Android :: Multi Line Messagefield In MobileIconItemRenderer FLex

I have a problem with my ItemRenderer in Flex. I'm developping a mobile application and I'm using a list. One of the items is to set a date. But when the date is wrong I want to set a text in my messageField like : The To date must be after the From date.The problem is I don't know (and don't seem to find it anywhere) where you can set the messagefield in multiline.I read on a forum that's possible but no explanation how.Here you can see an example of what I want (the 5the item in the list is using multiline).[code]

I have two requirements for a flex charting component:
1) The grid lines should always remain fixed to a scaling I define using an array of data. Something like a graph paper sheet.
2) Plot multiple line series data over this grid.
How does one get complete control over the background grid lines? I have tried a combination of annotation elements and setting the linechart background elements. If I get the grid right, I can't plot over it (Probably due to the scale). how would one go about designing a graphpaper like interface for linecharts in flex/actionscript?

When a Dynamic Multiple line text field is used in Flash CS3, it has a very annoying feature that auto inserts a line break at the end of inserted text. It also auto inserts a line break if no text is entered too.
I'm having a problem with this because the text is being saved from flash to a text file on the desktop. With every multi-line text field there's a nasty looking line break.
Any way of "turning off" this auto-line-break-at-the-end feature?

I am developing a game for Android using Adobe AIR 3.0, also i am using Samsung Galaxy S2 to test my game, and is running pretty well with decent 30 fps.to control the game-play, i am using virtual joystick and some button on screen (e.g. to throw weapon, jump etc). however it seems that multitouch is not working fine, if i press one button and and in the same time if i down another button. first one stops working. here is the code snippet which defines multitouch behavior -

I have a project which, for all intents and purposes, attempts to create an online text editor/word processor. The key thing is that I need all multi line formatting to be retained and sent to the server. ie, if the user enters a bunch of text (all colors/bold/fonts and stuff are working great) which has a carriage return or a line wrap, I need a way of tracking that and inserting some kind of flag to let the server now to break to the next line at that point.this project is a client/server application so just storing the text string and expecting flash to be able to use the same size text box will not work.
I have created a function that detects keypresses and MOSTLY takes care of the carraige return issue (still not as solid as I'd like though). Basically, every time the user presses return, I store the length of the string and, when parsing the data for transfer, I insert newline chars at every index point where one is needed. This mostly works unless the user goes BACK and enters a return (still working on that little issue).But the word wrap part is killing me. I did find several discussions of using either total characters to determine how big the box is and where to break the line, or something along those lines, but here's the main issue with that:everything is dynamic. the user can change almost everything, from text font (so there will be variable font widths) text size (again, variable widths) to textbox size (so I can't go with a fixed pixel size to break the text). I've noticed that it was very easy to make a text box vertically dynamic, but the width seems to want to stay fixed (if set to multi-line) since the user will be changing this width, I'm just stuck.
if it means coding a huge set of functions that compares every possible font (i will be using embedded fonts eventually so they will be limited) with every possible size and then using that data to determine box size, that's fine, I'll do whatever I can to get this working, but there just has to be an easier way

I'm reading a 2d array from a .txt file, this is what I do:

Notice the starting comma on every line except the first? I think it's the newline character somehow interfering, but I've tried everything I can think of, and nothing has helped.

I am sending a dynamic multi-line textField text to a database. Upon receiving it back, it doesn't display it in multi-line format properly. I am also using htmlText, so it stores it all the font / size /etc in the database perfectly.This code shows you the textField attibutes, both the text I create and send to MYSQL, and the text I get back also calls upon these exact attributes

when I called upon the text from the database. It at least made it multi-line, but it messed it up a bunch also. My text is only 3 lines, but with wordWrap, it made it 8 and made it look off.Anyway, the text / font / color and everything comes in perfectly, except for the multi-line part.

I have built a multi-touch application which is based on a Java EE backend and combined with BlazeDS to a Adobe Flex frontend. The application runs on a DIY-Multi-Touch which I built. Now I want to use another solution. The Adobe Flex frontend (with a multitouch library) and the BlazeDS adapter should be replaced by a solution which covers iPhone/iPad, Android and commercial Multi-Touch displays.
The problem is the iPad/iPhone, there is no Flash Player runtime (not the jail-breaked ones), but the application should be runnable also on those devices. So Adobe Flex and a Java frontend (no JVM on the iPhone/iPad) is not possible anymore. At first, starting the developing of the application it was not neccessary, to run it on Apples mobile devices, but this changed So, what can I do, using HTML5? So I can use it for Android and iPhone/iPad. But I also want to make it possible to use it on a commercial multi-touch-display and normal display with a mouse (I only have gestures for one finger, the 2-finger gestures are not neccessary). Are there any frameworks that allow this? Because I do not want to create several frontends (App for iPhone/iPad on Objective-C and a Adobe Flex for all other devices), it would be great if I can build a frontend for all devices.

