Enlarge The Font In Flash Help Files?
Jun 25, 2009I'm using Flash 8. The font in the files is very very small, nearly unreadable. There is no option to enlarge the font, and Ctrl+ does nothing.

Aug 26, 2004Okay, developing my first flash site with action script I have run into two problems I can't find fixes to via a kirupa search, one (which is not really an action script prop) is that I have created a text box that has a unique font in it, I look at it from another computer that does not have that font and I was surprised to see it was using times new roman, [is there a way to make my unique font viewable on all computers without making it a symbol?] next, I have a series of audio files on this site but I would also like the viewer to have the capabilities to download them, what is the code to allow this?

Feb 7, 2011I'm trying to embed a font in my project by using url("font.ttf") rather than local("Font Name"), but it doesn't seem to pick it up. The font in question is called "Gotham Bold". When i view the details of the font, the font weight is regular, however when i use local("Gotham Bold") in the css i have to specify fontWeight: bold or else it wont pick it up. But when I use url("folderGotham-Bold.ttf"), and specify fontWeight: bold, it says that font weight is not found for that TTF. If i remove the fontweight, there's no errors, but the font is not applied to the text.

Mar 23, 2011In my application I'm using a custom embedded font for English (Helvetica New) which does not contain characters (glyphs) for chinese unicode range. In the application, wherver chinese characters are avaiable they are not displayed (suppressed) since they are missing in the custom embedded font. How can I make the flash player to use a fallback system font for the missing characters? And the fallback should be for the missing characters alone. For the Engligh characters it should use the embedded font.

Flash :: Embed Font Will Replace Or Complete Another Embeding Font?
Feb 9, 2011I have a swf A, which contains no font.If I download into it the swf F1, which contains few characters of Arial, then I'll have the arial font embed into A, no problem with that.But if, then, I download the swf F2, which contains other characters of Arial into swf A, will I be able to use all the embed characters font, only the F2, or only the F1 ?I'd like to have a link to somewhere where this is explained, even in very technical terms : I wasn't able to find one.
EDIT : After few tests, it seems that the player replace the loaded font... How can I merge them, then ?
Embed A Font In Flash And Have It Displayed As Though It Was A Device Font?
Jul 19, 2009Is it possible to embed a font in Flash and have it displayed as though it was a device font? In other words, can embedded fonts be aliased?Using the bitmap-text option doesn't work, Flash tends to screw up a lot of the character spacing. I haven't found any pixel fonts that mimic Arial, Verdana and Tahoma accurately. Setting the stage quality to low does alias the fonts but they become fragmented.Using device fonts is an option but, as far as I understand, some browsers/operating systems will take it upon themselves to anti-alias the text.

Nov 13, 2009Is there a way wherein I can enlarge the document property size and force the contents to align to the center? I'm new, so I probably started backwards. I made my file with animation just how I wanted it, then realized it would look better if I put a frame around it. But, when I enlarge the document properties to accommodate the frame, all content, including associated animations, are top flush left. I need them middle center.

Aug 28, 2011I've completed my first character in Flash. Happy with it's performance. Got eyes blinking, mouth syncing, and hands gesturing. But the character doesn't fill the screen the way I want. I need this to be a close-up shot of the character.When I go to enlarge the character it screws everything up because the head and body are keyed separately.Shouldn't there be a simple way to just group and scale the whole character without messing up the performance inside?

ActionScript 2.0 :: Enlarge The Hit Area Of Button
May 12, 2005how can i enlarge the hit area of a button when i'm over it? i tried creating a movieclip ("mc") containing two frames; one frame ("normal") with a button including a small hit area, and one with a button containing a larger hit area (framename="over"). when i roll over the movie clip it sucessfully changes to frame "over" with the large hit area button (from root i tell "mc" to cange to frame "over"), but in fact only up,over and down state frames are taken from the new button. the hit area is still the small one from the first frame.
basically the thing i want to achieve is, that one rolls over the button, but will have to move his mouse farer away from the overstate graphic of the button, to release it. so optically the same button, but with a larger hitarea than the one you entered when rolling over the button in the first place, so one cant accidentally get off of it too early.

What I have done is, I have created a programmaticskin for a button. The form of the skin consists out four arrows. In between the arrows there is nothing (meaning transparent). Because of the way the skin is shaped, it's difficult to click on the button. The skin has alter the buttons hitArea. What I'm looking for is a way to enlarge the hitArea and alter the hitArea shape in to an square. (the hit area must ofcourse still be invisible).

May 13, 2009I'm working on a schoolproject and I have a flashapplication that I want on my site. In this image you see a horizontal scrollbar and a vertical scrollbar. In the middle are the photographs, those you'll click in the horizontal scrollbar and they will enlarge (with some text). That's the red arrow. The yellow arrow is the thing I wanted too. When you click a photograph in the horizontal bar en you hold em, you can drag that photograph in the vertical bar and drop it there.

Nov 26, 2009have a question. Is it possible to detect whether the user used or is using ctrl+scroll to enlarge the screen? I was looking at an example of a mouse avoiding game, which could easily be cheated on using ctrl+scroll, so that the passages were larger etc.
Is there any way to detect this inside Flash, and perhaps prevent it?
