ActionScript 2.0 :: Get The Video To Stop When Clicked, But Can't Get The Movie Clip Of The Flashing Hazards To Play?

We have a short video of a street, which we are looking to pause when it is clicked and then all the hazards turn into drawings and flash. Then when you hover over a hazard it tells you some info about it.I have managed to get the video to stop when clicked, using the below code but can't get the movie clip of the flashing hazards to play at the same time. Is it even possible?

On looking into buttons, I understand that to get a movie clip to play when a button is clicked you simply place the movie clip on the buttons 'hit' state. Having done this it does not work? Have I read wrong? Also the movie clip has a background the full size of the stage area. So when I attach this to the button, the button changes size to the same size as the movie? (i.e. whole stage area). How do I keep the button in it's original size while still playing the movie clip with large background?

I'm using a movie clip as a button to show content on a page, effectively its like a new page of the website. Problem is, with the script im using for it, once the content is show, the button is still active and if clicked again, will re-load the content. I want a way to effectively disable the button whist the content is shown.

Normally, I want the movie to play the tween that spans from 25 to 35, then stop UNLESS a button has been clicked back on frame 24 - then I want the tween played from 25 to 35 then jump to 46.Problem is, in the button function code, if I have...gotoAndPlay(25); gotoAndPlay(46);the timeline jumps straight to 46 - it doesn't play 25-35. Why?I tried putting a timer in between the two gotoAndPlays, but itignored that too and jumped to 46.o how do I tell it - 'play from 25-35 and stop, unless but_a was pressed back on Frame 24 - then play 25-35, and then play 46' ?

I want to play a movie clip when I click a button.I made 3 states: inicial (how it looks before anything happens) (up)hover (plays an animation after waiting 20 frames) (over)click (plays an animation right away) (down)I placed these movie clips inside of my button's up, over, and down frames. This works great except when I click, i'll need to click and hold for my animation to get past the first frame.

I want a movie clip (let's call it homecontent_MC) with 100 frames play to frame 80 and stop.Then when someone clicks a button on the navigation bar (home, about, services, contact, etc...) homecontent_MC would then begin playing from it's position (frame 80) til it reaches 100, at which point it wouldn't be on screen, and the movie clip that corresponds to the navigation button press (say services_MC...) would start from frame 1 and continue til it stops at it's frame 80...

I have a movie clip that runs in its own timeline. I want to stop the movie clip from playing whenever the mouse is clicked (in this application I am actually using a touch screen and I want the movie clip to stop playing whenever the screen is touched). In addition, I want the movie to rewind back to frame one so that none of the movie clip images are left on the screen.

I would like a certain part of a movie clip to play dependant on the button pressed. And to be honest I am a massive newb when it comes to flash[code]...
This is what I have at the moment and it isn't working, I know this is wrong but i cannot think how to write it the way AS3 would understand it. The Idea is that I would like the Movie clip to play dependant on what button was pressed. So if number one button was pressed it would play frames 1-10 of the movie clip, (and then loop), and if number two button was pressed it would play frames 1-20 of the movie clip ( and then loop). And so on for about 15 different buttons.

i have an animated title that i would add some blood to roll across the title (as a flash movie clip) and then stop at a certain point - Forever!

This is what i have so far but the blood does not play then stop/pause when the blood reaches the bottom point of the title ( like its meant to) just the end frame of the blood on the title is displayed - no movement can this be done.

I'm working on a simple play/pause control for a movie clip.
Is there some property on movieclips that I can query to find if the movieclip is currently playing or stopped?
Otherwise, I figure I could add one myself, and alter it every time I play or stop the movie clip, but I don't want to.

i want it to be stopped when tjhe page opens then when you mouse over the clip plays to frame 10 and STOPS while the mouse is over it then when the mouse is no longer over it i want the movie clip to play in reverse and stop

I need to be able to unload it if the user jumps to another part of the timeline. I have tried to just unload the movieclip, but it still seems that youtube is streaming data to the swf. If I do it locally, it crashes the application. If I put it on the server, it makes it clear that youtube is still loading even though the movie clip has been unloaded.

Is it possible (in AS2 or AS3) to have a button that starts a video as well as an MC at the same time? The idea being that the video will play alongside a movieclip that contains animated quotes from the dialog of the video, so syncing would be critical to.

I'm in the process of switching from AS 2.0 to AS 3.0, so apologies if this is really obvious.. I am modifying/updating an old template for a client and am inserting customized navigation buttons. One is a play/pause button and I was able to swap the old buttons for the new in the library and show them on the stage with no problems. When I export to swf to preview the movie, the new button just flashes repeatedly between the different "play" and "pause" states (up, over, etc).
I checked to make sure I didn't change any names of the buttons or movie clips. I tried inserting stop(); but it doesn't work...probably because I'm not putting it in the right spot. When I select the button, it has "up, over, down, hit" in the Timeline and says the selection can't have any actions applied to it.

I am pretty new to ActionScript 3 and Flash. I don't want my movie clip to play unless the person's mouse curser is on the movie clip for more than a second. If the person just runs their curser over the movie clips really quickly, then it should do nothing. It must be more than a second. How do I code that?

I normally write javascript code, so I wonder how to do this. In JS "Microsoft IS" you'll write code like this:

The graphic designer creates flash drawings and then converts whatever objects to movieclips. Then passes them over to me. All these "mc" need the same action applied to them. So I don't need to know how many they are or their names.

When you click on a button it loads the movie clip that is on the main timeline. What I want to be able to do is when you click on another button the movie clip that you are on reverses and the new movie clip loads up.