I've recompiled my app with Flex 4.6 / AIR 3.1 and now when I upload to the Android market it says my app is using a "android.permission.BROADCAST_STICKY" permission. In it's simplest terms what is it and can or should I turn it off (it's not in the app descriptor file)?
BTW I used captive runtime for the first time in this upload. Would that have anything to do with it?

I have a problem - How to run AIR (really big desktop application) on my Galaxy Tab 10.1? It's possible convert .air to .apk?
EDIT:
1. I set up a new desktop project (File -> New -> Flex Project)
2. Project name is "simpleTest", Application type is Desktop (runs in Adobe AIR), Flex SDK version 4.6.0 and click to Finish
3. I go to Design mode, then set the width to 500 and height to 250. I add one button by drawing and name it btnOne and make Generate Event Handler
4.Then I go to Project -> Export Release Build (Export as Signed AIR package) -> Next (I apply the certificate) -> Finish
5. I find the project file (...Adobe Flash Builder 4.6simpleTest) and copy simpleTest.air into a new file (simpleTestAPK - which contains my certificate > andCert.p12)
6. I rename "simpleTest.air" to "simpleTest.zip" and from this .zip I unpack just "simpleTest.swf" and "application.xml"
7. I create a "create.txt" containing as follows:
adt -package -target apk-debug -storetype pkcs12 -keystore andCert.p12
myHope.apk application.xml simpleTest.swf
8. I rename "create.txt" to "create.cmd" and launch it (Shift + RMB -> Open cmd here)
9. "myHope.apk" is created
10. I copy this to Galaxy Tab 10.1 (with drag&drop)
11. I launch "myHope.apk" but all I see is blank, white screen, no colors, no buttons, nothing.

I'm creating an app to deploy for iOS and Android and I'd like to give them slightly different filenames (need to add a space so that name displays on two lines on Android). Is there a way for me to define this in the app.xml without having to change it each time I export?

I need to replace multiple contiguous new line/line feed characters in flex with a single new line character.
Example:
The string
"My name is blah blah
My name is blah
"
Should be converted to
"My name is blah blah
My name is blah
"
Hope the example makes it easier to understand.
I am using a component to render it.
I guess using regex would be the easiest way to do this, but still it would be great if people can point me out to references/examples to get this done with ease.
I am using flex 4.5.

I need to read a large CSV file (8-15 MB) and generate a LineChart in Flex AIR. Since Chart need data in structurd format like XML. When I read CSV and convert it to XML object 8 MB file size become 24 MB XML object and not able to graph.
Best solution is to read Line by line and read only part of data. How can I acheive this in Flex AIR ? Is it possible to read line by line in Flex.
Otherwise what are the best ways to draw a graph in FLEX using large data.

I know that flex does not support multi threading however, I would like to clear a doubt.I have two events that call a same function. Suppose the two events occur at the same instant (or in quick succession) will the handler be called twice, one after the other or there is a chance that if the handler function is taking too much time to execute the same handler can start executing simultaneously.

I am currently playing around with flex, I have C++ background, so I am not used to AS3.The problem is in the main*.mxml file I have fx:script block and I try to define a multidimensional array like that:

I use a function to initialize the 2d-array:

This function gets called later on in the main loop to init and reset the "board" why doesn't it work. The only difference to the AS3 documentation is that it gets done in a function.

I am using flex4, I am seeking the answer to create multi window web application. My application is some sort of complex, currently I only know using PopupManager to create a new window.Should I create each MXML for each window that I want to instantiate? And then load the mxml and put it into the stage? Is there any tutorial describing that? I want the program modular and easy to manager, extend.
The current way I am using is use Group to group up all the controls inside a window, and if user want to open that window, I will display the group and bring it to the front. Is it the right way to do windowing? But I can't support drag.
I want to know if there is any native support for draggable window, or dialog?
Also till now all the controls are put inside a single mxml file, is it possible to put one window(or one group) to be a separate mxml file?
