Add Links To Images In A Flash?

I have recently downloaded a flash website template.In this particular template, there is a flash slideshow with 5 images. Would like to know how can i add link to the 5 images in the flash?

I've been trying to develop a Flash Cube that has different images on each face as well as individual links for each, but I'm having trouble coding it - I can either get it with images and one link per cube, or no images and individual links!!(I've seen this elsewhere) I'd like it to freeze its rotation when you hover over each face as well.

I am looking to create a flash gallery which imports images from a mysql datbase and links associated to the image which will also be in the databae . The idea is to show the user in a carousel style the last picture added to the database at the front and if that or any other picture within the carousel is clicked another swf will load.Using php will do I just don't know where to start.

Is there a way to create a url link on an image loaded from an xml file. So for example in my photo gallery, I have my set of thumbnails which when clicked on would show the larger image. I'd like to click on the larger image and have another window popup and go to the proper url with an even larger image.[code]...

I put together a "photo gallery" using the tutorial I found at kirupa:

and i was just wondering what kind of function would I need to make each one of the images clickable AND go to separate url's. I figured out that I would NEED a function and a separate array that would link up the URL's to the Images but I don't know how to really make the images clickable in the first place.

links not showing up from my external xml file? I am trying to load an xml file that contains news, its basically an rss feed xml file i am trying to use a CSS file to make the links and images show up but to no avail. I'm importing my images dynamically into an online portfolio. I'd like to have some text/areas on the imported images be linked to outside websites, or link to other areas of my site.If this is possible, how does one code it; or are there any tutorials anyone knows of that I could check out?

How I could make a sliding/scrolling menu of images(sideways) with links and those images should dynamically loads from lets say a directory or something like that and can easily control/change image and url in a simple external text file( heres a sample of what it should look like: [URL] the bottom part. I just need some direction or insight as to how others might handle this task. I lack the necessary AS3 skills, but still think it's overly complicated for being such a simple task. I have a set of images (say 10) on stage. I need to loop through this set over and over again... each image fades in... holds for some time... then fades out as the next image fades in. But each image has its own website link when it has focus. So far I've encountered trouble when dealing with alpha & visible settings. It's like you can't have one without the other and vice versa. Visible allows separate links to hold but only alpha allows the tween motion. All of my code is on frame 1.

i have an swf placed into a html doc - the swf creates thumbnails and links that create a sort of videowall effect - the links come via xml. i am using lightwindow to create an overlay that displays the links/images/video etc... so here is the problem - if i open it with firefox on a mac - and choose say the youtube link - it opens lightwindow brings in the flv briefly - then the flv vanishes leaving a white void where the player should.
but if i add the same link to the html and click it, that works as it should do - ie the youtube flv apprears and you can click and play it etc... Safari on a mac works a treat - and loads and then plays the flv. is this just a bug in FF for the mac - or mac&pc? doesn't FF like flash and youtube together or something? or is there a work around? my tester is here could any pc heads tell me if the lightwindow works at all on their windows browsers? and tell me what versions you are on?

i am doing a slideshow with images occuring randomly wch hav clickable links,okay it works but at times the transition is very fast instead of the 8s interval i expect ,when i view the trace() output ,i have noted that at times the timer is triggerd twice or more simultaneously...my code is below...what maybe the cause may u kindly assist i have 21 frames with 21 images

I know I can make an array if all the buttons would have a unified code executable change, i.e. they would become larger and brighter.
My problem is that each button represents an product image in the lights off stage, then of rollover it is a lights on stage so I have to import two images in the on and off stage and play around with the opacity.Additional problem is that each button has to ling to a different label.
My question is: is it possible to unify the code if buttons have that much individuality or I have to make each one of them as in the example below.

i created a flash slideshow with pictures of events and link each picture with its own event (ie. each pictures has its own links to the website). I created the fade in and fade out effect using the class motion tween. With the link, I created a layer with a button that has alpha= 0 (so the user don't see it) and then I used code snippet to make another layer with the action script "click to go to url."
When the slideshow goes to the last picture I made it fade out and the first picture of the slideshow would show up and then the slideshow would replay itself (by default?). My goal is to make a continuous slideshow.
When I tested the swf file, the first time it runs, everything is right. The urls and the pictures are in correct order. However when the slideshow replays itself automatically, I notice that the links are incorrect. In the first play, when I click the picture of the event it would open the url of that event.However when the sldieshow replays, clicking the pictures would only open the url of the first event picture. When I click on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc.pictures the browser opens only the link of the first picture of the slideshow.

I've got a PHP script that searches for links in a block of text and converts them to HTML values. The $message variable is then entered into my database using a simple INSERT. So far, so good. Then I have Flash parse the message using XML:

The problem, however, is that my links don't work. The rollover works from the CSS styling, but the links don't actually go anywhere. When I rollover the links, the hand cursor doesn't appear, and clicking only serves to change the color back to the non-hover value.

I'm writing some code in Flash MX 2004 and everything works fine except for the last button (4DSystemsProducts).According to the coding if none of the drop down buttons work it should go to products.php, but for some reason it goes to 4DSystemsProducts.php. All of the other menus are coded the same way and work fine, if I take out that button it works fine,or if I take out button 7 and switch 4DSystems to button 7 everything works.Here is the code to clear up this explanation. I am trying to have multiple links off site but have hit a brick wall. If I have the code listed below, it opens the second link as soon as you open the links page, If I have the"function onLinkClick (evt)", above btn6_btn I end up with the duplicate error message. Is there a way to have multiple link buttons on a page. I have played with this for hours.

Can I have a link in an xml doc that then links up to another portfolio(my site is essentially a portfolio of images).Or do I need to alter the script in Flash? I have a flash movie launch over my webpage when the page loads what the problem is is that when the flash is completed and unloads in the area where the movie showed up the links are not clickable. I have my wmode set to transparent and even have the unloadMovie at the end of the movie, this problem only occurs when using firefox how can I fix it?

i have created some flash banners with a url embedded in them, so when they are placed on a web page the banner links through to my website when clicked. Fairly simple.But, i tested them on a website on my server to link to another website on the server and they worked fine. When i gave them to a client to embed on their own website (the flash files are hosted on my server still), the links no longer work.
Is this a security issue to stop the links working? i also checked it in linux and the banners worked, but in windows they do not. I dont want the client to have their own local copy of the flash file, as i may update it in the future and dont want to chase up lots of different copies everywhere.

I have a website located at: tonywilford.com made entirely of flash. However when I click on any outside link like on my contact page , it detects it as a pop up and doesn't open it.I know I can disable the pop up blocker but how can I make it not do this for the everyday ordinary non technical visitor?What I was trying to do (which may caused this) is when a link was clicked it would open in another tab instead of opening in the same window. If possible, I'd still like to achieve this.

I am a newbie to Flash. I am working on a template website with a deadline. I was able to change the text, remove items I did not need and add some additional text.....but I cannot get any of the links in either of the two top flash animations (the menu and the header) to work. I am using Flash CS4 (and Dreamweaver CS4). I have tried to add a link to the text, and in the AS. But then they do not seem to be working at all.
