Basically, I have a button and on click it displays a menu. I want to click that menu a second time and the menu closes. Currently, every time you click the button, the menu reopens. I pasted the Flex livedoc example below. If you click the button, the menu keeps reopening.Now, I rigged it up by setting a var to open and closed, so when clicking the button it does a check. However, if you click away from the screen, the HIDE event gets dispatched, and the menu closes. This messed up the open close var being set.
How could I make this Flex example below show the menu on button click, and then on a second button click, it closes the menu? Take into affect that if you click away from the menu, it closes it.Also, I played around with the MOUSE_DOWN_OUTSIDE event for the button and set the preventDefault, and the FlexMouseEvent event.cancelable is set to false.Changing to a PopUpMenuButton is not an option. I have to much skinning involved.Here is the Flex example:

I have several swfs that now need to be brought together from one navigation menu/home screen that I need to create. This was easily done in as2 (replacing one swf with another when loading). Is this at all possible with as3? and if so what's the best approach?further info:the navigation screen will be an arial shot of a cartoon village, when you click on a house it should open up the swf activities than i've already created.

View 2 RepliesI'm having trouble creating code logic for 2 doors that open up to a business and personal section. I want them to be coded for all these scenarios:
1. when user's mouse is over the door (or section), the door opens up. the other stays put where it is. (done)
2. when the user exits the zone, the door closes shut (but slower than the opening)
3. if the user's mouse exits and reenters very quickly, i need to detect that somehow and rewind the easing function? example

View 1 RepliesWhen I attempt to select an item from the right click context menu, it sems as though the mouse "jumps". If I click repeatedly enough sometimes it will trigger the selected item. It only seems to be a problem on Windows FireFox/Chrome. It works fine on Windows IE, Mac Firefox/Chrome/Safari. Any ideas?I've added a function that displays a white halo when you mouse down to show where the computer is interpreting the mouse click.

View 9 RepliesI am using this collapsible panel - link. Unfortunately, I have a problem using it with application states. I have a state where this panel is visible, when I switch to this state, this panel shows, when I click on it, it opens and its content shows. If I switch to another state (this panel is removed from display), and then switch back to the previous state, the collapsible panel stays open, but its content disappears. In other words, the collapsible panel's content doesn't persist through states. Anyone know what the problem is? Or is there another collapsible panel that can work around this issue?

the problem is that when i click on the first button loads ok but when click on second still showing the first movie clip in the back ,,,,, i have try everything without luck ,,,, i guess i need to keep reading but will like to find an answer to this situation ,
I'm working on a web menu, that has sub menus. I'm currently trying to get the sub menu to jump back to the main menu if the mouse is no longer inside the submenu zone.
It works if I move the mouse quickly to another part of the Flash area, but if I quickly move it out of the Flash area and onto say the html document, it doesn't update fast enough, and thus still thinks the mouse is hovering over it.
I know I can simply update the movie frame rate which does work, but I was wondering if there is any way to get Flash to check to see if the mouse IS ACTUALLY ACTIVE over it, and if not close the submenu?
am just getting into flash, but my learning has been very slow due to job, family, social life, etc. I had a friend that came across a template that he liked and he wanted me to edit the template to his liking. I agreed and everything is about 99% done as far as the flash goes (not the total website). But I came across and issue and I have no idea how to fix it.

If you go to the navigation and click "shafts", then click on one of the manufacturers, it takes you to that manufacturer page where he will be selling the golf clubs. But once you are on that page, you can't click the "Shafts" button again to take you back, you simply have to click the "back" button.
Here's the scenario, I have 4 checkboxes I want to select all an so all check appears, but then I want to click back to previously click checkbox to deselect.

So I've been working on an online coloring book, and I've got most of it working for the majority. As you can see from the attached file it is fully functional except for the reset button. Ultimately I'd like you to be able to switch between two modes, a basic click and fill mode, and one that switches to a pencil to draw on the image. When you click on reset it is to clear the drawings, and reset the fills to their original colors.

But once the back button is pushed on the web browser, it always goes back to the first frame instead of the actual last page, which might have been frame 2 or 3.

i wanted to place some credits item in the right button menu (no links, so no events, just a label with credits). i was looking the contextmenu help, and there is an example of how to add items, disable default items and so on, but i could not find how to attach the menu to the movie (the basic part). i tried both on 'stage' and it tells me that stage does not have a property called contextMenu, so i tried to attach it to a sprite, it runs ok and compiles ok but when i right click on the sprite i get the default menu

I am trying to switch a boolean variable to true after a mouse click on a movieclip.
I want an animation to continue after the user has clicked both btn1 and btn2.
After researching this topic it appears that changing a variable inside a function will only effect code within that function and not the code outside of it - therefore my main Btn1Var and Btn2Var do not update to flase.
