Professional :: Same Buttons On Interface Throughout Multiple Scenes?

I have a project that requires building the project using Scenes to chunk up different sections of an Elearning course.
I have created 20 Scenes.
Each Scene uses the same interface design.
On the Interface there are 6 specific buttons that will allow users to visit 6 instructional areas.
All six buttons will be avialable in all 20 Scenes.
My question is: is it possible to replicate the six buttons across all 20 scenes without having to provide unique instance names for each button in all 20 scenes so that the code to go to a scene will work in each Scene?
Or do I just have to code all 180 buttons individually as I go?
What I mean is for example.
The Lesson 1 button is replicated 20 times. the lesson one button has actionscript to go to the Lesson 1 Scene.
If I replicate the button to another Scene, I have to give it a different instance name, and update the code for that button each time and for all buttons.

completing the code to get a return value from JavaScript to flash, but all the code was in a frame. My issue is I need to apply this code to multiple buttons, and then have them navigate to the appropriate frame. I thought I could put some of the code on the buttons themselves, or possibly I could call each button and keep all the code in frame one.....the external interface call function and the button functions....btn1, btn2; etc......I am not to verse in code and need to know what and how the best way to do this would be.

I try to run a swf or html file of my fla file and it only works on my machine but not on my laptop. I have the latest flash player installed but it still doesn't work. My laptop works for single scenes swf and html but not for multiple scene file.

whenever I set my sound to stream and continue to make a movie with multiple scenes. The audio and video get disgustingly out of sync sometimes even off by 30 seconds. I just started an animation its only 10 seconds long with two scenes and the AV is already off by about 5 seconds. Ive worked around this by avoiding scenes altogether but i really don't want to have another 5000 frame scene. I discovered this problem in Flash MX and Im quite annoyed that it still has't been fixed 3 years later!

I have a flash movie with 3 buttons I am trying to link relativley to pages within my site, I have one working fine but can't get the others to link and when I try it makes the one that is working, work no more..

Ok so here is my XML slideshow Actionscript:

So I figured that the coding of separate scenes would work independently of one another, but I guess I was dead wrong, because when I apply this to a different scene and change the XML path for a different set of images, I get all sorts of conflict errors when I test the entire movie. I have my flash film set up so that each link send the user to a different scene, which plays a unique intro for each, and then the slideshow appears on screen and the viewer can navigate the images.
Is there a work around for this? Or am I going to have to break my flash movie into separate movies? Or should I just add a suffix to all my vars and functions so that they are unique for each scene?

I am building a Flash site with a boombox animation. I have the below code I am using. I am using just two frames. First frame, is where I put the code in the actions layer, boombox is still. In the second frame, I placed my movie clips on layers (woofers vibrating & tape deck spins). No code in second frame. So, if you hit the play, previous or forward button a song goes on and the animation start. If you press the pause button, animations stop with music. I have created 2 functions per button.
2 questions: 1 - Is this the best way to do it? If I press the buttons quickly, sometimes a song gets stuck and I can't stop, forward, etc. I was wondering if this was the code?
2 - I am tweening in my pages using AS3 - not timeline. I have a music and video page (each a movieclip). Is there a way that once I tween in the new movie clip (non-music of vid page) that the music or video can shut off?

I've got this scene which is a movie clip; the only movement is in the models eyes, so I want to add invisible buttons around the scene that the user can interact with. When a certain object is clicked (the button) it triggers a short movie clip in the bottom corner of the scene, which is basically a text box typing letters.
However, I've tried to do this and I've come across two problems.
One, I can only click the button once, it won't repeat itself again.
Two, I can only seem to add one button as it's a movie clip and it messes with the others in the scene.

Is there any way I can have multiple sound buttons that works as stop buttons for each other? I mean.. I now got 3 buttons that start 3 different songs, but they overlap each other when I press more than one. I'd like Song 1 to stop when I press Song 2 or 3. And vice versa

this is probably a daft question but I'm a complete novice so bear with me. I need to know if it's possible to upload a picture to my Flash stage (a row of buttons I made in photoshop) and then somehow select each of these buttons and turn them into working button symbols? Or do I have to (very annoyingly) upload each button as a seperate picture in a seperate layer before turning it into a button symbol?

I am working on an interactive flash map, I was able to set all the countries borders with the help of fireworks (awesome tool), and import them back to flash and set each country as a button.I would like to set all of the buttons to have the same properties for example :All the buttons have default red color, and will have a mouse hover frame that will change the color of the button to blue.I DO NOT want to set each button manually, because I would like to have the choice to change the mouse hover color to a different one, and would like to avoid passing each button and changing each one's mouse hover frame.
Is there a way I can built a template of a frame, and for each button set its mouse hover frame as the template frame I built ? And then if I make any changes to the template frame, all of my buttons would be automatically updated?

I'm really new to flash, and just taking an intro level course at the moment.Anyways, for one of my projects,I wanted to load some .jpg files onto the stage, and make buttons from certain aspects of the image.So for example,I have an image of a coconut that I wanted to make a button out of.Right now I am trying to use the pen tool to outline the shape of the coconut, and then create a symbol from the pen tools shape.However, I'm obviously not doing something right, as when I turn the image into a symbol, instead of creating a button symbol from my outline with the pen tool, it just turns my whole .jpg file into a symbol.
I want to be able to make multiple clickable buttons from a single image,I know how the coding will work once I can make the individual buttons, but right now I seem to be missing a step.

