Feb 1, 2010I am having an interlacing issue when I load my .flv files up to my site.The strange thing is that when I watch them after encoding in Flash Video Encoder (with adobe AIR) the interlacing does not appear. I can't understand why the interlacing issue would appear once the videos are loaded up to the site and yet they look perfectly crisp and clear when I watch the completed .flv's in AIR. I didn't de-interlace the videos the first time I created the .flv's but that shouldn't matter since they play fine in AIR right? Of course I can go back through and de-interlace them, but I want to make sure that this is the problem before I take the time to re-encode them all.

I dont mean putting it on one frame so it will play, but so i can edit objects over the top of the flash in each single frame.

Mar 18, 2006I am currently making a game, similar to StreetFighter,where enemies will come on from the side and you fight them. Now i have the character movement and attacks fully scripted, and have made an enemy, and i make it move towards the character using:

Now this works quite well and the enemy stops when it hits the character, but the problem is, it wont complete a full attack, instead it plays a few frames of the attack MC. Now i have every attack in a different MC (Frames 2-5) inside the Enemy MC. How can i make the enemy pause when it reaches the character, then choose an attack to use? From there i'll be on my way and can script the hittest and so forth.

Jun 30, 2011I want to implement an flex application using actionscript 3: with the camera and the virture buttons(like a image) in the camera, one can move his hand to pass over the virture button field in order to fire the button. Now my solution is following this way: capture the button field in every frame to get a bitmapdata, and calculate the gray-scale summation of the bitmapdata, if the difference between the two frames is greater than a given value, then fire the button. Actually, it could work, but it is very sensible to the lighting condition of the background, worse, when there are more than one buttons, people often fire the button by mistake.

Jul 29, 2010I'm wanting to create a moving object that will be exported into a tv commercial. Object has already been created in Adobe Illustrator, and now will be dropped into flash for adding movement. The destination commercial will be created in Sony Vegas, with the settings of (Australian) PAL television (25 fps, 576x720 pixels, lower field first).Thus keeping it simple, I want to set Adobe flash with the same output format, meaning that the canvas will have to be 576x720 pixels at 25 fps. So far this seems to have worked okay.Now I'm wanting to get rid of the canvas colour, just like I have here in this photoshop screen shot.
Judging by the colour palette in Flash Professional, it looks like it can't be done. I've checked "transparent palette" through yahoo and google, and had no results. The adobe documentation only details how to remove a background in Photoshop.

Mar 22, 2010I'm new to Flex, Flash, and ActionScript. I'm attempting to create a video player that starts another video when the previous video ends. I thought there might be an event that is thrown when the video finishes playing, but I have not been able to find it.
VideoEvent.COMPLETE is when the video is completely downloaded, not when it is completely done playing. Does such an event exist? how I could subclass SWFLoader, Image, or Video to support such an event?
Professional :: MovieClip Button Working But No Hand Icon
Jul 5, 2010I am creating a somewhat elaborate (for me at least) navigation for my site. I have created a bunch of animated MC's to use as nav-buttons, and all that works great. The only issue is that when you mouse over the MC-buttons, the cursor stays as an arrow instead of turning into the little hand that always happens with links. The links work, but no little hand. Do I have to have a "hit area" defined in order to get the hand icon to popup or what?

My problem is that the Hand Cursor doesn't always appear on the slide with a link, and sometimes appears on a slide without a link. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Here's the slideshow on my client's website:[URL] You'll see that the 1st slide should have a hand cursor since it has a link to it. The second slide (beading 101 ad) has a hand cursor but shouldn't since there's no code on it - no url on this one.
Adobe Flash Player - Video For Playing Given JPEG Image Sequence?
Oct 1, 2010Is there any possible way to play a .jpeg sequence using .flv player on-the-fly ? I mean, by not needing to convert the entire sequence into one single .flv ? Since I'm not familiar with flash neither action script, I was surfing the web in hope to find any template or tips about similar things to that but I couldn't...
Here's the main list of features:
1- Browse button to load a sequence eg. < filename >####.jpeg
2- Play button with a slider time
3- Previous and next frame-by-frame buttons
4- FPS slider from 0 to 30

Professional :: Pesky Text Box - Make The Hand Cursor Stick?
Aug 11, 2011I've got a dynamic text box on a movie clip that I'm using as a button (for a slider). To be specific, it's a movie clip on the stage that has a MOUSE_DOWN event listener applied to it. There's a circle in the movie clip and a dynamic text box in the movie clip right in the middle of the circle
The text field is set to NOT be selectable, the font is embedded, buttonMode and useHandCursor are set to true. I get a hand cursor when my cursor hits the outside of the circle, but once it hits the text field in the middle, the hand cursor goes away. how I can make the hand cursor stick? I've considered replacing the dynamic text field with a movie clip that has a timeline full of numbers, but that would be giving up.

Dec 10, 2010I am currently working on a flash website that has several flv videos on it. Since the website layout has a slight tilt, I have had to transform the videos to slightly tilt as well. The problem that I am having is that when I do this the image becomes very pixelated and the edges of the video become jagged. I have somewhat fixed the edges issue by making a mask around it but i really dont know how to make the resolution better, or what causes it to loose resolution when slightly transformed. The size of the videos is the same as encoded. All I do is tilt them upwards on the right side a bit.

Sep 9, 2010I'm porting in an .flv to Flash for the first time. I created the .flv from an .MP4 using Media Encoder CS5, and then opened a new Actionscript 3 .fla in Flash Professional CS5, clicked File > Import > Import Video. Then selected 'Load external video with playback component'. Everything seems to have imported fine, but when I publish the SWF and import it via Dreamweaver CS5 and preview the page, the video is there, but the controls are not. There's just a white box where the controls should be. Also, the video is out of sync with the audio, which I believe is a problem with Media Encoder, not Flash.

Flash :: Professional - Maximum Video Size To Keep The Video Running Correct?
Mar 28, 2011I'm currently working on a website design. The idea is a big chromakeyed interactive video in Flash. The size of the video is 1080 (width) x 1500 (height) pixels.I've exported the video in After Effects with the standard settings for flash (File>Export>Adobe Flash Player(SWF)). Now when I import the video in Flash and preview the file, the video plays in a slower speed and it's not playing smooth at all...Is the video too big? Is there a maximum video-size to keep the video running correct in Flash? Is it something else that causes this problem..?
