I have been using flash for years deploying video for the web.For the life of me I cannot get my .FLV file to import into Flash from my URL.It's already on the server here is the address.I've always used this method.The only thing that is different is I'm now using GoDaddy to host my site instead of 1and1. http:[url]...........I do have the .F4V locally on my machine but I've never been able to get that to play from the remote server... meaning-

It plays great locally on my machine.When I upload everything uploads. When I check it all out online, I get no video.
I am able to successfully use the "Live View" function within CS4. I am also able to successfully preview within IE and Firefox. I've put all files in the appropriate location on the remote server. All files are in my /wwwroot/, except the two files that are in the Script folder, which is in my root. My domain host claims flv files are supported, and Adobe technical support eperiences the same behavior as I, they can play locally, but not remotely. Adobe technical support claims the cause of the problem is the remote server.
I have a 30 sec flash file that was converted from a .flv to .swf in flash CS5.I place the .swf file in Dreamweaver CS5.The file is only 57k the .flv was 3,560k. The flash plays perfect locally.When uploaded thru the "put" function with Dreamweaver the .swf file uploads along with the java and expessistall.swf. The flash will not display on the website.
My client has asked me to provide a template for an investor relations section of their website. The HTML page or template for this page will be at the service providers site, but all the images etc. for the page will be linked to files on my clients server. Everything looks fine, but the absolute URL's in the .swf file back to my clients site aren't working.

I'm wondering if I could use the development server for a small scale website depolyment with restricted traffic, from a commercial server, such as goDaddy?And if so, what''s the method? Do I download the package from Adobe to my local hard drive and install over the network, or copy the package to the server and install it online?
I am relatively new to Flash development. I created my first movie with a poster board. It appears to work fine on my local machine, however, when I publish it to my production server, the poster board displays, but the click to play button does not play the movie. The page is located at: [URL]. I copied all of the published files directly to the production server.
I'm trying to use uploadify to upload images to a remote server. I've have done everything I can think of for the cross scripting issue or whatever. Here is what i've done. scriptAccess to 'Always' in the uploadify function. I have a crossdomain.xml on my ww2 server with uploadify.swf in the root as well. I have uploaded my javascript jquery lib file to the remote ww2 server and put it in the header I put the jquery.uploadify.js and the swfobject.js in the root directory as well.
If I try to click the X to cancel a file I get the error: Error calling method on NPObject Or uploads don't work either. If anyone can help with this that would be great. If there are any other good flash based or non flash based multi uploaders that will do remote files with no issue please let me know.
I want to understand something if it is possible to do it in flash movie. I want to make flash animation with let say 4 pics. The animation will be used as an advertisement on other sites. But I want the images in the flash movie to be changed from time to time. Thus I want the images to be loaded from my server while the movie is been shown on other sites. I have accomplished it within the CS4 Flash development application using the HTTP Server but when I publish the document it gives me a blank stage the data that shows in the Test Movie swf is not showing when the SWF is on its own... I am thinking it has something to do with crossdomain security that is built in... is there a way I can accomplish this? I prefer the FTP access but will use the HTTP access...
I am having no success playing a short FLV through a SWF on my hosted web site. The video plays without problem on my local PC. This problem only occurs with SWF and HTML created with Flash CS5. With Flash CS3 the problem does not occur. The only difference I see between CS5 and CS3 files is this: There is a file called AC_RunActiveContent.js created with the SWF and HTML through CS3. But that file does not exist with the SWF and HTML created through CS5. Since the video plays on my local PC, I assume that AC_RunActiveContent.js is not required for newest version of Flash player. My web host provider assures me that MIME settings are correct and Window 2005 is the operating system. I am at my wits end trying to determine the cause and fix for this problem. Please give me some advice for resolution.
I did a bit of search without success to find if anything like this was answered before.Sorry for asking a silly question, I am a newbie and hence maybe missing something obvious.I used the Encoder to create the flv file and embedded the file in the timeline and the swf file plays the video just fine locally. For some reason, it's not playing after I uploaded it to the server. I did copy over all the files (swf)s) & flv). It's a very small video and I can't even see the video(just blank) while running the swf file after uploading the files on to the server. All other frames are working as expected.

I have created a dynamic test field and give it an instance name of myTextArea. Then I uploaded the .txt file to my server in a testing folder. At the beginning of the paragraph in the .txt file I put homeText= Then going back to Flash CS3 I made an Action Script layer and entered the following code there;

I have a Flash slideshow that will only play in a browser if I click File > Open and open the .swf file locally and directly (not in a web page). It has never played in a webpage, remotely on the web server or locally on the Wamp server. It plays correctly in Flash when I test it.I have tried uploading the HTML page that Flash generates (without any changes), and it won't even play in that file. I want my app (AIR app ported on iOS) to be able to show file located on the remote server and open it with default app (if there's one on device). Is it possible (maybe one can somehow use openWithDefaultApp here)?
UPD: I succeed with downloading (into File.documentsDirectory). I can't force iPad to open downloaded files.

