I made a little animation for a client. Its a repeating movement of a cat. The flash-file works great and shows an endless animation without interruptions. But after I integrated that animation, it plays the animation wrong. It sticks on some point. Heres the code and the link:
I am nearly finished creating the tumbler theme below. The theme uses the infinite scroll plugin and this works fine for posts that don't contain flash (photo, text, ...). Video and audio posts use flash and when the infinite scroll kicks in loading more posts it doesn't load in the flash posts. [URL]
I am trying to embed a flash movie into a facebook (iframe) canvas. When i request the page locally to test the movie is embedded. When I view the same page via the facebook application url - the movie doesn't appear (but other page content does).
[Code]...
Are there any special tricks required to make a flash movie play in a facebook canvas application?
I need to be able to load up different flash files when users click an image in my gallary. My current solution works perfectly fine in Firefox, but Chrome and IE are not working and it isn't giving any error messages. I use jquery to change the embed source
This code here works if the src is filled with my videolink <object width="620" height="348"> <param name="allowfullscreen" value="true"/> <param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"/> <embed src="myvideolink...." type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always" width="620" height="348"/> </object>
Now my next step is to fill it via javascript $('a.videolink, a.videobutton, a.articlevideobutton').click(function(event){ event.preventDefault(); $('.video object embed').attr('src', $(this).attr('href')); });
But this isn't working... empty flash is displayed. But the generated source code seems ok. The href of the link is in the src attribute of the ebmed tag. Source code is correct again but still not playing my video $('a.videolink, a.videobutton, a.articlevideobutton').click(function(event){ event.preventDefault(); $('.video').append('<object width="620" height="348"><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true"/> <param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"/> <embed src="'+$(this).attr('href')+'" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always" width="620" height="348"/></object>'); });
Is it possible to switch an animation FLASH to an animation JQuery? I am actually using [URL].. the problem is IE.. With big animation IE is very VERY slow and we can't abuse it. I would like to know if there is any other pluging i could use and it is working with IE 7+.
I am making a dynamic banner system which can handle img banners, as well as flash banners done with object/embed. The entire site makes heavy use of jQuery, including handling the 'click' events.
This obviously isn't a problem when it comes to tracking the clicks on the image itself (i track the click on the parent DIV tag. However, it fails when the advert is an SWF, as I suspected it would.Is there a jQuery workaround that would allow me to capture a click on a Flash element with the DOM?
Im creating a viewing menu using the kind if fish eye method used from this site: [URL] (sorry for posting the link like that but sending the site is a lot easier than attatching all the files and I wasn't allowed to send a link till I had 50 posts, while I'm only on 5 now haha) I need to be able to stop the animation in mid flow so the selected image stays large while I move the mouse around, without a different image inlarging instead, and then have it moving again when I want. I am a complete noob to AS3 so I dont know if there is a simple way of doing this or if it's complicated.
I'm currently working on a project where i use SWFObject to include a flash header (some fire animation). Also I'm using jQuery for serveral animations and effects on the page, like Imagesliders and hovering effects.The problems I got:high CPU usage: about 50% on a Intel Q9550 low frame rates of jQuery animations due to the high CPU usage.The flash animation seem to stuck when i trigger any jQuery animations or effects.I tried to remove serveral jQuery animations and simplify the page, but also with only an hover menu, the flash animation stucks and the jQuery animations are laggy when hovering the menu.The only browsers where my page runs smooth are Chrome and Opera, but only with high CPU usage. FF3&4 and IE7-9 produce bad frame rates all time.I tried to reduce the jQuery internal fx interval, that seems to help, but the animations were not smooth any more. Am I the only one having this issue, i could not find any other postings here with that topic?!url...We changes the graphic card of the computer, from a GeForce 8400GS to a 8800GT. After that, the animation run smooth. I never thought that it would be the graphic card ^^
Creating a jQuery slideshow comprised of several images with transitions is easy. But I'm trying to have a Flash animation (SWF) stand in for one of the items in the slide show. In other words, I'd like to see transitions between the following: We've tried several of the jQuery slideshow plug-ins, but the Flash animation doesn't play well -- for example, if we use a simple dissolve transition, the Flash never disappears
I have a couple flash animations I made for some websites, not too complicated mostly timeline animation and I am getting the same problem when I embed them into the html. The flash covers the jQuery drop down menu when you hover over the navigation. I did not create the navigation and it is behind a CMS.
I have a Flash video which sits in a small box on the side of my website and plays video.When the user clicks on a 'View larger' button I need it to display in a lightbox - but continue playing from the same place.A simple piece of jquery like this works fine to move the video to another DIV (such as a jquery UI popup window).
$('.holder', dialog).append($("#DemoVideo")[0]);
However in Chrome + FF it restarts the video from the beginning - basically it reinitializes the <object>.My solutions are either : Position it absolutely with CSS in the first place and move it to the popup with CSS and some nasty JS event resize handlers. Remember the position and just instantiate a new video player and make the user live with the delay of rebuffering
I'm doing photo gallery and like to enlarge an image when I click on it with some animation like it's in flash (the picture slowly expands first by x-axis and after by y-axis and the space around the picture dims), that it scales to it's largest possible size to fit in screen, but it can be any other animation. I found some topics about this, but I don't want to use any 3rd-party plugin (including flash, drupal...) to do it. Maybe it can be somehow done by jQuery...
