I have an application running in FMIS 3.5. Everything is working. Now I want to create two application instances, one for a live stream and one for a development stream. That way I can test my application against the development stream without interfering with the application that manages the live stream.So first I created folders under my application. Say the application's name is test. I created two folders, dev and live. Then I changed my Flex 3 applications so that they would write to rtmp://mydomain.com/test/live/stream. But the application still records the live stream in test, not test/live.[code]
I restarted my vhost. My application still records my live stream into the test folder instead of test/live.So I removed those entries and restarted my vhost.Then I added a folder called streams below my test folder. And I added dev and live subfolders below streams. I saw this on another post somewhere. But this didn't work either.I have not been able to find the configuration element(s) that enable multiple instances in one application.Am I missing a configuration parameter somewhere or is this a bug in 3.5?
I have more sites, sites have some users, and each user has separate application folder
What I want is put application folder in a defined folder like following

How can i save sound data on server in flex web application. FileStream does not work in flex web application.

We use FMS 3.5 for streaming IPTV. We have a number of channels and currently our mp4 files are all held in the Media subdirectory, below vod
We want to divide them into separate channels for the the stations with their own subdirectories for organised filing but cannot see any way of doing this and then referencing the correct directory with the rtmp: via XML.
I can stream files in the root of a NAS drive (/nas_dir), but not in any of the sub folders (/nas_dir/sub/). FMS has read/write permission to all the files on the NAS but all i get is "stream not found" when I access anything in the sub folders (streams play fine from the root of the NAS) FMS is running on rh5.4

I would like to be able to specify the file name to capture the stream to. At present, the capture file is always named the same as the stream, which means if I stream for a bit, stop, then restart, the originally captured file gets overwritten. I'd like to be able to incorporate something, i.e. the stream start time, into the capture file name.
The server hosting our FMS does not have space to adequately store the media files over time. I have since connected a 500GB external drive to the server. This drive is mapped as the Z drive. I am not exactly sure how I need to edit my application.xml for all http requests to point to this external drive. Below is a small sample of the file. How would I correctly edit this file? Would I just add a line that says <Streams>/;${Z:VOD_DIR}</Streams> ? Do I need to delete either of the below lines?

We have added a few sub folders under the webroot folder. I did this so I could make a custom web page that generates the code need to display the video in a web page if it is one of the folders. My question is how do I get these folders and their content to show up in the Administrative Console? Also how do I get the videos to be logged? I have looked through the Server.xml and Application.xml files and the fms.ini but do not see any place, Am I not looking for the correct setting? Attached is a pic of the folders.

I have an application that writes traces with a timestamp when certain items are clicked or accessed. I need to write these to a text log file so that they can be accessed remotely.. The device the app runs on doesn't have a web server and doesn't run the flash debug player, os is xp. How can I send these traces to a text file? I noticed Arthropod writes to an html file, but I need to do this automatically without interaction.
View 4 RepliesWell i created an application called textchat and in its folder I copied the files from live.These allowedHTMLdomains.txt* allowedSWFdomains.txt* main.asc main.far*.Then I tested ap with * in the two allowd files. It works fine.When I change the domain from * to mydomain and restart then it blocks the application from working on that domain and any other domain.I tried putting www.mydomain.com an mydomain.com and neither makes a difference. Basically I want to block all domains except the ones in the list. I don't understand why this isn't working.

View 1 RepliesI have successfully been able to write some client-side ActionScript that allows me to record my webcam and mic data to my FMS server. The .flv files get saved to a directory under the applications directory. However, I need to process those flv files for a web application and would like those .flv files to be saved to the web app's directory (outside of the FMS application directory). I have tried changing the <Streams> tag in the Application.xml file that I placed in the FMS application directory, but that simply did not work.My goal is simple: to save the recorded stream data outside of the FMS application's directory. I have been going crazy trying to do this, but would like to know any pointers that any of you experts have. Can this be done? If not, how can I execute a server side PHP script after the stream is done recording. I know about using the exec() function in PHP, but am unsure as to how to execute that script via client-side actionscript.Here is the path to my FMS server (Linux OS) installation and the application directory. View 5 RepliesI'm running Flash Media Streaming Server and have only been serving VOD up until now. I had my network administrator open up port 1935 to the outside world during the setup process and now I can't remember if that was actually required for streaming VOD to clients. Most documentation I've read says that this port should be open, but I seem to recall reading something at one point that suggested it wasn't necessary.
I've just started messing around with publishing live streams using Flash Media Live Encoder to the Flash Media Streaming Server. I have that working without issue but was surprised to find that no authentication is required before a client running the live encoder can publish a stream to the Flash Media Streaming Server. An authentication module is available however it only works with Flash Media Interactive Server and Flash Media Development Server.
If I leave port 1935 open to the outside world, there would be nothing to stop anybody anywhere from streaming video via my server. Anyone else running a default install of Flash Media Streaming Server and with port 1935 open to the outside should see that this is true of their setup as well. I'm wondering if I can safely close port 1935 without limiting the functionality of the server or if there's some way I can require authentication prior to publishing a live stream even though I'm not on the four-and-a-half-times-more-expensive edition of the product.

In an asc file, I am trying to retrieve some data from a server that uses JSON as its exchange format each time someone connects to a specific application. ( I can't control the exchange format)To do that I send a POST using the sendAndLoad method of a LoadVars ObjectSo far I only managed to get the HTTP header. The target object from the sendAndLoad method seems to be empty .he response format from the server is like this :{"result":{"uid":"24947431041778945007157724608309","sid":"20825068196 030559827758762683967"} (I got it by doing a POST with cURL)ince the data doesn't have the attribute=value&attribute2=value2..."format, I think I will not be able to get themoes anyone know if it is possible to first get and then parse these data using either ServerSide ActionScript's API

I'm trying to make a software which sends video and audio data to a flash media server by using RTMP protocol. Currently, my program can communicate with a flash media server correctly. RTMP specifications does not describe about the raw data in video/audio messages, so I muxed raw H.264 and AAC data into video/audio messages and sent to the server. The server seems to accept them, but a video player cannot playback the stream sending from the server. The player just says "Loading..." For a test purpose, I sniffed the network packets between Wirecast and the flash media server and ripped off only video and audio data. Then, I muxed those data into video/audio message and sent to the flash media server. In this case, the video player connected to the server can playback the stream correctly.
I checked the stream sent from Wirecast, the stream seems not to be H.264 raw data because those data are not started from 0x17 instead of H.264 start code. With those situation, I am wondering what kind of container format I should use for H.264/AAC data to the flash media server.
How would one create custom class in Flash Media Server 4 in asc code file?[code]...
