Flash :: Creating Loading Messages With Swfobject?
Jul 19, 2010I am loading a flash file via swfobject. As the file is large, I want to show a "please wait while loading" message while the flash is loading.
How can I do it with swfobject.

Feb 22, 2011Im trying to load a flash movie using swfobject which I have been successful in doing so however the flash movie takes a few seconds to load I wanted to show a simple loading animation however the animation never displays. I commented out the code that embeds the movie and found that the animation does get displayed.

Mar 18, 2011I'm using swfobject to dynamically load a flash object into a div, and I'm wondering if there's an easy way to display a loading animation until the flash object is ready for display? In this case, I'm loading an embedded Issuu object, and you can see an example of Issuu loading via swfobject here. Depending on your connection speed, there is typically just a blank white space while the flash object loads, and it'd be great to indicate progress with a loading animation if possible.

Oct 7, 2010I am very new to AS3 and I am struggling to get multiple messages into flash from an external .txt file. I have managed to get 1 single message in just about, but then the client wanted multiple messages...aaghhhh. They are displayed on a single line and scroll in from the left, flash then move off to the right, I then need other messages to appear in a similar fashion.

Sep 11, 2009I have a flash movie that I want to play in my site, however whenever I select the link to play it, it comes up with this error:

To let this application communicate with the Internet, click Settings. You m ust restart the application after changing your settings. I have several .swfs files in my site. Not one of them gives me this error. When I try it locally on another machine, I also get the same message. I need to avoid this so site visitors won't be discouraged and leave.
The other weird thing is the audio begins playing when this popup comes up. Then when I click ok, it picks up in the video wherever it should be as if it has been playing the whole time.

Nov 3, 2008I think this is a pretty major issue I don't know why I don't find much info on the web but the numerous and ceaseless erros flash player 10 is throwing all the time are so annoying! I mean what does the user cares if:

And even then I can't really prevent the first error from appearing, cause from what I know I closed the site's tab and it's saying that the sound I am loading isn't loaded yet.... well if I am closing the entire site what do I care about some f sound?
Should I use try and catchs all the time or what?

Jun 5, 2011I have Flex application - it connects to FMS and joins to NetGroup named "default".So I have for example 4 clients connected to the same server in the same group. And looks like not all clients are connected to each other! Client1 sees Client2's streams and messages but doesn't see others. Same for Client3 and 4. I know UDP must not be blocked in networks in order to P2P connections work, and this can be a reason why not all members of group see each other.My question is - if there any ways to make all clients see each other? For example - if no P2P connection can be established - connect client via Flash Media Server or some proxy?

I have another page in the same directory as the swf file and it works fine so I know that swfobject and the swf file are working properly. Nov 26, 2009Ive been trying to include an swf with buttons, that plays .flv videos, into this html page: [URL] (feel free to view source) Im having trouble because i think the swf 'links' to flv files, and neither are in the same directory as the html page - the swf is just not showing up. i dont want to duplicate the swf and its corresponding flash files if theyre already hosted once by this client - does anyone have a solution, or is the problem actually something else? the swf files can be downloaded at: [URL]

Flash :: Debugging - Embed In IE 8 Using SwfObject?
Feb 3, 2011I tried SwfObject for loading swf on a website. It is all good with webkit and mozila based browsers but not with IE.[URL].. In IE 8 the footer not loading, it like crashes after the swf loads. In IE 7 the player not working, so the footer loads.
How can I debug it? I have a Mac, Linux, Win7 with IE 8 64 bit. On IE 64-bit it gives a message to update the flash player but there is no update for this player from Adobe.
