I have flash (CS4) files that open in a new window when an image is clicked. The problem is that the .swf file expands beyond it's normal size and looks pixilated. What is the best way to control the size that the .swf file will display. And yes, the original .fla file had a fixed size.

but it gets jumpy and the target MC tweens back and worth on 2-3 frames (looks very very very laggy and buggy) i have 24fps and ive tried regular/elastic/bounce/strong tween settnings.

View 3 RepliesI've made a flash application using actionscript 3, I wanted this application size to be dynamic, To be able to embed it in any size and let it adjust itself accordingly. I managed to accomplish this, theres a problem though: The original width of the application is 700 pixels. I'm embedding the flash in a smaller size, (400 for example) going to full screen, and when I exit, the application sets itself back to being 700 pixels wide, and isn't adjusting itself to the 400px width of the actual embedding area..

However, what I really want is not to set the height but let it to change according to the content size. Is there any way to accomplish this?

To be more clear, I don't want to set the itemRenderer's VBox height to "150" or any other fixed value - but it'll only show one line of the text if I don't do it. So I'm looking for a way out of this. (If the VBox is not inside the itemRenderer, it'll auto adjust height as Text field string length grows - that's what I want.)

View 1 RepliesI have an IP camera streaming video through RTSP, and I am able to pick up the stream in VLC [URL]. What I need now is a way to show this stream in a Flash application I am developing (probably through the FLVPlayback component?). This means I need a way to "convert" or transcode the RSTP stream to a format supported by Flash, live.
I searched around but couldn't find any conclusive answers... Should I use VLC to transcode the video stream? Something with Adobe Media Server? Is ffmpeg an option here? I have no clue where to start or which option is most suited in this case.
I would like to create multiple swf files that play from beginning to end, then load the next one without users clicking buttons. For example, I may have files A, B, C, D, E, and F. A plays and loads B. B playes and loads C. C plays and loads D..... until F finishes playing then loads A and it starts all over. What is the best way to approach this?

1) Play videos in slow motion; and

View 2 RepliesI figured out how to get a TextField to maintain focus when the tab key is pressed (using an event listener on FocusEvent.KEY_FOCUS_CHANGE), but what I'd like to do is control the size of the tab character in the TextField so that it is equal to five spaces. (I would just insert five spaces when the tab key is pressed, however due to requirements this is not an option.) Is this possible?
View 1 RepliesI have a video object that dynamically changes. I want to put that inside of a movieclip that is always 320,240 no matter what the video object size is. I want the video object to increase or decrease but I always want to display it at 320,240. How would I write this? I tried:

But the video object still is large (my video object is 480,360 in this case). It seems like it is not nested inside of the the videoDisplay sprite which should only be 320,240.

I want to use the ActionScript 3 Camera class to capture a video from a local camera (webcam, built-in camera, etc) and then play that video back within the flash application.I'm considering the possibility of sending it to a Flash Media Server and then streaming it back as an on-demand video, but I would ideally like to keep the whole thing client-side for best performance.I'm open to the idea of using a different platform (Java was one consideration) as long as it can be embedded in a web page, but I would like to keep development as straightforward as possible and make the process of accessing the application as easy as possible for the end user, which is why I chose Flash initially.
