I have two example pages. http:[url]....this displays 100% width and height flash without a problem across all the browsers including IE9.http:[url]....this displays 100% width and height with min-height and min-width without a problem across all the browsers except for the IE9.I need #2 link work with IE9. (fullsized flash with min-height and min-width).
swfObject embed has the following signature, swfobject.embedSWF(swfUrlStr, replaceElemIdStr, widthStr, heightStr, swfVersionStr, xiSwfUrlStr, flashvarsObj, parObj, attObj, callbackFn)with width and heigth required attributes,What can I do to signify dynamic height and width.
I am trying to get my swfobject to register 100% height. I am writing this: Code: swfobject.embedSWF("CoolBox.swf","content","100%","100%","9.0.0",null,null,null); and it doesn't work. If I replace the height paramater with a static number like 200, it will work. The width paramater works fine at 100%.
I have a full screen flash movie that loads and displays correctly in firefox and chrome. In IE, however, it displays at 1/3 the width. The embedded code is relatively simple:
I am developing an animated homepage for a Flash-HTML hybrid website, and for the sake of standards, my solution is proving difficult.
Here is the run-down:
For Flash users, HTML page loads a variable-height AS3 Flash movie that will start at 556 pixels high, and after finishing its animation sequence, tween via Actionscript + JavaScript to 250 pixels high.
To kick off this movie sequence -- (below-left) -- I am attempting to set the initial height of the Flash movie via MooTools, so if users do not have Flash or Javascript enabled, they will see the shorter-height image area with alternative image content and HTML content revealed (below-right).
Element.setStyle sets the height just fine until swfObject runs, at which point the movie collapses since I am not specifying a height via CSS. If users do not have Flash, it defaults to the height of a static image.
So here is my question: Does anyone know how to dynamically pass a height variable to swfobject when it is set up to width/height @ 100%? Am I killing myself for no reason trying to work with two page heights?
Image Sequence: Left - Initial Flash movie with HTML navigation below Right - Resized movie at the end of the sequence with HTML nav & content below, looks the same as no-Flash version (static image)
With swfobject 2.2, how do you specify the desired version of flash you require? I need flash 10, but swfobject won't perform an upgrade install with the provided expressInstall. swf in the swfobject 2.2 distributable. How do I get an upgrade install to occur for flash 10?
I have a bit of graphical content inside a symbol that I've created in Flash CS5. Let's call it FunGraphics_Art, it's set to export, and it extends MovieClip. When I edit the symbol in Flash and I hit control-A, the properties panel tells me that all of the content has a height of 72 pixels, positioned at 0,0.The content consists of a few (classic) textfields, and a couple of Checkbox components and a few bits of vector art.All the content is on a single frame, no layers. So far, so good. I export my art as a .svc and am able to use it all in code just fine. However I then add the following bit of code to my .as file..[code]Somehow, there's something strange going on that's causing Flash to think my exported symbol is about 75 pixels higher than it actually is. I've looked around for invisible "blank" textfields, but haven't found anything yet.
I've created a dynamic text field, and set autoSize to true, so it can grow was tall as necessary. I then want to use the _height value to size a container graphic (speech bubble). Here's the (simplified) code:
[Code]....
Returns 19.6 followed immediately by 35.2. It's as though reading txt._height causes it to recalculate, so it's correct the second time. I also tried the textHeight property, which also seems to get recalculated after _height is accessed. This sequence, for example:
I am trying to reference to top level (stage) width and height of the main stage for the placement of something located inside a movieclip on the stage.
My code is: Code: my_loader.x = (stage.stageWidth - my_loader.width)/2; my_loader.y = (stage.stageHeight - my_loader.height)/2;
But this seems to just relate to the width/height of the mc that my_loader is nested in...
I am experiencing some difficulty in having the flash content show on this page. I have checked the code and the paths and everything appears to be correct. I have another page in the same directory as the swf file and it works fine so I know that swfobject and the swf file are working properly. Any ideas why the swf file is not showing properly in the first page?
Ive been trying to include an swf with buttons, that plays .flv videos, into this html page: [URL] (feel free to view source) Im having trouble because i think the swf 'links' to flv files, and neither are in the same directory as the html page - the swf is just not showing up. i dont want to duplicate the swf and its corresponding flash files if theyre already hosted once by this client - does anyone have a solution, or is the problem actually something else? the swf files can be downloaded at: [URL]
I am using swfobject to display some Flash content (please don't tell Steve Jobs) and I need to set the background color of the swfobject content to black so it blends nicely with the black page it is on.I tried using the following code but it didn't change anything:
i'v edited this page over ftp from a normal pc (without developer tools), wich i can't install here. Can anybody see me why the swfobject isn't loading?
Developing an ASP MVC site which has a Flash Intro and encountered a strange behavior: it is impossible to go into full screen (in any browser). Flex application has this script to go in full screen (AS3):
I tried SwfObject for loading swf on a website. It is all good with webkit and mozila based browsers but not with IE.[URL].. In IE 8 the footer not loading, it like crashes after the swf loads. In IE 7 the player not working, so the footer loads.
How can I debug it? I have a Mac, Linux, Win7 with IE 8 64 bit. On IE 64-bit it gives a message to update the flash player but there is no update for this player from Adobe.
I have downloaded SWFObject, and included it in my website. Now I want to simply get a true or false value based on whether or not Flash is installed in the users browser when they visit my site.
I have a game that will work better in Flash Player 11 (with Molehill) but also works in 10.3. I'd like to get players to automatically update to 11 with express install as much as possible (after it's released, of course), but don't want to force them.I tried this way of embedding it with SWFObject:
For some abstract reasons I can't get this to work...No matter how I try to embed my flash with swfobject, the html file doesn't display the flash file.
I am using SWFobject.I am creating Banner Management System. I need to integrate Flash (SWF) banners and need to keep track of clicks and impressions.I tried to wrap flash object within anchor tag. Not working [URL]However, for simple things like clickable banners, all you may need is swfobject. how to create clickable banners with swfobjects?
I am trying to take a PHP variable and pass it along to Flash via Flash vars. My end goal is to pass a string formatted as XML to Flash, but because I'm struggling I've stripped everything down to the basics. I'm just trying to pass a simple PHP string variable to Flash via FlashVars with SWFObject but something isn't right. The page won't load when I try to pass the variable inside of php tags, but it will load if I just pass a hard coded string. The basic structure of my page is that I have some PHP declared at the top like so:[code]How do I pass a PHP variable using SWFObject and FlashVars?
I've been reading about using ExternalInterface to have Flash communicate with JavaScript. I need to detect and call some code in JavaScript when the user starts playing the video and when the video ends. The swfobject is nifty for embedding a player on the page, but I can't figure out how to add these event handlers to it.[code]...
The following embed code works fine when I load swfobject.js locally. However, when I try to load the swfobject.js from Google Library APIs, the Flash movie fails to load. I know I'm using a valid key, and the swfobject.js file is definetely being loaded, but I get an "Uncaught ReferenceError: SWFObject is not defined (anonymous function)"
Is it possible to use Flash JavaScript API with YouTube videos? The only function that I got to work reasonably is "Zoom". TotalFrames() gives "1" and TCurrentFrame('/') is always "0". Other functions seem to do nothing. For testing this I'm just using the live Google Playground Demo with "ytplayer" as the movie object. Most of what I want to do can be done with the Google API, but I still feel uncomfortably unclear on the three way relationship of YouTube videos, swfobject, and Flash.