I'm having a problem with my imported HTML text - basically when I switch on 'Embed fonts' for a text field, Flash will only ever render one line break, regardless of how many </p> <br /> or whatever other type of line-breaking tag you can imagine are present.What this means is that all my paragraphs are squashed up into one, with no double line-break after the closing </p> tag, as you'd expect.I've used html text with css before and normally experience the opposite problem, whereby whitespace linebreaks in the imported text are rendered, but this problem is a new one on me.
I'm scaling onstage MovieClips via AS properties "scaleX" or "scaleY", which kills any kind of animation the clips have within their container MovieClip, be it Classic or Motion Tweens. When I don't scale the MovieClips, they animate fine. I'm able to tell the clips to "gotoAndStop" on their own internal frames, and that doesn't affect their animation within their container clip. I'm referencing the clips via AS w/ their instance names defined in the IDE. I've also tried different clips and recreated them, getting the same behavior.
Is it possible to scale a clip via AS and still have it animate within its container timeline?
Does applying an AS property to an onstage instance somehow dissassociate it from other timeline properties?
Let's start off by saying that I am the greenest of green newcomers to the world of Flash and Actionscript. I have created several animations based off of the great camera movement tutorial found here: [URL]Everything works great when I have my actionscript code in a single frame environment. However, I am currently trying to figure out how to create a simple menu/welcome screen that will allow the user to choose which animation to play before returning to the menu and choosing another. When I move my code to frame 2 (as I am trying to create my menu on frame 1), my animation does not work correctly. As I am so new to this, I'm afraid there are very basic concepts I do not understand and this is preventing me from effectively researching and troubleshooting this problem on my own.
Using the Kirupa racing example tutorial files, if I simply move the actionscript to frame 2 I see a continuous loop which seems to include the initial placement of the scene's components, but it doesn't stay in the frame to allow for any camera movement or to continue with the animation. This makes sense to me, as it is continuously looping between frames 1 and 2. When I attempt write this code on Frame 1: gotoAndPlay(2);, I simple see static images of the scene's elements (the tire and the car) and no animation. I had expected it to play as normally as it does when the actionscript is located on Frame 1. What basic concepts am I missing here and does anybody have any advice on how I should proceed?
It works with Firefox and Chrome, but something's not quite right in IE6. Sadly, one of the project requirements is supporting this browser, so even if it workis in IE7, I need to work this out.I know there's SWFObject, but I'd rather not use it (we are loading already a bunch of JS files, we don't want more).Even this won't work:
I have read that you can only embed Animated Gif if you want to send emails containing animation. Is this true, or can Flash be embedded somehow where a user receives the email and when they open the message the animation is playing in the email and not as an attachment file.
Also is it possible to make the embedded animation interactive, where the user can click on a next button, to go thru a slide of images?
In my project at the moment I am using Nicola Hibbert's liteAccordion slider.I have it all set up and it's working nicely but the project needs to have a YouTube video on each of the slides.I have used the classic embed code from YouTube to get the desired result, In Firefox and other browsers it's all good, singing and dancing.In Chrome, tears stream down my face as it has totally broke.
How can I display alternate HTML with the jquery.swfobject plugin for browsers without Flash? I'm unable to find any documentation or examples showing how to do this.
I am a web designer and I do like to hand code using jquery however, I think it would be much faster to use gui applications like flash to create animations especially on the fly as well as support for writing and editing source code.
i'm wanting to create a flash animation and embed it into my website.i used to do this with a gif image within a DIV and make the position of the DIV vary via javascript so that the image moved across the screen. i'm looking now for a more professional touch via Flash.
A gif's background is transparent so as it moves over differen't areas of the webpage it shows not the bounding rectangle but only the character image itself. Is this possible via flash - or will flash always be a boxed image that is moved?
I'm using the HTML5 JW Player. It sizes the HTML5 video correctly, but shrinks the Flash fallback player; here's an example page: Test Page
If you view that page in IE, you'll notice that on panel 5, the video is smaller than the space it's supposed to occupy. On Firefox, it works fine because it's using the OGG video in its HTML5 video player.Is there a way to resize the Flash video via JavaScript/jQuery to fit the same space as the HTML5 video?
I'm scaling onstage MovieClips via AS properties "scaleX" or "scaleY", which kills any kind of animation the clips have within their container MovieClip, be it Classic or Motion Tweens. When I don't scale the MovieClips, they animate fine. I'm able to tell the clips to "gotoAndStop" on their own internal frames, and that doesn't affect their animation within their container clip. Is it possible to scale a clip via AS and still have it animate within its container timeline? Does applying an AS property to an onstage instance somehow dissassociate it from other timeline properties?
I've got a pretty heavy animation like 10Mb and it needs to be compiled in a single .swf file. Is it possible to embed .flv animation and at the same time stream it with some buffering at the start?
