I am trying to build a application which can record sound in Flex 4. I am able to record sound but i am not able to save sound data in a file on web.
How can i save sound data on server in flex web application. FileStream does not work in flex web application.

View 1 RepliesI'm trying to write to a simple txt file using flash and php. After several failed attempts I decided to brake the code down to it's bare minimum and build up from there, unfortunately even that didn't work.Here's my php code.

the file it's writing to (testFile.txt) has it's access set to 777 as does the php file.I point my browser to the php file but nothing gets written to the text file. I know the server is allowing php (at least on some level) because my php mail is working perfectly.

The device the app runs on doesn't have a web server and doesn't run the flash debug player, os is xp. How can I send these traces to a text file? I noticed Arthropod writes to an html file, but I need to do this automatically without interaction.

View 1 RepliesI am new to flex framework.I have created an application using flex framework 4.1 which is having various components that are shown to the end user in the form of a popup window using <mx:TitleWindow>.This titlewindow is closed either on the click of the close button (displayed in it's titlebar) or by pressing the "escape key" on the keyboard.I coded a functionality wherein I close the current TitleWindow whenever an 'escape' button is pressed.Here is what I did.On the keydown event of TitleWindow I called this function.[code]I had to repeat this code for every TitleWindow that I have used in the project.How can I write the above functionality only once and reuse it amongst various TitleWindow and other components so that the code for the same is not repeated across various components? Every TitleWindow that I am using has different code, scripts and layout in it.

I would like to be able to specify the file name to capture the stream to. At present, the capture file is always named the same as the stream, which means if I stream for a bit, stop, then restart, the originally captured file gets overwritten. I'd like to be able to incorporate something, i.e. the stream start time, into the capture file name.
Now I know I'm not the only one seeking the ability to write a snazzy little Flash Application for SIP access. I am, however, the only one willing to start a neat little open source project to help, people like me, use SIP to its full potential.
So here it goes, I'd like (and hope) to write a SIP client for two projects. The first is a for-profit endeavor for the company I work for, and the second is a not-really-for-profit webservice I own that would have its customers benefit from on-site VoIP call. While trying to write to the socket, i am getting this java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect. Funny thing is that the socket in Flex doesn't seem to dispatch any events, is it normal for that to happen?

View 1 RepliesFor a client, i need to write a complex application used to stream tv episodes in flash format, at least, the player will be in flash. It's a first for me, and i've a lot of question, since i don't really know about streaming.But well, first, here is the constraints :
Mac server (might be migrated to linux)
PHP5
Flash
external library could be used with PHP
What i need to do at first, is to write some app (php, python, shell), or find one to convert over 500 quicktime videos to be able to be read within a flash player.Then, i'll a back office, to add videos with meta data (the meta data will be simple html inputs), and, here is an important part of the project, the ability to generate chapters for each video (manually), the client will choose the start of a chapter, give it a name.
My questions : Is there any flash player able to do that ? or will i have to use 'playlist' such as youtube to simulate chapters ? Will it be easy to use the quicktime video within a flash player ?

I'm writing a Flex app which is a kind of light CMS. The front site is using an XML file which contains texts and images links. Is it possible to write some XML inside this existing file from Flex? The fileReference allows to save XML content as a new file, but not to write inside an existing one.The XML looks like:

Is there any application which can relay another application on Flash Media server? For exmaple I have a "live" application on the server. I want another application, "liverelay" which can basically relay what is coming on the "live" application. Is it possible? If so how can I implement it? Looking forward to a response.
