what i am trying to do is open a new page, but at the same time open a another new page inside the 2nd pages iframe. look at code and i think you will understand better.

I purchased a website template for my business and I am having some difficulty in modifying the flash navigation. The original ActionScript code for the buttons are as follows:

View 2 RepliesI have a mx:html component in a AIR Desktop Application that load an external webpage into it...this webpage has an iframe in it and the iframe load (obviously) another page...I can't figure out how to get the code of the iframe...If I try to get the webpage content I only retrive the start page like:

It's like as the second page is not loaded, but it's actually be loaded and rendered in the browser window (i tried also using a button so I can delay the search for the iframe content.
I'm having a problem with flash/javascript/iframes. I have a flash banner that is positioned at a fixed position on the bottom of the screen. When I press a button on the banner, the page (which is an iframe) should change.
I got it to work using javascript. But it only works on the Internet. On my local computer it doesn't work. No error, nothing. it is a task for school (for my exams) so it should work only locally.

Is it possible at all yet to have an iframe inside your SWF file that loads a website with no external code..?or what about a html parser like this: as3htmlparser.sourceforge.net .can this parser do something like im asking..? or are cross site xml policies needed for such operations..?
im trying to find a way to check an external URL for specific data, but am finding it virtually impossible because of needed cross site domain policy's..im trying to accomplish this with only internal AS3 code and no server side code..
The structure of my site is as follows:
mainPage.html contains - menu.swf & iframe1
iframe1 contains - subpage.html
subpage.html contains - subMenu.swf & contentpage.html
The way it works is that when menu.swf is clicked it changes the .src of iframe1 to load the appropriate subpage.html. Then when you click the subMenu.swf it changes the .src of iframe2 to load the appropriate contentpage.html[URL]..
It all works perfectly in Firefox but in IE the ExternalInterface call from the subMenu never reaches the container page to change the .src of the iframe.It seems as though it's something to do with the .swf being inside the iframe because I am still able to call a javascript function from within the iframe using an html button.

The problem is, this works fine in google Chrome, but not in mozilla firefox or IE. So that eliminates the idea of it being a coding error on my part. Is there another way to do this that all three browsers will support?
Basically, I have a DIV, which I've set to z-index: 100. I have an iframe which I set to z-index: 0. My 100 div is ontop of the frame on a normal webpage, but I have to load a flash page in the frame. Unfortunately the flash in the frame shows overtop of my 100 DIV. I can't set the z-index of the flash object because I don't control that webpage!

It works great in all browser except for IE8 (IE7 and IE9 work fine). IE8 has a bad drawing problem when the window is being moved. I have an iframe to a page where a Flash swf file is running; does anybody have an idea how to make it transparent so that my drop-down menu should be shown perfectly? Kindly be informed I can't edit the source page (add param = wmode, value = transparent to the Flash object), only if there is any chance to make it possible in iframe or some JavaScript on my page, I have already tried allowtransparency="true" and background-color="transparent".

I believe this error occurs because the flex client is trying to run this url as I was in a internal network.Is there any way to run this url from an external network?
I have created a basic flash navigation menu bar for my website. I have added the bar into a frame on my dreamweaver page. I was just wondering if it was possible to link the buttons on my flash bar to open the pages into the main frame below my navigation bar? I am able to pass a variable from an html link that loads a separate html file and instructs the embedded file to go to a specific frame.But - I now need a link within an swf file on one page to open a new page and tell that swf to start on a specific frame and it is not working. I bought one of those templates, and i was able to get around most of the stuff. But one last thing that I have issue with is that there is an AS2 script for a button, where you can change the page that you want to be updated. But every time that I click that button, it opens the new page. but then if I use the same button in the new page, and click on it, another page will open and that current page will get closed.
