My X-Axis shows multiple values of In-Progress, but I just need one. Is it possible to represent such relationship using BarChart. Any other Flex chart is Advisable.
add a click event handler to the vertical axis (or any axis) of a barchart in flex? If I add the handler to the BarChart itself, it looks as though the event doesn't fire unless you click on the actual chart, not the axes.

However, the text in the category axis can be too long to display on the chart, so flex adjusts the font size automatically to the point that the data is either unreadable, or the text is partially visible.The length of the text varies every time new data comes in, so I can't set the gutterLeft attribute to a static value at runtime.Two things that come to my mind are:Change the gutter dynamically according to new data/Have a scroll bar on the categoryaxis so that if any text won't fit in the space, the user can scroll to see it.[code]

I need to do this, because I need to scroll one period at a time and would like to hook this up to keyboard events. I couldn't find anything in the documentation here: [URL]. I want to zoom in and out, by setting the minimum and the maximum attribute of the dateTimeAxis with a slider. I have created a flex chart with multiple Y axis. I want that it shows origin for one of the data series. It shows the line, but on the wrong plase.
Maybe it is because I didn't tell to GridLines which axis use as a source? But, I am not sure if it is possible to do...

How do you display data on a LineChart that cuts off where there is no more data? For example, if I am showing a chart of company revenue for 2010, the chart should only show up to July now (with August and forward on showing no data). This would make the line in the line chart break and dissappear off at about midway through the year.

View 1 RepliesI'm working with an Adobe Flex project and I have data I'm plotting against a DateTimeAxis (X-axis) but because there are a lot of points, I have to do some manipulation and remove some objects in the array (I do this by copying data to another array, removing items, then copying the new array into the original array). However, sometimes after I do this, the date labels disappear off of the x-axis! Why does this happen? I look through my array and I cannot find a reason its occurring (no objects with nothing in them, everything appears in chronological order).

I'm trying to use a BarChart in Flex. I'd like it to order the bars according to the order of the ArrayCollection I fed it. i.e. data at index 0 should be the first bar on top.However, Flex is giving me the exact reverse order. i.e. data at index 0 is not the last bar in bottom. How could I tell the BarChart to reverse the order other than reversing the order of my ArrayCollection?Here's the block of code in my script tag:

When a user clicks on a button, i need to calculate some values, put them on the "myCalculatedValue" and add another BarSeries as a comparison. I'm doing this:

But the BarChart does not change at all. Is there some way to refresh the chart after adding the new BarSeries?
I simply don't know how to do this. This is the code I have.

Is there a way to detect when a BarChart finishes rendering? I am trying to add a snapshot of the BarChart to a PDF file but before doing this I need to wait until the BarChart has finished loading.
View 1 RepliesThis task doesn't seem too tough, but it has been blocking me for the last couple hours. I am doing a stacked bar chart, and I want the labels to be horizontally and vertically centered within each Bar Segment. The labels are set to be "inside". Such, you can easily center the label horizontally by setting label-align:middle, but there doesn't seem to be anything that can handle the vertical aspect.
Next approach was to create a custom component of the Bar Chart, but that go extremely messy when I was messing with the rendering functions. I thought it would be just modifying this line: v.labelY=v.y + barSeries.seriesRenderData.renderedYOffset - barSeries.seriesRenderData.renderedHalfWidth; but it hasn't worked. Attached is what the bar chart looks like now. And just to clarify, I would like these labels(manual in the picture) to be vertically centered.
Im in need of a simple code which makes a MovieClip move side to side horizontally preferably using the attachMovie function.The MovieClip must not go off the screen so the movement will have to be limited within the stage size.

Then I changed some data values to negative and my axis became not aligned anymore.

I looked at different flash chart software (free and commercial) and could find only one that supports the feature I want: map my dataset on the predefined X axis. Let me give an example.
Let's say my X axis is time. The time is represented in hours. So let's assume my X axis has last 24 hours. Now the data I have in the database contains data coming every 50 minutes. My goal is to have a chart that will show this data. The point on the graph will not correspond to X axis values one to one.
The simple solution (and all charts support this) is to set X axis resolution to 1 minute and only show "ticks" on A axis every hour. Assuming that chart supports "null" values (and most of them are) - it works fine as an idea.
The problem is that in this case (for all of the charts I know) I have to provide XML/json/CSV as a source of data that will contain 24 hours * 60 minutes points of data, with only ~29 (24 hours, every 50min) containing meaningful data. This puts a stress on 1) database, 2) more traffic 3) makes chart less responsive.Are there any flash graphs that will accept a dataset of ~29 values and map into 24 points on X axis.

I've put together this simple code for an SWF with three roll over images (called: Training, Resources and Contact).When I roll over Training I would like the symbol Training_txt to tween its alpha to 1 (from 0) and tween its y axis to 220 (from 83).When I roll out of Training I would like to run the two tweens in reverse.
This works fine for each of the three roll over images, so long as each tween is allowed to fully execute before a new tween is started. The problem arises if i quickly move the mouse curser between the three roll over images before the previous tweens have finished executing.In this instance, the tweened objects start to behave erratically. They usually return to their original position as per the roll_out tween but then start jumping between y axis 200 and y axis 83 (without tweening - they just appear).

I am trying to place an image besides the label in y-axis. So I have created a custom label renderer(A HBox containing and ). The source for the image has to be set based on a property present in the data provider. The problem is, I am not able to access the BarSeriesItem in the fnSetSource() method.

View 1 RepliesI'm currently learning Flash (CS4, AS3) and am creating a game. I have currently 1 flv file with 4 scenes, I then move from left to right and then to scene 2 and go from left to right. This is the game where items pop up that need to be clicked on and you get points.
Is there any way I can combine these onto 1 scene? Flash only allows you to have a maximum of 2880px wide.The reason for this is the transition between the scenes is RUBBISH and that my AS is not working correctly in between scenes (it loses values).
When using a Flex chart, the y-axis is drawn as a thick (about 8px) grey line. Is it possible to change this to be just a thin line like the x-axis?
