This is what i have so far but the blood does not play then stop/pause when the blood reaches the bottom point of the title ( like its meant to) just the end frame of the blood on the title is displayed - no movement can this be done.
I want a movie clip (let's call it homecontent_MC) with 100 frames play to frame 80 and stop.Then when someone clicks a button on the navigation bar (home, about, services, contact, etc...) homecontent_MC would then begin playing from it's position (frame 80) til it reaches 100, at which point it wouldn't be on screen, and the movie clip that corresponds to the navigation button press (say services_MC...) would start from frame 1 and continue til it stops at it's frame 80...
I would like a certain part of a movie clip to play dependant on the button pressed. And to be honest I am a massive newb when it comes to flash[code]...
This is what I have at the moment and it isn't working, I know this is wrong but i cannot think how to write it the way AS3 would understand it. The Idea is that I would like the Movie clip to play dependant on what button was pressed. So if number one button was pressed it would play frames 1-10 of the movie clip, (and then loop), and if number two button was pressed it would play frames 1-20 of the movie clip ( and then loop). And so on for about 15 different buttons.

i want it to be stopped when tjhe page opens then when you mouse over the clip plays to frame 10 and STOPS while the mouse is over it then when the mouse is no longer over it i want the movie clip to play in reverse and stop
We have a short video of a street, which we are looking to pause when it is clicked and then all the hazards turn into drawings and flash. Then when you hover over a hazard it tells you some info about it.I have managed to get the video to stop when clicked, using the below code but can't get the movie clip of the flashing hazards to play at the same time. Is it even possible?

I am new to AS3 and am trying to work out how to stop a movie clip from playing on mouse click. At the moment I have created a movieclip which plays when the user clicks it, but I now want to be able to stop the movieclip if the user clicks on it again. At the moment I have the following code:

I know I have to make a button and i just copied the initial stage of the movie and converted that into a button.
I have a .swf that loads into a movie clip in a Flash website. The .swf has all necessary stops to play once and stop once loaded. When tested outside of the movie clip, it does what it should, but once loaded, it loops forever and the speed is faster. How do I make this stop looping? (This only happenes to .swf that were made in CS4, doesn't happen with older .swfs that were made in Macromedia)
I am pretty new to ActionScript 3 and Flash. I don't want my movie clip to play unless the person's mouse curser is on the movie clip for more than a second. If the person just runs their curser over the movie clips really quickly, then it should do nothing. It must be more than a second. How do I code that?

I only got into Flash after AS3 so I am pretty ignorant of AS2.I'm editing a client's piece and am trying to create a 'Play Again' button at the end of the movie. There is a button inside the main content movie clip with this code on it but it is not working..
I've created a video player using the flv component. I have images of cue points. The user should be able to click on an image and the video should skip or start at that cue point
Basically the code below has been designed so that a video starts at 52 seconds (rather than the beginning) when you press play. It works good right now, starts where it's supposed to, but I want to change the code so that it autoplays the video starting at 52 seconds. The problem with this though, is that when I try and set it for autoplay, the video starts at the beginning and doesn't wait for it to load to 52 seconds before it autoplays. Any input on the coding? I need it just so that the autoplay doesn't kick in until the video is loaded to the 52 second point
Is there a way to allow a user to move playhead to any point on the progress bar (including much ahead of the loaded portion of the movie) and resume play from there? Presently a user can skip ahead only as far as the download happened.

However, the beam clip never plays. It will play if I remove the beam.stop() but it will only play in a continuous loop. How do I make it where when I press the space bar the beam clip plays once and the stops?
I am importing a movie clip as a symbol from a SWF using Embed to a AS3 program and, after attaching the movie clip to the stage, the movie clip keeps repeating. Before you ask I have indeed creating a script layer and put a "stop()" on the last frame. In fact the swf containing the symbol works perfectly fine when executed on its own or in Flashdevelop (my choosen IDE). Its only when imported does the clip keep repeating.Here is the code:
in my dynamic gallery my empty movie clips that load the images have their registration point at the top left of frame.this means that even if i have images of different sizes, I have to make them all the same size and then with white borders if necessary so that they all display in the same place. it would be better if they were centred inside the emoty movie clip and the movie clips registration point was at the centre.. is this possible ?
I've received an .fla file with a design and am trying to play with it using ActionScript. I've got a symbol of a star on stage (movie clip) that I want to animate with AS. The movie clip's registration point is set to bottom right corner.
I video file using a cue point to show a movie clip at a certain spot. The movie clip becomes visual at the correct cue point however it doesn't animate, it shows the last frame of the animation and not the beginning.
I have a fairly complex movie clip with a bunch of animations in it, and it seems that the registration point for it is at some random location in the middle of it all.
Is there a way to set the registration point of a movie clip programmatically in actionscript? I want to be able to use createEmptyMovieClip(...) and then set the registration point to the center of the clip in order to do a symmetrical rotation.
