View 3 RepliesI have this problem whenever I publish a .html file from flash. There is always white borders around it and the swf never fits to the browser size and with scrolls. I saw a few websites , the .swf fits the web browser nicely without any scrolls. May I know how do I do that? I checked swfobject2, but I am not really sure how to do it...

This works perfect. But when displaying the flash application in a browser and moving the scroll wheel, zooming in and out works perfect and the browser window scrolls up and down. How do I make it so the browser window stays in place and is not affected by the scroll wheel at least while the mouse is on the flash application?
I would like to prevent browser scrolling when I use mouse wheel inside flash, even if I put focus on some element inside flash still the browser scrolls.

Specifics: I need to embed flash into an html page that runs in chrome, safari, firefox, ie. The swf must fill the entire browser viewport.I don't want the flash to zoom.Inside of flash I can set StageScaleMode.NOSCALE so that flash renders to Device Pixels.I also set the state's alignment to StageAlign.TOP_LEFT.Now all I need is the number of device pixels in the browser!
Problem: when there is a browser zoom or I open the site while the browser is zoomed, I cannot easily get information on the browser's dimensions in device pixels.
Solution: acrobat.com's online document editor (formerly known as buzzword) handles this problem just fine (free to play with with an account).What are they doing?In webkit browsers, they are able to keep the document.width to report device pixels every time. I am not sure what they are doing in firefox and ie.
What doesn't work:Swffit does not support this.Just loading the swf into the browser is not a solution, as the swf needs to be embedded.This solution scales a swf to accomodate different browser zooms but does not get information on the browser window dimensions.

basically what i would like is the end point to be the start point and the start point the end point.
I have a swf file that loads into my main movie, and within that swf there is a masked image that i would like to scale using zoom in and out buttons and also by using a slider bar.However i cant find any tutorials that will allow me to combine the two.I have used the following code for the buttons. Which seems to work ok but i would like it to be a little smoother. (using speed or some sort of easing??)

I have a movie clip called column1_mc. when I click a button I need to move the movie clip in incremental moves consisting of 30 pixels.
column1_mc._y = 30;
Does not work because that is giving a _y coordinate.For example.I need to make the movie clip jump to _y 300 but make 10x30 pixel incremental jumps. Moving 10 times 30 pixel jumps.

View 1 RepliesI have a small problem. I've just completed my website in flash and have discovered that on a small monitor the bottom half of the website is cutoff.[URL].. This wouldn't be a problem if you were able to scroll...but the right scroll bar is missing. Unsure why.
I published the index.html straight out of flash and have tryed all options but for placement the current options work best. I have little to no html coding knowledge.

View 1 RepliesI'm designing a flash site for a friends band in as3. I'm using medium sized dynamic text field to a display external text with a UI scroll bar.
The scroll bar works when you preview the site in flash but when you publish it the scroll bar is static.
if you go to [url]....you will notice that you can not scroll the browser window with your mouse wheel if the cursor is over the flash object (entire website is one object). I need to make it so scrolling always affects the browser no matter the state of the cursor.

When i test the movie, i only see some of the form elements, and there's no scroll bar within the movie or the flash player to be able to move around. I have a multi-layered scene with a resolution of about 700x1200 (so you would scroll down the page with the browser scroll bar). Basicly I want these layers to correspond to your scrollbar position as though the perspective changes. ie: scrolling down would push the fore ground at the normal rate but only pushing the background at a slower rate, (thus giving a 3D effect).I would imagine since the .swf would then need to talk to the scroll bar, there would be a need for another language as well as action script.

I am working on a flash site where the user scrolls down in their browser to view all of the content, the problem is that when the user goes to the next page of the site the browser is still scrolled down to the bottom and so they have to scroll to the top of the page to view the content they must read first. Is there any way I can avoid this without using scroll bars in flash or is there a way I can reset the scrollbar of the browser the flash site is being viewed in?

View 1 RepliesI have a web app built in Flash Builder 4.5. Its dimensions are 1150 x 900. When I try to view it on a smaller monitor or lower resolution, I can only scroll horizontally. I need it to scroll vertically. Is there a setting I am missing or could it be something else. I am not going to post any code at this time because I do not believe it is a syntax issue. View 9 RepliesI have a 700px heigh movie, which makes the browser scrollbar appear on most resolutions. If I focus on the html part the mouse wheel works fine; however if I bring the focus to the flash movie (simply clicking on it) it doesn't work anymore! This started to happen when I added the numericStepper component to the stage even if the focus is not on it.

As stated in the title, I am now trying to create a chart using Google visualization: annotated time line. It's very easy to use and the documentation is fairly easy to understand as well. You can find the documentation here.I run into a problem about the wmode of the chart which is a flash object.The default value of the chart's wmode is "window" and it will always overlay all HTML objects in the same page. That is very annoying, because even the jquery block() method doesn't work on it.
When I change the chart's wmode into "opaque" or "transparent" the chart will not overlay HTML objects with higher z-index, but it doesn't recognize the mouse scroll event. It still catch the mouse click event though.I have tried it in the following browser:
