Nov 29, 2008I am useing Flash CS3. For some reason, I will click on the little arrow on a tool like "free transform" to get to the "Gradient Tool" but it refuses to expand so that i can select the "gradient tool". I am having the same problem with other expandable items as well like the "rectangle tool" which by clicking the little arro in the lower right should expand a menu to select other tools like the "Oval Tool" etc. Does anyone know what this could be?

Sep 19, 2006I had been trying to get the multiple galleries to function correctly and get my thumbnail layout customized forever.... I would have never been able to do it with out this file.I have run into three setbacks -What Code would I adjust to REMOVE the resizing logic. All of my images are the same size - so there is no need for this code but I cant figure out how to remove it? How would I add a scroll bar to the galleries that have more images than the stage can fit? Is there a way to add another text field that would have the ability to be a link? May 7, 2009An observation about the configuration files (XML) of FMS. When we roll out new versions or upgrades, it almost always involves updating or modifying the files in the conf/ directory. If it's within a certain revision, we generally copy them over from the previous install and it's fine. In the case of FMS 3.5, new configuration directives were added which necessitated our doing a fresh reconfigure to ensure everything was accounted for.
What I believe would make for an easier configuration process is to utilize the inheretance aspect of XML, allowing for a LocalSettings.xml file which would be read in by FMS last, overriding any default settings thus eliminating the need to alter the default *.xml files. Any new settings introduced that require changes can be imported as needed.
Overwriting the stock conf/*.xml files with new information would not interfere with your custom settings as they would remain intact in LocalSettings.xml. Any conflicts could be reported to the logs or stdout. One exception being fms.ini -- which could easily be revamped into XML and used in the above model.
Selecting Colors Via Toolbar Swatches
Jun 8, 2009In coloring an object using the toolbar fill palette, I'd like to simply be able to double click on the color swatch in the toolbar, rather than click on the swatch and mouse down to the color and click again with the eyedropper. What's happening is that the color swatch in the toolbar contains a variety of colors around the one that it nominally represents. e.g. If the swatch is ff0000, double clicking on the swatch is likely to color the selected object anywhere from f30000 to fe0000 depending on precisely where in the swatch you double click.

May 29, 2010I am having a problem with CS3 Flash and the toolbar on the left. Certain tools have options and those options are not showing up. Yes, I went to Customize Tools panel and checked and those options are listed to the right of each tool that should have them (Example: Rectangle tool: oval tool, polystar tool , etc) and even hit reset to default and still those options do not show up on the actual toolbar. I made a graphic thinking that would make them show up and no it didn't.
It seems to be a problem for each tool that has a options and they are
1. Free Transform Tool,
2. Pen tool and
3. Rectangle tool.
ActionScript 3.0 :: A Customization Button Component?
Aug 4, 2010I'm looking for a button component that allows me to customize the text field.The Flash button component allows me to edit/reskin everything except the text field. However, I can change the buttons textField via AS, but only during run time, I want a button component that allows me to change the text field so I can see the button on the stage with out having to compile a swf.
