I'm trying to get the user name from the url id. and fetch results based on that. I can get the username on page.php by doing $_GET['user'], but how can i pass that to content.php. I would like to update the flashvars value argument to view another video:

I found out that I can make it work in Firefox by updating the parameter with the extra step of readding the whole flash contents.

But this does not work in IE8 as the browser won't refresh the flash contents. Any ideas on how to reload the flash contents without external dependencies like swfobject.js?
I have a flash video player in a div inside a webpage, I'm trying to create a button that will resize this div to fill the whole page and hide everything else behind it. Has anyone tried to do it?Problems:1. It causes the flash to reload and the video to restart2. In some cases a flash banner from the webpage overlays my video player no matter what z-index I give it.
View 1 RepliesI have a Flash/Flex object (Flashlight-VNC), which I would like to dynamically resize to fit the entire window after pressing a button in the Flex app. This would preferably happen without restarting the Flex app (and therefore the VNC session). I would just use the built-in Flash fullscreen mode, however Adobe's somewhat silly security restrictions prevent keyboard input while in fullscreen mode.
How exactly can I do this? I'm already using SWFObject to embed the SWF, if that helps. I am open to any solution utilizing ActionScript, JavaScript, or both, however I am not all too familiar with ActionScript or Flex, and the AS-based solutions I have found involve extending a "Sprite" object to add resize functionality, which Flashlight-VNC does not seem to use.
I draw a shape with the pen or line tool. If i did not draw it perfectly connecting the dots, i cannot fill it with the paint buck fill tool. How can you tell it to just close the structure

When the user types something on the input box then the dynamic box changes instantly and displays what the user has written.

The input_1 box has a 13 character limit. My initial font size is 200, i want to scale down so when the user types 10 letters they fit the box and they don't go out of screen. I want to use one line, so wrap or multiline is not possible.

Recently a client was concerned that their SWF was "insecure" because the XML path was coming from Flashvars. This seems to me to be something that isn't really a concern as the SWF is only displaying images / text and a few button links. I can understand how someone could path to the swf and add a remote XML path in to add javascript to the button url targets, but really what damage could this do? Eg. they could change [URL] to this [URL] Obviously they could build a fake wrapper html file around this but I still don't see how they could do anything harmful with this. Am I missing something? My next question is what is the best way to go about preventing this from happening? So far I have in my XSS checking class:

After reading a lot, SWFObject seem to be a good option. All u need to do is:
1- Include swfobject.js in header
2- Create an empty div for the flash object to be included

The only problem I have is: I don't know how to pass the flashvars via a url for an xml file. It seems to me that SWFObject does not support this. Instead, you need to create a list of flashvars as

I am dealing with the HTML page where my flash movie is embedded.
So I have a JavaScript function called getURLVar() that returns a string (a variable passed in the HTML page by the URL). That part works.
What I want to do is call that JavaScript function so I can pass its results into the flashVars property where you embed your .swf.

I am new to flash, trying to do some animation character. I have 2 queries
1. What is lock fill; whenever I am trying to fill a color, it shows lock fill....
2. If I am creating a non regular figure like say with pencil, if I draw some part of it & do other part by later; these will be assumed different objects & I am not able to fill the whole figure with a selected color.
I have a web page with a couple of Flash Input TextFields. When I press a button on my web page, I am using javascript (jQuery) to get all the values from the text fields and checkboxes etc on the page.
In order to get a value out of my Flash TextField, I understand that I have to use the ExternalInterface API. I am using ActionScript 3.0 and Flash CS4.
In the flash IDE, I have a layer with just the textbox instance and another layer 'actions', which has all the actionscript.
As soon as I put: import flash.external.ExternalInterface
in my code, then the textfields full functionality does not seem to work on the webpage.
I assumed what I had to do was something like:

then I thought that perhaps I had to call a javascript function to return the textfields value like so:

I have tried putting the ActionScript 'actions' layer in a package, but it didn't help. As you can probably tell I am new to Flash and Actionscript, and I would be very greatful if someone could point me in the right direction.
I am trying to capture the microphone and send the recording to my server.. I tried this method here but it records only a big WAV and the upload can be slow sometimes. Is there a way to capture the voice and compress it on the client side? Best method would be to send the recording while recording, but I have no Idea if this is possible. (It works for YouTube Live Webcam recording, it must work for Audio only too..)

I am having some trouble figuring out how to work auto-tabbing between input text fields when a user inputs a character. I have a series of text boxes with maxChar set to 1, and when the user inputs a character, I would like it to auto-tab to the next one. I'm putting together a crossword-style banner ad so the auto-tabbing willtremendously. All the input text fields are instanced on the stage as input1, input2, etc; not called in from a custom class.

I have a perfectly working form on my site where users input their email and it goes straight into my email inbox. However, I would like them to recieve an autoresponder message when they input an email. Although the(my) email to which user's email is sent to has an autoresponder active, my server administrator explained that when an email is recieved, an autoresponder is sent to the form/site and not the user's email address. He said I would require a code to put in my form to facilitate sending the autoresponder to the user who inputs his email in my site.
View 2 RepliesI have a form and I need the first Input Text Box to be automatically selected when the user goes to the page. I got this code and put it in but I am still have problems Use this in the frame that holds the textbox: Selection.setFocus("textboxname"); The name has to be in quotes.
When I put that code in and tested the movie it worked great but once I put it into an html page it doesnt work anymore. The text in the input box is still selected but it isnt on focus so the user still has to click in the text box to input the text. Is there a way around this?
I have some input text fields (by the text tool, not the component) in my form that I was wondering if they could be auto-formatted. I was looking specifically for dates & numbers. For example when the user inputs 082606 and then tabs away it would immediately update to 08/26/06, or when the user inputs 50000 it would immediately update to 50,000.

Here the steps I need to implement
1) User upload a pdf form
2) The form is converted in a a flash form
3) User fill the form (using a flash app)
4) User download the filled form as pdf document
Does anybody have some advices to start ? For step 2 I have found many pdf to flash converter but I need to leave the form editable.