In CS5, I want to create a series of buttons that when clicked will linked to other frames in the same timeline. So one button will link to frame 5, one will link to frame 10, one will link to 15, etc. All the buttons will appear across the top of the stage on a layer, and I want them to appear on all of the frames so the user can click back-and-forth to the different frames/screens.
1. Is the best way to do this to just add the buttons to frame 1 and add a keyframe to the last frame in the timeline, frame 15, so they are copied to all the frames in between?

I was wondering, if I had an image with multiple sections that are highlighted on rollover(like a car), and I wanted to give the user an opportunity to select multiple sections and on release they are taken to a page that displays relevant info on each clicked section, how would I go about doing that?

I am having a very unique problem: I am creating a simple flash website, and I have a series of buttons that link to a series of frames. There are 27 buttons, and each proceed to a separate labeled frame. Each of the frames is a short animation 13 frames long. The buttons are all versions of this:

Then, 13 frames into the animation I just have a stop(); command. My issue is that if you click on any button in the series, none of the buttons that go to frames before the current one work. If I click button 20 and go to the 20th animation in the set, buttons 1-19 don't work, but 21-27 still do.
What's more, from moving the actions around to see if they needed to be in the same key frame as the button, I found that if the actions are in a single key frame in any of the animations, the animation stops on the frame that the actions are in. I also found that each button will only work once.

I am doing a project for work and haven't used scenes in 3 years so I am a little rough around the edges.
What I am have is 3 buttons which should each go to 3 different scenes. The scene names are "home", "twoPortlands" and "portlands" and then each scene has a layer with the Frame Label of "home", "twoPortlands" and "portlands" I want the first button to go to and play "home" I want the second button to go to and play "twoPortlands" and then the third button to go to play "portlands"

I have a drop down menu whereby the clicking of a button causes it to move to a specific keyframe in the timeline. I also have multiple buttons which load external swf files.The problem is when i navigate to the drop down menu the loaded external files keep dissapering because they are not on the keyframe where the drop down menu is actuated. Is there any way of coding it so that which ever swf file is loaded remains there whilst the drop down menu moves to its specific stage in the timeline?

Is there a way to do this? I am just now hearing of (and experiencing) all the downfalls of using scenes to create an interactive website. I may have to start the whole thing over at the mid point if there isn't a way to convert it into one It will save a week's worth of work!

I have a swf that is built with 3 scenes. The 1st scene is actually the prealoader for the movie.Now, in the last scene i load an external picture (picture.loadMovie(...)). I want to load the picture in the first scene,as i need it allready loaded when displaying it in scene 3. to avoid the loading delay.

1. Created a flash banner ad on the first scene. Take note they're all under frame one because I used movie clips for the animations (Movie clip ends on the 100th frame and not sure if I need to add a stop(); code there or place the gotoAndStop command). Anyways, moving on.
2. I created a new banner onto another scene which by now I have 2 scenes. Just like scene 1, all the animations and such are all under frame 1.
3. Placed an action script on the first scene to play the next scene.
gotoAndStop("scene 2", 1);
4. For the second I placed the action script:
gotoAndStop("scene 1", 1);
Output:It looks like my banner ad is flipping one scene from another without stopping. I know my action script is not correct. I know you folks are far more experience in flash, so I implore your wisdom.

I am working in CS4 and am trying to use AS3.0 to make buttons that go to different scenes. I am not using "Scene 2" in my AS; instead, I am labeling frame 1 of Scene 2 and am using that frame label in my coding.
Unfortunately I cannot get it to work properly. I am about 8 hours into trying to fix it and cannot seem to get it resolved.
I have attached the .fla file for your reference. I have also pasted my AS coding below in case it is a simple thing (probably not!). The movie needs to stop at a certain frame so the buttons are available for the users.

Im making a flash program about pancakes (random I know). I have a "Mainmenu" scene and then a "Recipe" scene. I have a button on my mainmenu which takes me to the recipe page when I click it, the code behind the button is

Then when I arrive at my recipe page I have a button which will take me back to my MainMenu, the code behind that button is:

I'm currently trying to teach myself how to use flash CS5 and actionscript 3 and apart from doing small amounts of programing here and there I'm a complete novice.
I have 36 photographs taken at 10-degree angles, making an object and i have each image in a different scene, with hidden buttons asigned to different parts of the object so that whenever you hover your mouse over them it provides some more information.
What I want to do is to be able to cycle through these images in the different scenes using the up and down buttons on the keyboard.

I have created several scenes that all have the same navigation bar consisting of l buttons which take the user to the various scenes. The code for the buttons (listeners and handlers)is on frame one in the first scene. It works fine as long I am in the first scene, once I have navigated to another scene (scene 2) the buttons do not respond. I thought that the AS3 code on the first scene is available to other scenes as well? Could you suggest examples of code that will power up the same buttons placed on different scenes? (I am using CS4 Pro)

I'm trying to solve this for over a couple hours
Problem #1I have 4 Scenes, namely:
Index
Module 1
Module 2
Module 3
When I go to any modules from Index, the button inside the modules won't work.This is the code I used to go to Module 1:

I'm building a point&click application with hundreds of buttons, functions and so on
I've added to the main gamepanel two buttons, one opening a navigation map and the other opening a paper with a long text. There is nothing strange, no interactions with those addings (both loaded with attachMovie or loadMovie, doesn't matter).
Obviously, when the map or the text are opened, the buttons below continue to be clicckable and usable...It exist a way to stop all buttons in all scenes?
