i'm using loadmovie() to load a youtube video player inside my flash website but i want to specify the width and height so it can fit my box.This is my code:

I already use various tools to extract the text and produce a serious of high quality images from the file and the system works well. The last piece of the puzzle is to be able to highlight specific parts of the document to help users with accessibility issues.
However I cannot figure out how to calculate where the specific text is positioned on the page? Notes: The documents uploaded to the system are from 3rd parties, so fonts may be embedded. Meaning that I cannot be sure of the width of specific letters. The text to be highlighted may not be unique, the same text may be repeated How can I calculate the coordinates, height and width of a specific piece of text on a PDF, so that I can then draw a box around it?
I am trying to reference to top level (stage) width and height of the main stage for the placement of something located inside a movieclip on the stage.

But this seems to just relate to the width/height of the mc that my_loader is nested in...
I have tried the following and had no luck:

I was wondering if it is possible to make a new pop up window with specific width and height... by just using actionscript ( not javascript ) ....

I have a movieclip called box which is 30x30, and want it to repead along the x to form columns and along the y to form rows so that it makes a big rectangle of smaller squares. I've tried several software to change the video dimensions but as far as it seems all of them keep the same height-width ratio than in the original video. Is there any software that would allow me to change the height and width without keeping the same height/width ratio as in the original video file?
View 1 RepliesI'm loading an external video player SWF into a MC, but once loaded the size of the SWF is always wrong and for some reason takes up the whole stage area.
So i want to set the width and height of the SWF thats loaded. If i set the MC width/height then once the SWF loads it's no longer that size. So i have to have some kinda code, that says once the SWF has been loaded, to resize it to 360x240 pixels. [code]...

How do I load the swf into a new *fla that has my standard stage width:995 and stage height: 150? Without distorting the swf to much. Swf could be loading into a MC or loading directly onto stage.I tried the loadMovie and loaded the swf into a empty MC. But I can't set the MCs width and height.

I have code here that allows a user to load an image from their local machine to the SWF (using FileRerence). The movieclip is 500x400 in size and I need the width of the selected image to resize to 500, and crop off any height beyond 400.

I have tried it once wherein I hide the targetted movie clip and try to utilize the INIT functin to check for initialize. This works pretty good except that a little dynamic animation I need tends to act a little later than it should creating a bug if u proceed immediately.

How do I find the total maximum width and height of a movie clip with respect to every frame of that movie clip?
So for instance if the movie clip was circles of radius 5 registered at their center at various positions where:
frame 1:circle.x=-30
frame 2:circle.x=0
frame 3:circle.x=30
The total maximum width of movie clip would be 30--30+5+5=70.

I need to load an external movie file into the root of my main movie, so it replaces the main movie, and when it loads, it loads at a specific frame (or label)of that newly loaded movie.
Explanation: My main movie, lets call it "Main.swf", has a button which is part of a drop down (tree) list. When you click on the button, I want to load my second movie called "bearings.swf", and to immediately go to frame #2 of the "bearings.swf" movie.
