Professional :: Get The "Fade In" Snippet To Work?
Apr 13, 2011
I went through an intermediate stage, recreating and cleaning up the presentation in InDesign and exporting as a PDF when they wanted a self-paced thing, but now they want something that plays through with the standard movie controllers. This thing also has an embedded video, a voiceover, and links to PDFs at the very end. (I've looked at other software options and haven't found anything that seems to fit, but am totally open to other options.) At this point, I can export the InDesign pages as a .fla file and get them on the timeline, add the voiceover files, and trim out some of the fat, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to fade one "slide" (now a movie clip in Flash) into the next. I need this to happen between successive bullet points and elsewhere. Using the code snippet "Fade in" fades, but only from white.
I can't get a simple fade to work, despite research and trial & error.My procedure (FYI):
- I create a layer just for this fade object. - I drag a .gif image from the Library to the stage in this layer. - I convert it to a symbol (tried Button & Movie symbols.Graphic symbol not an option because I need to reposition the object programatically). - I select the first frame in this layer, select the symbol, and set its Alpha to 0%. - I select another frame in this layer and Insert Keyframe. - I select the symbol again and set its Alpha to 100%. - I select the range of frames from start to end keyframe, I right-click this range, and I insert a Classic Tween (I've tried Motion Tween as well).
Bottom Line:
-When I try Control --> Play, the fade works perfectly. -When I try Control --> Test Movie, the fade never happens and the symbol remains invisible.
Why would the fade work in Play but not in Test Movie?What step is missing/wrong in getting this fade to work?
I installed Flash CS4 and the alpha doesn't seem to work. I follow all the instructions to the letter but get no results. I had no problems working in Flash MX
I am trying to find a snippet of code for my website.I am building a website using Serif Webplus X4. I am also creating 2-4 animation shorts to play as an introduction to the website that I created with Toom Boom Studio 5. I would like to have one of them randomly play at the beginning of the website so that every time someone logs on to our website, a different one plays. My question is that someone said that if I go to Adobe that I could get a snippet of code to make these 2-4 animation shorts play randomly.
I am using the following code snippet: but this error occurs Line 6 1061: Call to a possibly undefined method play through a reference with static type flash.media:Video. img1.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, fl_ClickToPlayVideo);
function fl_ClickToPlayVideo(event:MouseEvent):void { video_1.play(); //the error is referring to this line here }
I've created a new snippet in the Code Snippets panel in Flash CS5. However, it doesn't appear anywhere in the panel. Does anyone know where it's gone?
I'm looking for something similar to the click to display a textfield in the code snippet menu. I want the textfield to appear when i hover over the box and for the textfield to go away when the mouse is no longer on the box. How do I do this?
Fairly new to Flash - when I double-click on a code snippet (in CS5 or 5.5) the OUTPUT panel pops up and says: "The following JavaScript error(s) occurred: SyntaxError: missing ) after argument list" Tutorials make it look so easy. What am I doing wrong?
So my flash skills are pretty rusty. The project I'm currently working on is updating my portfolio site and I have a navigation bar that I want to fade in, click on a link, fade out, then go to the specified link. I've got the animation working the way I like, however I cant get the links to work correctly. I've used the standard getURL commands, but then every button goes to the same link, not different ones.
What Action Script 3.0 coding do I need to make the animation play the way I've described and have each button go to it's own link?
I have 2 images that need to fade in and fade out so after 5 seconds image1 slowly begins to fade out while image2 slowly begins to fade in. My first image does not fade in because on the start of the flash movie I want to directly see the first image. But when image2 is done (so the whole movie is almost done) and it's start fading out.... I get to see the background (just a black empty background) while I actually want to begin fading in image1 (so looping the 2 image constantly).
So how can I immediately see an image on the start of the movie and still getting a fading in effect of the first image when the movie is almost on its end (so during the fading out of the last image)?
using the "on mouse click" snippet in cs5 gives the following code as example code for something which can happen on click trace("Mouse clicked");
The notes say that this adds "mouse clicked" to the output pannel
indeed while previewing the file in flash mode clicking on the object adds this line to the output pannel each time.but while previewing in other modes such as html it does not
so what exactly is the output pannel does it store data which can later be called upon or does it have no use?
I made an earlier post which has been answered and everything works perfectly, but now i need a hand getting my images to fade in and fade out via code. I have 12 different images on 1 layer (bad thing i know but i dont know how to fix this).
My images pop up when they go over the respective button.How can i get the image to fade from 0 opacity to 100 in about 1.5 - 2 seconds? and then fade out again upon moving the mouse off of the button?
I have had a look at alot of different tutorials but none have helped me with the code, they have all been with keyframes. i cant use keyframes due to everything being on the one layer. also i think the code will be a bit easier for me to understand.
I'm trying to create a cursor that follows the mouse around and leaves a fading trail behind it, and know I would never put something so "1998" on my site, but I thought it would be fun to try and recreate one anyway for my own enjoyment. Okay this is the issue that I'm running into the fading ball cursor does actually work but for some odd reason after about 4 or 5 seconds it leaves a small trail behind it that does not fade all the way, it's almost as if code was resetting and starting all over by dropping the current execution of the code and starting over????