I'm using the RTMFP protocol to publish and play video and audio, but i'm with a little problem. I installed the FMS 4 Development Server in a Windows Server machine located in our local network and it works perfectly. In order to deploy our application, we have a remote server with a fresh install of the Ubuntu 10.04 Server, and the FMS 4 installed in this server. In other server we have the Java and Flex application, which will be used in the client browser.
The problem is that when trying to change the NetConnection url to the remote FMS server, which is the Ubuntu server, the netconnection can't connect to it. When changing to the RTMP protocol it connects, but with the RTMFP don't. I can't find any information in the log files or anything else.
I am writing a game where positions of an object are being exchanged between the two flash clients through a java server. The secnario goes simply like this:
PlayerA ---> Server : "Position X + Position Y+ " Server ---> PlayerB: "Position X + Position Y+ "
and it works both ways of course.the problem here is that on my computer where i use "localhost" everything is fine and the data is exchanged seamlessly .. when I loaded the server on a remote host the message received strangely turns into something like "Position X + NaN" (i.e. the y position is wrongly parsed by the server), what is weird even more, is that sometimes, the message gets parsed correctly..the server is wrote in java and it is exactly the same source code that works on my machine that fails over the internet
I'm aware this sounds quite involved, but would it be possible to make a Flash button counter that would store the number of clicks (that it displays) on a remote server; so even if the page was closed and re-opened it would still show "2" or "11" for example. In addition to that, would it be possible to only allow one click per IP address? So for example, one specific IP address (user) couldn't keep clicking it over and over and increasing the number.
The reason I wanted to use a Flash object as opposed to something like jQuery was because I want to embed it on a forum that isn't mine. Obviously I don't have access to the site's files/modules etc. Essentially it's almost like the Facebook "like button." It displays the number of likes, as well is storing the value on a remote server.
I am designing a fairly simple site made up of a swf (AS3) in an html page. I'm relatively new to it all, but was doing ok until recently! The problem I have is this: The swf within the html loads perfectly from my local drive in all browsers, but when published to the remote server does not display correctly in Safari or Chrome... It is fine in Firefox.

We have a Flash application provided by a vendor. It reads its parameters from an xml file on our web server's file system. However, it can also be spoofed to read its parameters from an xml file sitting on another domain's web server. At first we thought crossdomain.xml might be able to fix this, but we've researched it and understand the purpose of crossdomain.xml. It won't solve this issue.Are there any ways of enforcing that a Flash application reads its input file only from the same server where the Flash application was served? Or is the recommendation just to initialize variables within the Flash app, not relying on an external file.
need to create a simple application that will essentially function as a remote slideshow broadcast service. One presenter will see the show (full screen) and will be able to proceed to the next slide, all other attendees will only see the show (no control) and will see the next slide when the presenter proceeds. I have a Flash Media Interactive Server which can be utilized.
I'm an application developer, and my standard usage of Flash is as follows: I'm creating an executable application, which contains a ShockwaveFlash object instance, which in turn is displaying a Flash Movie Clip - also created by myself. The executable application and the contained Flash clip are communicating via the ActionScript ExternalInterface (using XML strings) and the FSCommand.
I'd like to be able to debug the ActionScript code of the Flash file while I'm running/debugging my executable application. For that, I need to be able to start a remote debugging session from the Flash object running inside my executable. Problem is, I did not find any way of doing this.
When I publish the Flash SWF file with "permit debugging" checked, I'm able to start a remote debugging session when I'm displaying the file in a player or a browser (the "debugging" option is shown at the right-click menu of the Flash object), but I'm not able to do the same with the object inside my executable (the "debugging" option doesn't exist on the menu).
Environment Details: The executable application is using the ShockwaveFlash COM file to create the ShockwaveFlash object. I have made a very simple RSS display that pulls a XML twitter feed from twitter.com. My problem is that it works locally, but will not work on the server. I have tried adding a crossdomain.xml file, adding allowDomain() method and setting the embed param's allowScriptAccess to always. Still It will not work through a browser.
My client can't store the .swf file on the same server as the referencing html file.I tried using an absolute URL in the html to load the .swf file from a different server, but it doesn't seem to be working, (just a blank page, no errors or anything).I'm using swfobject 2 generator to generate the html page. Works fine if both swf and html are in the same directory, doesn't work when they're not.[code]

I must say that I am reaching the end of my tether with Flash Builder and Flex. Firstly, I have built this wonderful app that I want to start using but it is data driven meaning that when I built it, I created it on my localhost. The PHP scripts were generated from Flash Builder and I have edited them to make them more secure. I have all my services working 100% and I have this brilliant app, but I can only run it on localhost. I have done everything necessary and installed Zend Framework on both servers, I have configured Zend properly but I cannot work out how to change the mobile app to now read from my remote web server.To me this is useless as I want to be able to deploy this app to others to use when they are out and about. how to change it from looking at a localhost to looking to my remote web host?
I am using the "loadSound" method to load an external mp3. The problem is I need to load the mp3 from a remoter server (the file is not local to the swf). From my searching, I can't seem to find out if this can be done.

I am using a scrollbar component with a text field. Everything works when I test the movie. However it does not work on my remote server or when I test the .swf in an html doc tested locally through my browser. What am I missing?
