My current HTML4 transitional website has several flash videos. How could I make them play in Apple devices with minimal changes? I've seen numerous threads but I've got confused. Some possible ways suggested in these threads:Identify device from request and serve another format video. Which format should be served here? I need to maintain all videos in 2 format? H.264 encoding was suggested here.HTML 5 options.
Edited // I want to detect flash support (not user string agent) on load and if the visitor is viewing on a device that does not support flash (changed from iPhone or iPad) I want to display this code:
I'm still a newbie in terms of as3, but have built a code-simple flash site (using CS3 & Dreamweaver). I've only just discovered SWFAddress / SWFobject / swffit and have been combing through my flash pages to implement these oh-so helpful tools. Troubled process, as it is...
I have literally spent days (not merely hours) trying to adapt various code, watching and following tutorial and trying to adapt what I find for my existing site (which is, unto itself, still in development)
I'm trying to avoid avoid using external packages and script instead on the timeline, in keeping with how the site was originally built (with hopes this would save me from having to rebuild and reorganise the structure of the timeline - there are several gallery pages and files and buttons and cross-linking). But I'll attach here just one fla ("archives.fla") that anyone whom has experience with SWFAddress might understand what I'm contending with. I've borrowed code from so many sources at this point that the script code is sure to be bungled (one top layer of the fla file, for deep linking).
I would be ever so grateful for assistance in this regard; cannot afford to pass another day trying to figure it out (I am on a deadline)...
file to big to attach; i don't believe looking at the code will be of any use without seeing the set up and references on the timeline... but i'll insert it anyway (below). is there a way to send the file to someone directly?
The index file is .php. Now I've got this little Flash animation that we want to run first, then when it's done go to his website. When I try to add it to the top of the index page all that happens is the site loads like in normally did but with the Flash movie at the top instead of being another page. What do we need to do to have it load on it's own first?
i just need to know about loading external sxf into an existing flash site. i used the load external code. but i just want to know about the link . how must i be. the example it like so
[Code]...
now the path where it says path how must it be. once these files are uploaded to my server. must it be like so(as above) or how the full part which is ./public_html/pics.swf
I designed an entirely based flash site and suddenly was informed that on the iPhone a user sees just a black screen, on my SmartPhone I see and icon of a page on a white background. How do I make my site be visible on iPhone or SmartPhone, and I guess on Android phones as well.
I have created a Flash site that I need to add another swf file to. how I can insert this other swf file into my existing website which is also a swf file? Can it be done? I've been tinkering with adding another layer and the timelines but can't seem to get it to work. The site is using AS2 but this newer swf file which I created from SlideShow Pro is using AS3.
I can't seem to figure out how to make it work. It gives me a file not found error when I try to download the .m3u8 file from the following location... [URL]
I usually used as3 in flash to develop game, but I always do for a fixed size of file. But in itunes there are a lot of app work for both ipad - 768x1024 and iphone 640x940 (this size is iphone 4) and even different iphone generation has different size too. So how can i use flash to make one app that can work for all of these devices?
when I first created my website I defined it in a random folder of my own choosing. Now, many months of construction later I want add some php related stuff and have to setup a proper local testing server.
I therefore have to move the whole thing to an htpdocs subfolder in MAMP - how can I do this so all links and filepaths etc are updated?
the flash4 published set of files, with a variety of skins tried, works well on the local drive, even when moved to a different folder structure. when index.html is opened on the remote web site, the browser (firefox3 and ie7) displays the player conrols and a rotating horizontal barber pole, green and black, but no flash video.some of the skins i've used are: SkinOverPlaySeekFullscreen.swf, nOverPlayStopSeekCaptionVol.swf and SkinUnderPlay.swf. all work locally but do not play the .flv file on the web site. no problem playing flv movies on the remote web site if the file set is created by dreamweaver.