Here's my code. I'm using FLASH CS4 with all current updates IMPORTED FILES import fl.transitions.Tween; import fl.transitions.easing.*; stage.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_MOVE, moveBall); function moveBall(e:MouseEvent):void{ var ball:Ball = new Ball(); ball.x = mouseX; ball.y = mouseY; addChild(ball); var fadAway:Tween = new Tween(ball, "alpha", Strong.easeOut, 1, 0, .5, true); }
I would like to fade in and out and object with the colorTransform-method.When I apply the colorTransform to my object it does fade out the thing but not fade in.At first I set the alpha of the bitmapData to 0 (for the fade in-effect). After applying the colorTransform it does nothing. No fade in.Otherwise when I set the alpha of the bitmapData to 100 and let it fade out it works.I don't know where the error might be so is there anyone who might help me with this problem? Or do you know another method for achieving the same goal?My object (tempScore) is no display object. It is blitted onto a canvas.This is the function that shall colorTransform my object:[code]

I've been trying to get a simple fade out of a logo to work. I converted the logo to a movieclip called logo_mc I click on the logo_mc movieclip and insert this actionscript.
I have also tried putting the code on the main timeline without any success.
If I understand correctly this should see if the alpha is greater than 0 and if it is it should decrease the value by five increments until it reaches 0.
i have a video in my swf wish i start playing when i click a button.when i click the button the video fades in and starts playing..but i cant get the video to fade in and start play smoothly..anyone having an idea what to do to make the flvplayback fade in smooth?or do i need to use the built in tween functions instead of tweenlite?
import gs.TweenLite;import gs.easing.*;import fl.transitions.Tween;import fl.transitions.easing.*; var videoOn:Boolean = false; video4_mc.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,toggleVideo);
I would like to fade in a looping sound but nothing happens. this is used to play a sound via events.Code:dispatchEvent(new CustomEventSound(CustomEventSound.PLAY_SOUND, Main.SOUND_AMBIENT, false, true, false, 999999, 0, 0, setSoundVolume));this is the function to play a sound. the stop-function is almost identical to this one.[code]
I'm new to the forums and to actionscript. I've been trying to get a simple fade out of a logo to work. I converted the logo to a movieclip called logo_mc I click on the logo_mc movieclip and insert this actionscript.

I have a simple text fade movie clip that will "play" but won't work when I "Test Movie." What am I missing? I don't regularly use Flash as of yet, and have been successful before, but this is ridiculous - and I know I'm probably missing something very simple.
I've created three keyframes on the main timeline, the first is empty, and so is the third. In the second I have a movieclip that contains a classic tween. The movieclip has an alpha of 0 at frame 1, and 100 at frame 15, then at 45 it does the same in reverse until frame 60. On the last frame (60) of my movie clip I have the code:
ActionScript Code: _root.gotoAndStop(3); For some reason when I test the movie, the fade effect will not work, and the screen will just be blank. I have the ActionScript Code: stop(); Code on frame 2 but none on the other frames.
I curenttly making a simple online portfolio using flash (as3). Each piece of work i'm displaying resides within a mc on the main time line, and within that each piece of my work lives in its own keyframe, so the site has a basic 'mc.gotoandstop("label")' navigation. I can get my images to fade in using a AS tween, but I want to get the previous image/piece of work to fade out before jumping to the selected key frame and fading in the selected work. Currently, the innards of my button function reads something like:
tween (fadeout) gotoandstop tween (fade in)
but this clearly not the right way to go about it? Is there a way of putting slight delay after the fade out tween in the function? To let it fully fade out before fading in the new work?
I have imported a psd template into Flash to link my buttons to a webpage, not sure which to use AS2 or AS3 , so I locked all the other layers on the template. right clicked on the actual button I wanted [linked] > Covert To Symbol > Gave Instance Name, then what exactly do I do next? Click on the button again? I have this code which I believe worked once :
clickhere_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, fl_ClickToGoToWebPage); function fl_ClickToGoToWebPage(event:MouseEvent):void navigateToURL(new URLRequest("http://www.youtube.com"), "_blank");
I am trying to embed the goto next frame and stop code snippet into a symbol. Its basically a box that a user can click that will allow them to go to the next frame. The instanced symbol will be resized from frame to frame etc. I ve been told that if I embed the code within a movieclip within the symbol it should work, however I am severely frustrated as nothing is happening.
Create a symbol (I ve tried Graphic and MovieClip), name it A. Within that symbol I put in an instance of a Movie clip named B, which is just a square.Back to the top symbol A, in the timeline I add the code snippet go to next frame and stop.I have 5 frames in the main timeline which all have stop actions if that makes any difference?
ovbutton.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, fl_ClickToGoToWebPage_5); function fl_ClickToGoToWebPage_5(event:MouseEvent):void {[code].....
However, within firefox (7.0.1), once the back button is pressed the button does nothing. Works great with every other browser. It basically only works once, until I reload the page.
Just a single button that will call an action script. That action script will call
private var m_MicCnx:NetConnection; //connection over the server private var m_MicStream:NetStream; //Audio Output private var m_Microphone:Microphone; //micro, attach with m_MicStream's audio content
[code]....
I think this is the most simple setup I can get that will publish a microphone to a RTMP stream. This is an attempt to shave down a larger product. This demo will help a third party create a RTMP Stream Reader for mp3.How do I move from this snippet of code to a flash application? Most tutorials I've found so far were either about using menus or creating very complex animations. I just need a single button that will call this, or maybe an auto-load.
I would imagine it's a simple enough bit of additional code, but I'm no programmer, and trawling the Web has proved fruitless to date...ithin Flash CS5 and using AS 3, I'm attempting to create a series of drag-and-drop interactions for a learning exercise where items must be dragged into the correct box with positive and negative feedback being generated as a result of where the learner drops the item. All I need is the code to link the drag and drop code snippet (which I have working) to a specific object/location on the stage (which I cannot find nor figure out for the life of me)
