I have a win32 window in which I have a child window which runs a swf. Thus i have a swf running inside my main win32 window created using c++. Now how can i make the events of flash(swf) appear in my c++ code. For example how can i send a string from my flash to c++ ?
Does ExternalInterface help in this regard ? If yes, then how can c++ recieve what flash sends ??
I know it is possible to make instances/children interact with other objects by adding an eventListener to each child/instance.But how do you make a random instance/child interact with another random instance/child?Example: let a bunch of spaceships get damaged by a bulletrain by using addChild to place both spaceships and bullets on the stage.

I know I can decompile it to find out all the commands and would like to make scripts to automate the game by calling procedures in the actionscript of the game. So I guess I would like to make a plugin also that would insert this console into any flash app and this would be handy for a lot of things. Then if anyone wants to hack a new game, u just decompile it and make a handbook of methods for people to make scripts with. So how would I go about making this console? I don't know if I could make a swf interact with the game or if it has to be compiled into the game's swf. Or if it is easier with javascript, that is cool too. maybe we can make a javascript library just for this. anyone can tell me more?

1. How can I make a class object interact with an object on stage?
For example, when I have a square (mc_Square) with class "square" attached to it and I want it to trace "Colliding!" and print the X and Y of the mc_Box on contact with an on-stage *hollow* box (mc_Box) that has no class attached to it.how to do it vice-versa would also be awesome .
2. How can I make a class object interact with the same class object? For example, when I have two squares (mc_Square) that both have the class "square" attached to it and when they collide, it prints the X and Y of both of them.
3. How can I make a class object interact with a different class object?
For example, when I have two squares mc_Square1 with class "square1 (that also has a variable Primary=true written in it)" and a mc_Square2 with class "square2"; When they collide, the one with Primary=true would be removed and it's X,Y position traced.
I am trying to find out how to make one .as file code interact with another .as file's code.like, if I had one .as file that specified options of movies and then when the user clicks on a movie (loaded through xml) it uses code from another .as file to load the correct movie.

I'm trying to run my swf by going directly to it on my serer eg(www.example.com/mySWF.swf), later I will embed it using HTML or PHP, however Im wondering why it keeps getting resized to the window size, I want it to stay the size of the swf. In the publish settings I set dimension to Match Movie, and I set scale to No Scale in the HTML tab of publish settings, am I doing something wrong or can you not have it stay its original size without emedding it into html?

I was trying to make a popup window so I was just writing the code, published... and staring to nothing. I thought I made something wrong, so I checked the help and copied this piece of code from there (it's the code under MovieClip.createEmptyMovieClip()):

But when i test the movie out a blank page with the word "object" in the left corner appears behind the photo-gallery I have in the pop-up. When I upploaded it and tried if it would work "on the net" the button that brings up the pop-up does nothing.

Right now it opens in the same window and the user then clicks a button on that page to return to the site, but that is sloppy because the music starts all over again, etc.[URL]

View 5 RepliesI am working on a flash site where the user scrolls down in their browser to view all of the content, the problem is that when the user goes to the next page of the site the browser is still scrolled down to the bottom and so they have to scroll to the top of the page to view the content they must read first. Is there any way I can avoid this without using scroll bars in flash or is there a way I can reset the scrollbar of the browser the flash site is being viewed in?
View 2 Replieshow to make the output window auto scroll? i.e. If I have an enter frame event that increments a number and I trace that number, when the traces fill the output window, I cannot see the current traces. I have to go grab the scroll bar and drag it down and since it is constantly changing it is tough to keep up.
