run it, I get the java memory heap error and it tells me to adjust the jvm.ini file. Anyone know how I can get flash cs5.5 on a windows 7 64bit machine with 8 gigs of ram to open with a larger jvm.ini value?
