The situation is an interactive text book using the Webkit view of Adobe Air. I have static (built-in) html content that the user can highlight and bookmark (annotate). This mechanism all works, but I need to be able to store and restore these annotations. I would rather not store a modified version of the DOM, but rather use the static version then reapply the users annotations that I am storing in a SQLite DB along with other needed metadata. DOM manipulation is pretty new for me, and so far my attempts to serialize a DOM::range have failed. What I realized though is that I really seem to only need the start and end containers and the start and end offsets. Then I can recreate the range with document.createRange().
View 2 RepliesI have a tree component in my stage and i am using _visible property to make that component hide and show. but even after setting the _visible propery false the space of that component is showing a small green shade in my page. So i tried the

property to remove the component fully from the stage. thats working fine but thats not restoring the same movieClip. Is there any options to restore that movieClip again?

The documentation for this control is simply horrible. I have an application that will have a live video stream and I'm looking for a way to make the VideoDisplay control restore its connection in case of the occurrence of any of these specific scenarios:
The application starts and the stream is not online yet. The application is streaming and the user is disconnected from the internet. The application is streaming and the video server crashes and reboots.
I'm using Wowza Media Server and Wirecast to test this. 1 and 3 don't work, I'm not sure number 2 does. I made number 1 work by adding this very questionable piece of code:

I have a button class which disables the current button when it is clicked, the problem is I need to restore the mouseclick event to all the other button or eventually if you work through the menu all the button will be disabled. How can I iterate through all non-clicked items and restore the clicks to the non-clicked buttons?

When the middle frame is returned to, clicks no longer change anything. I believe that the actions of the 'left' frame are replacing the one's in the middle frame so then it is told to gotoAndStop to itself.
I'd like to know if that is indeed what is happening and how I can make it stop.

Here is the problem: When I maximize or restore my window, this event is called several times in a real short period of time, not letting enough time to my method to run completely before another one starts... I'd like to know if there is anyway of only run this method in the end of each resize movement.

View 2 RepliesI have text input boxes. There is validation for each of the boxes using numberValidator. Now, the thing is that am using alert box to show if any error occurs.
Flowchart ::
1> Insert value in textBox.
2> NumberValidator validates the input on "trigger=change".
3> If error, alert message is displayed. The user clicks OK to go back to form.
4> Focus set back to the TextBox.
5> But, alert box makes the text input value blank / null. i.e. Both the previous error value entered by user and the default correct value will not be displayed now.
Display the most recent correct value that was entered in the text box. Not the default of any other, but the most recent correct value entered by the user.
I work with Flash Pro allmost 11 hours per day and every while i get a error which messes up everything. Approximetly i get this after about 2-3 hours withevery project.After i get this error there is no chance to test movies afterwards.I see a fast flash of the loader window but it dissapears so fast i cant even really see if it is loader.
View 1 RepliesI have a window, the window I programmatically change the size of the window depending on the current view it is displaying. The user cannot resize the window them self, but they can maximize the window.
The problem is if the view is changed while it is maximized, the maximized window size changes, I do not want this, I want it to only change the size of the non-maximized window.
My first thought is to just check if the window is maximized, and if so do not resize it...but the issue there is then when it is restored at a different view then when it was maximized it will not restore to the new size it should be.
I have a site that plays either .mp3 or .flv files depending on what is selected from the menu. Menu loads in from xml. I get "unable to make connection with server or unable to find flv on server" when I try to play the video. But the video and audio files are all in the same directory and the mp3 files play fine. I think I'm having a problem with the setMedia command. Here's the code that loads the video and audio files.

I got this early version of a sliding menu. See file "scrolling.fla". Its got four images that slides into place when you click on the small colored buttons. The thing is I want the movie to quit/shut down when I press the red button, AFTER the red image has moved back in place.The code for the red button is:

It works in a sense but I dont want to use "on (rollOut)", because you might shut down the slideshow involuntary moving the cursor on your way to the other buttons. So the question is, yet again, how to quit the movie after the red image is back in place?

The code for this works just fine when it's placed in root, but when i put this in a movieclip by its own, a can't get it to snap and control anymore.I would like to but this code and movieclip and put in in a clip called "scroll". It worked previously - I created an Actions Layer and was able to add action script, however, when I try to open it back up to edit the action script I wrote, neither the F9 shortcut nor the Windows>Actions pulls up the Actions Panel.
