My 100 div is ontop of the frame on a normal webpage, but I have to load a flash page in the frame. Unfortunately the flash in the frame shows overtop of my 100 DIV. I can't set the z-index of the flash object because I don't control that webpage!

It works great in all browser except for IE8 (IE7 and IE9 work fine). IE8 has a bad drawing problem when the window is being moved. Here's an example:Open the example in IE8, or if you're using IE9, hit F12 for developer tools, then select Browser Mode: IE8 using IE8 Standards.Drag the window around quickly and you'll see a very bad redraw of the iframe.

Nov 19, 2009I have a Flash movie that is loaded inside an iframe. In this Flash movie I have a link to a Word document. When using IE the link does not work. This only happens when using a Word doc, inside the iframe with IE. Please see [URL] Click on the first link using IE, you will see a window popping out and then disappearing instantly.

ActionScript 3.0 :: ExternalInterface.call Inside Iframe Not Working In IE?
Jan 14, 2009The structure of my site is as follows:
mainPage.html contains - menu.swf & iframe1
iframe1 contains - subpage.html
subpage.html contains - subMenu.swf & contentpage.html
The way it works is that when menu.swf is clicked it changes the .src of iframe1 to load the appropriate subpage.html. Then when you click the subMenu.swf it changes the .src of iframe2 to load the appropriate contentpage.html[URL]..
It all works perfectly in Firefox but in IE the ExternalInterface call from the subMenu never reaches the container page to change the .src of the iframe.It seems as though it's something to do with the .swf being inside the iframe because I am still able to call a javascript function from within the iframe using an html button.

Jun 17, 2010I have been using Flash for years by the skin of my teeth. I like the asthetics so I can seem to stop using it. Anyway. I just threw this website together using a flash menu at the top and an iframe in the center to change the content. I know I could just re-do the whole site and make it work but I think that I am probably missing a really simple code fix in Flash to make Firefox load the pages in the iFrame. The website is www.greathousefarm.com and I am on a mac so I did it checking Safari and it worked perfect. Than my husband checked it in Firefox and it kept opening a new window instead of loading into the frame. [code]...
Is there a simple code addition I can use to tell Firefox to target the frame?

Oct 21, 2010I've got a div over an iframe, in the iframe there's a website that contains a youtube movie. On mac firefox and safari everytyhing works fine, on windows both IE and FF put flash on top of my div.
The situation I have is really similar to google image interface, I noticed that google images manages to correctly overly an immage over a website with flash content in any browser both win and mac.
How they manage to do that? Considering they have no access to iframed page code. I tried reading their code to find solution with no success.

Since there is no real way to actually integrate the Facebook iFrame into the website, I was thinking of simply trying to overlay the iFrame on the Flash website. This is done fairly easily from what I understand but have another issue. I want to be able to disable the iFrame when I select a button on my Flash website. Is this at all possible. Any other routes I could consider?

The weird thing is the video does not play when loaded inside the iframe, but if I go to the html source and cut and paste the tag outside of the iframe it works.[url]...
Flash 9 :: Iframe Containing Swf Displays On Top Of All Other Swfs?
Nov 21, 2008I need my SWF banners to display in an IFRAME, and after a set amount of time, they need to animate and end up behind another SWF on the page.
Currently JPGs and GIFs do this just fine, but when the IFRAME contains a SWF, it displays on top of the other SWF, not behind it.
I've already tried the following:
-setting z-index on the SWF and IFRAME
-setting wmode=transparent
I know the obvious solution here is to use object/embed code in the div, but for reasons beyond my control and too annoying to discuss here, this isn't an option. The SWFs must be placed using an IFRAME. This makes setting WMODE impossible, and when the IFRAME contains a swf, the browser ignores z-index.

Google Chrome Should Not Display Flash Above Div Or Iframe
Mar 31, 2011I have a div that I want to be able to display over an iframed youtube flash player (and I do not want to embed the object directly) or iframed flash advertising. So far, my solution is to display an transparent iframe behind the div, which works for Firefox, Safari, and IE8, however, Google Chrome doesn't appear to follow suit. Because the flash objects are iframed from a third party site, I can't modify their wmode, either.

Javascript :: Flash Via Iframe In Safari Is Breaking?
Dec 21, 2011I'm trying to load an iframe into a div via ajax. The iframe serves Flash content.
There are four divs (above each other) with the same Flash-through-iframe implementation, and I show and hide these divs to correspond with the user's navigation. This works well, except in Safari. I triple-checked my JavaScript that toggles the divs (using display: none and display: show), but it doesn't work in Safari.

Jan 22, 2010We are developing our app in flash/flex builder for the front end hitting .NET backend webservices. There is one section of the old app that will not be initially converted, so we need have it appear in an iFrame.
So far all that works fine.We shrink the size of the SWF in the host page to just be the menu/nav area. And underneat that I have an iframe control that loads in this page from the old site.Now the problem. in the SWF is a drop down list to enable picking a client. Since the SWF has been shrunk to about 100px high, the drop-down will only occupy within that 100px area which it's opened. This is NOT good as you can imagine. How can I make the drop-down list descend over-top of the IFRAME control and thus extend outside the SWF dimensions? Is this possible?
I tried to make the internal stage transparent and leave the SWF a little larger, about 400 px high, but the IFRAME still appears behind the SWF.
