Flash :: Security Policy Not Working - As3

How to I get my security policy working? My parent swf parses an XML doc and loads 2 children. It throws a 2148 security error, and only works in the Flash IDE. PARENT SWF 'I put it at the top of my code. That seemed like the proper event flow' flash.system.Security.loadPolicyFile("crossdomain.xml"); I've referenced my security file from my swf. I Also published my parent swf as 'network only' and put all the crossdomain.xml and everything else in the same folder. I need to click on the animations and have them place from a local computer at a kiosk. POLICY FILE 'Used"*" since there's not URL, it's all local'

I have an application that connects to a binary socket server running on port 2234. I use the python policy file server, which I downloaded from [URL], which runs on port 843. If the client app is trying to connect to a socket I can see that the server is receivng the request for a policy file and that it sends it to the client. However, in the client, I get a security sandbox error. How is this possible? And is it possible to check whether the client really received the policy file? BTW, here is my policy file:
<?xml version="1.0"?><!DOCTYPE cross-domain-policy SYSTEM "/xml/dtds/cross-domain-policy.dtd"><cross-domain-policy><allow-access-from domain="*" to-ports="*" /></cross-domain-policy>

I'm using as3httpclientlib to post data to my web service, but I'm continually getting the following security violation. Does anyone know how to resolve this? My crossdomain.xml file is below the security violation notice. NOTE: I'm using apache to proxy requests to the web service, therefore the target url/port and the url/port serving the applet are the same -- [URL] Also, the rossdomain.xml file is located in the root of the web app which serves the applet rather the web service; however, since the requests are proxied the url for the file is [URL]

I'm trying to display the profile images from both facebook and twitter. For facebook, the URLs I'm receiving are something like this (not actual urls):[URL]... Which is then redirected to the 'actual' url like this:[URL].. I'm also doing this with twitter, with the same issue (redirected url).
So, when I load the image, it loads fine. But when I close the container that the image is in, then I get the security sandbox violation. I can get this all to work if I add the URL from the 'actual' image url like this:

I have written a simple upload component in Flash, but I am now having issues in uploading due to a Security Sandbox error. I now know this is due to the fact I am uploading from one domain, to another, but 1, this used to work, 2, i have implemented a cross domain xml file by placing it in the root of the domain I'm serving from. There is also the following code at the top of my movie that used to work:
System.security.allowDomain("*"); Here is the plan, upload from admin.subdomain.serveraddress.net to serving.serveraddress.net, but it doesn't work

My SWF resides on domain A, is loaded by a web site on domain B and is trying to ping URL (URLLoader.load) on domain C. But I am getting "#2048: Security sandbox violation" .. why? Of course I have read the manual, I saw the security white paper but I do not understand it. Don't you know any blog or such where it is explained for dummies? With lots of examples and maybe a table showing what is allowed and what is not?

In my Flash app, I'm connecting to my server like this:
Security.loadPolicyFile("xmlsocket://example.com:12860");
socket = new Socket("example.com", 12869);
socket.writeByte(...);
socket.flush();
At port 12860 I'm running a socket policy server, which (according to this document) correctly serves up my policy like this:
[Code]...
I get no security warnings, which I used to get before the policy server was in place. Still, the connection to port 12869 doesn't work. It's made (I can see with Wireshark and on the server), but no data is sent by Flash. It might be worth knowing that the SWF itself is served from example.com as well.

So, this is a copy of another post I made, but I get a sneaking suspicion I put the post in the wrong forum:[URL]..The summary:
The Socket class in flash player sometimes, for some users (across all sorts of OS and Browsers) will not ask for the policy file from port 843 first, but instead will go straight to the port of the outgoing request, which in this case is our game server, who doesn't really understand the request.
In every case so far the user *is* using the latest version of flash too, so it's not an issue without outdated policy methods, which would have been my first guess.For most people it works just fine, but I posted a log in the thread for one of the non-working players. It's pretty mysterious, and I haven't found a fix yet... though I'm going to experiment with some work arounds.

I am getting a strange problem while I am making my release build swf.The swf is supposed to make some internal server calls and then display the data and also play it.When I make a release build swf and excute it, while making server calls it throws exceptions likeSecurityErrorHandler: [SecurityErrorEvent type="securityError" bubbles=falsecancelable=false eventPhase=2 text="Error #2170: Security sandbox violation:file:///Path to the swf/WebPlayer.swf cannot send HTTP headers to **Method Name to bring data from the server***]And after this nothing can be done as everything depends on the data from the server..I have updated my cross-domain.xml on the server to support the master-only policy file but that also didnt ..My cross-domain.xml is
<cross-domain-policy>
<site-control permitted-cross-domain-policies="master-only"/>
<allow-access-from domain="*"/>

I haven't fully grasped how the flash security model works, and now I've ran into a problem. I have a base SWF that loads a game loader swf, which in turn loads the actual game.What I'm trying to do is taking a current bitmap snapshot of the running game. This works fine before the loader swf has loaded the game. When the game is loaded, I get a security violation because the game has images pulled from facebook. Is this something that can be solved on my end, or restricted by security in the game swf?

I'm trying to create a simple Flash chat application for educational purposes, but I'm stuck trying to send a policy file from my Java server to the Flash app (after several hours of googling with little luck). The policy file request reaches the server that sends a harcoded policy xml back to the app, but the Flash app doesn't seem to react to it at all until it gives me a security sandbox error.

Server side is Rails.
Client side is Flash, users will upload directly to S3
I need a flexible way to generate S3 policy files, base64 encode them, and then distribute the resulting signed policy to the client.
Is there a good library/gem for this, or do I need to roll my own?
I'll be using paperclip to store the file, as per: [URL]
I've had a look at:

EDIT: Going to give the "Generate an upload signature..." bit here a shot: [URL]

Last time I worked with flash sockets I knew that a policy file is required only if the swf file is embedded in a different domain from the one where the socket connection is about to be made. Did newer version of flash player changed this, so now they'll alk for a policy file no matter what?

Is there a change in the policy file required for Flash Player 10 ? I have it setup so that when my (home-brewed) server receives "<policy-file-request/>" I send back the xml data, which worked perfectly with Flash Player 9, but does not work with 10.Does the policy file itself need to be changed or can I no longer send it the way I am (and instead use that port 843 method) ?

Anyone know if it is possible to keep a MASTER crossdomain policy file in a subdirectory of the domain?url...I know you can do it with a meta policy file, but I want to do it with the MASTER because without a master the meta's are ignored.I've googled this for hours and read through the official spec several times and come up with nothing. With the server I want to do this on its possible to deploy in any subdirectory except the domain root - thats just the constraints I'm under.

I monitor (and log to server) most user errors in our flash game. Quite frequently I see security errors related to trying to make requests to a cross-domain URL (usually the Facebook Graph API). 99% of our players can make these graph API calls with no issues.What I think is going on is that the client makes a request, but fails to load the crossdomain.xml file. I don't quite know how AS3 handles this in the case of a failure to load the crossdomain policy file...will it retry for every URLRequest made until it succeeds in loading it, or does it just give up forever?

I am communicating to an external server via a URLLoader and receiving the following warning: Warning: Domain domain name does not specify a meta-policy.Applying default meta-policy 'master-only'.This configuration is deprecated.
The provided link redirected me to another page, which didn't really explain how to remove this warning. It looks like it might involve modifying the crossdomain.xml file on the server, but I'm not sure exactly how. how to remove this warning?