I have insert jPlayer [URL] into my site [URL] and I've got a lot of feedback that it doesn't work. I suppose that it's because of old version of flash-plugin, but no one browser show block whith class .jp-no-solution. I've checked all browsers at home and at work - everywhere it works. But there are too many feedbacks that jplayer doesn't play music.
I just finished with developing my application by Adobe Flash Professional CS5 and I wonder if this will be visible to iPhones 4 because support for Retina displays was added since CS5.5.
I'm interested in developing for the iPad and iPhone, but I'd prefer not to learn Apple's whole development stack (and good golly, I sure don't want to go back to manual memory management). Oh, sure, I could learn it, but I don't have that level of commitment to the environment at this point. I've got professional experience with Flex already, so I'm intrigued by Adobe's move to make Flash/Flex compile to the iPhone and iPad. My question is: how promising of a development path will Adobe's Slider be? Are we likely to see Slider publicly available in a reasonable timeframe (Adobe: "An early mobile branch of the Flex framework is expected to be available in 2010")? Are we likely to see reasonable performance? Are there development hurdles that haven't become clear yet? Heck, is it all just vaporware? There's pretty limited information available so far, as far as I've seen, but I'm interested in people's predictions, even if they're speculative.
I'm interested in building a thick client application for my existing web services that will run on the IPhone. Flash finally seems to be an option, so I thought about using Flex for client side development.
However, since flash apps are not natively supported by the IPhone, but only through a wrapper, I was wondering if these apps can persist any data. Data entered by the user should eventually be transmitted to the web service, but until then I want it to persist even if the Iphone should run out of power.
Is this possible? Or does the Iphone flash wrapper make it impossible to access the hard disk?
ive created a flash site for a client and it runs very smoothly on Fire Fox, but when it is opened in IE, come elements crapped!! what should i do, should i plce a splash screen that will tell them that "this site is best viewed on fox!", IE has many bugs!! esp in flash. above is the link to the site. all are fine in fox, except for IE. the links are on the products section are all popups because thats what the client told me, he doesnt want it to be external swfs. notice on the products section: Firefox: all product links are functional IE: Some are functional and some are not, and theres a ! sign on the lower left saying error loading page.
I'm wondering if the flash packager for iPhone allows you to somehow save data in some kind of database maybe using Core Data or any other form? If it just allows you to export some kind of actionscript based game but doesn't allow for saving data that'd be kinda weak I'd assume so they must have a way (?).
I've created my app and it works great. But when I press home button on my iphone, my app minimizes and when I open it from multitasking apps, it simply restarts. Is it possible to freeze or pause the game instead of stop?
Here is a tutorial that tells you how to remove the gloss on an app in xcode. How can I do this in flash cs5? If I can't, can I do something to the image in photoshop so that it looks like it has no gloss when the gloss is applied?
i've created a basic flash form which uses the following script for the send button:[code]it works well when i test it locally in the flash IDE.. it also works when i upload the SWF and the corresponding HTML file that holds it to url...but when i upload it to a subdomain (ex. url..), it doesnt work anymore.. after pressing the "send" button, my "sending input" animation shows up as expected, but then it gets stuck there and never proceeds to the "input sent" animation.. the message never gets sent to my email..
I am trying to make my flex app work on Android, and that involves making an AIR app to run on Android. Seeing as the flex app needs the mic, an AIR app is required. I am using flash builder 4.5 on win7 with air 2.6. The trouble seems to be that most of it is now not available. For example mx.containers is there, but not mx.containers.viewStack. I notice that there are obvious equivalents in spark for some components but not others. VBox, HBox, Canvas VDividedBox, AdvancedDataGrid and associated custom renderers are the components my application uses the most. What is the fastest way to make this work on Android, I am under time pressure. Is there a site somewhere that recommends the best way to do this, and what components can be replaced with which?
Since flash doesn't work on the iphone, what should I do if I'm making a full flash site? Do I make a separate html site? Is there an easy way to do this, or do I have to redesign an entire site?
