I am nearly finished creating the tumbler theme below. The theme uses the infinite scroll plugin and this works fine for posts that don't contain flash (photo, text, ...). Video and audio posts use flash and when the infinite scroll kicks in loading more posts it doesn't load in the flash posts. [URL]

View 1 RepliesThe project I'm working on has a massive background image (800px wide by 2585px tall) that slowly scrolls upwards. Before, I was using the code [URL].. I modified the code to scroll upwards, but in addition to having a weird intermittent bug that occasionally displays a pixel-tall blank line after the image and before looping the next, it really doesn't seem to handle dynamic loading well (I've tried using several different preloader scripts and it breaks all of them), something that may not have been an issue with the initial implementation but is now that I'm using a monstrously huge image.
Thus, my question: a. Is there another bit of free, Flash-based infinite scroll code floating around that has support for lazy-loading background objects (Say, the existing background chopped in 6)?

Now if I start the application the MyComp-component is about 200px wide and starts to expand its width to infinity. This is like some transition or animation and I don't know how to stop it. Setting something like maxWidth would solve the issue, but I don't want to set explicit values.
I need to do an endless horizontal scroll of elements within a parent MovieClip.No matter what ever method I try, an element of 'drift' occurs and eventually the elements start to overlap.I've tried using relative recursive tweening for each element according but this method seems prone to quite a bit of error after repeated starts and stops.

I've reverted to doing absolute tweens to a predefined position using a contant speed. This seems to be more accurate but still some 'drift' occurs.

i did the tutorial but something is wrong cuz when i created my own little sliding thingy and i put my mouse so it slides left or right on the right side it cuts off a bit when going infinite.I think its something to do with the positioning of my menu because its not on x=0 its on x=120.8 and i was trying to work out how to fix it but i'm stuck...and when i move the menu to x=0 it works nicely.

I'm using the HTML5 JW Player. It sizes the HTML5 video correctly, but shrinks the Flash fallback player; here's an example page: Test Page
If you view that page in IE, you'll notice that on panel 5, the video is smaller than the space it's supposed to occupy. On Firefox, it works fine because it's using the OGG video in its HTML5 video player.Is there a way to resize the Flash video via JavaScript/jQuery to fit the same space as the HTML5 video?

View 2 RepliesI've looked high and low for an answer to this and I'm hoping someone has an answer, or at least a tip on how to avoid it.I'm loading a static HTML file into a container via the jQuery load() method. This static HTML file has a script which loads a swf. When I load that particular file, I get the white screen of death (WSOD) and the page explodes and everyone in the room dies a horrible death.I've had this happen also when using the jQuery wrap methods (wrap, wrapOuter, etc.) when a swf is present.It seems manipulating the DOM with a container that has a swf object causes this. Does anyone have a solution or a way that I can prevent it happening?

The loading works fine, but some of my pages had specific jquery scripts and that's where I've struck out so far. I assumed all I needed to do was transfer the script importations, css stylesheets and the jquery functions to my main document, but it won't work.
I also tried importing the html as a the complete html, which works on it's own, but not when imported into the main document. Most recently I heard I should try shifting the jquery function calls to the end of the loaded document, to after the content, My scripts work, just not when imported, so I suppose my question is how can I make the main- and imported documents play nice with each other? What say you we make this a jump-start tutorial for all us noobs to reference?
I know you can use the mouse wheel to scroll through text in the flash componenet scroll pane, but is there a way to set it up to work with the code I have posted below?

View 3 RepliesI've gotten to chapter 5 in my AS 3.0 classroom book but I need to use wisdom today (CHAPTERS before I gain it for myself),I need to create a custom scroll bar with buttons that function just like the UIScrollBar but more visually suited to our projects. the boss demands it.
I found several tutorials on creating the custom scrollBar, however, they don't include the buttons and I'm unable to find a tutorial on how to create a button scroller (I figured I could link them both to my "info_txt" after creating them separately).
how to create an AS3 text scrollBar WITH buttons? how to create a nice scroll effect with buttons(if creating the scroll bar and buttons apart then linking them to the same text field is not possible or a faulty way to accomplish this).
I am having endless trouble trying to get flash to scroll with a mouse scroll wheel on both PC and Mac. Pixel Breakers code "swfmacmousewheel" seems to be the way to go but despite everyone raving about how amazing it is and showing many version of it working very nicely, I cant get it to work. Right now. My Processor is trembling as hell because of my Flash looping infinitely and I haven't saved my file. How do I escape from it? Is there a default loop count in Flash CS5? I do hope so there is.
View 1 RepliesI have an issue with SWFAddress in Flash: when the user navigates to a page within my flash app, I call "setValue". This changes the URL in the browser's address bar, which in turn calls the "externalChange" event in flash. This event causes the flash app to load the page displayed in the url bar... so the app keeps changing the flash page and updating the url bar into infinity.
How do I know if the url bar was changed by flash or manually by the user?

View 1 RepliesI'm new to Flex/ActionScript (.NET/Java has been my main playground so far).I'm trying to build a Flex app that has a list that is meant to look and behave like an infinite list (of items - which can be any object). The idea is that the user should be able to scroll up or down and never reach the end of the list in either direction.
An example would be a list of numbers. Scrolling up will show negative numbers; scrolling down will show positive ones. Now, my list is a simple Flex Spark list (using Flex Hero).It is bound to a data provider that is an ArrayList.My initial idea was to listen to the scroll event and add/remove items as needed. However, in the current build of Flex Hero, there is a bug that doesn't raise scroll events for vertical scrollbars sometimes (http:url].....).So, I'm using the workaround suggested in the link above (i.e listening to the propertyChanged event of the list's scroller's viewport. The event though only gives me the current verticalScrollPosition. And it looks like the default spark list supports smooth scrolling and raises the event many times before the list scrolling comes to a standstill (it is a nice visual effect).Now, I need to :
Figure out whether it is scrolling up or down (how do I do that?)
Figure out which items are visible. I can get this from:

Add/remove items as needed, so that the user can scroll up and down forever, never reaching the end of the list in either direction.

Here is my situation, everytime a user gets a new highscore, i wanna send a facebook message into my game account, and i've managed to do that with infinite session, i've stored the session data with the attributes of my account and always connects directly to my profile and posts it.
Now imagine that i want to do the same thing, but with another profile, is it possible to user the same application? Any ideas how would i identify the different accounts before logging in?
Or do i have to have different facebook programs doing the same things for different account?
