Flash :: Keep Object Position When Resizing Stage?
Nov 4, 2010
im trying to keep a object in a certain position in the screen, without resizing it too (with the stage)
function Resize(e:Event = null):void
{
if ((stage.stageWidth)/(stage.stageHeight) > fundos.width/fundos.height)
{
[Code]....
my stage is resizing all ok (keeping the aspect ratio) and im trying to add a nav img that would stay in the same position as i resize the browser screen
I have a stage bigger than the size of a browser, and I have a camera to navigate around the area.Now when I click on a button, I will have something pop up blocking the whole browser, like a lightbox effect with another box on top of the blocker.The problem now is, when the blocker pops up, its position is not on the TOP LEFT corner of the browser. I've tried stage.align, but it would makes the camera or other object on stage position run.So is there any other way I could get the blocker to position according to the browser, not the stage?[code]
I have built a site in AS2 and would like to know the position of a ball so that I can move a sign to it always.The whole website is in AS2, but I think I have written an incomplete code below for AS3. I need it for AS2 because the whole site is in AS2. The get position of ball is wrong, but I just wanted to throw in some ideas eg.
Code:
// get position of ball ball_mc.addEventListener(<what goes here?>, ball_pos); function signMove(Event:MouseEvent):void{[code]..........
There is an fscommand function to turn the flash movie into full screen. But is there a way to control where exactly the flash window opens on the desktop (and whether it is maximized - note. NOT full screened).
My client is complaining that whenever he opens the flash movie (exe) it is shifted to the right such that the X window close button is not visible. Obviously he can just drag the window to the left, but you know, you gotta always make your client happy. Is this possible without using an external application like zinc?
How can I get the absolute stage position of an object within a custom flex component that I exported from flash? In my Flex application I'm using the component and resizing it by setting its height and width properties. I want to place another component on the stage but I want it to appear at the same x and y coordinates of a text field in my custom component.
i'd trying to build an interactive tree that allows the user to move the tree's branches and nodes. the lines (branches) of the tree are drawn programmatically between points (nodes and tips). i'd like for the user to click on points to drag them while having connected lines and points move correspondingly. i've gotten this to work to some extent using the code below:
ActionScript Code: function startMoveOa(evt:MouseEvent):void { thisPtOa = Sprite(evt.currentTarget);
I'm using the stage object to align multiple MC's. My question is how do I affect a MC's position if I want to have it be centered on both axis but 100px away from the bottom margin instead of the top relative to the size of the window?here's my positioning code:
Also if i'm using an empty MC to load external swf's, do the external swf's have to have AS for positioning as well or do I position the empty MC in the base movie?
In my Flash Application (AS3), I want to get the stage size and use that so my objects (which the user controls) can't go outside of the screen. However, when I use:stage.stageWidth;stage.stageHeight;The values I get aren't actually what I want. They give me the stage size, but if I resize the window, the numbers change as well. Now, in a html page, I don't think that will matter, because the user can't resize it... however, I'd like for it to be more solid than relying on the window size.stage.width;stage.height;However, those gave me "801" and "601", one greater than my actual stage size. Those values did not change when I resized the window, but they were one greater.
I've got a movie that plays, but i want the stage/flash object to expand 200% for a more entertaining experience... I found one source that used js to resize the object, but couldn't seem to get it to work.
I've used the random motion tutorial, and got that working. Now i'd like things to resize themselves depending on where they are on the screen.. For example, if its at the very top, its 75% and if its at the bottom, 125%.
I've got an animation in Flash that's made of a number of large images - too large it turns out - flash keeps crashing and running out of memory.
I'd like to scale these down to 50% but maintain their on-stage size in Flash (or at least keep the positioned the same). I've scaled them down on disk, but this scales them in flash too (so messes up their relationships).
Then I load an external swf into a mc, and it goes full screen as expected. BUT the main swf that loaded that external one, at the time of load, suddenly gets scaled back down to its normal size: 960x600, on the top left corner of the Player Window (or the full screen), so somehow at 0,0. Whn I unload the external swf, I can put the code stage.scaleMode = StageScaleMode.SHOW_ALL; to get it back to where it was. But unfortunately I have some buttons from the Main swf that are supposed to be on top of the loaded one, and should stay where they are. But now they all move because of this scaling down.
the mc that is being used as a container for the loaded external swf is an empty mc located at 0,0. The external swf has the same size as the main one: 960x600
I searched and tried things but could not get it to stay in show-all mode when loading this external swf...
I have a weird problem with Safari 5.0 and Flash player 10.1. When I resize the flash html object via ExternalInterface and JavaScript flash will jump down the page a little bit for a fraction of a second. Here is an example: [URL]. This may not be a flash question at all. It may be a CSS or JavaScript problem. It seems to only be a problem with Safari 5 and Flash 10.1.
You can view the source of the html page. Here is the code inside the sample FLA: one.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, oneClick); one.buttonMode = true; two.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, twoClick); two.buttonMode = true; this.addEventListener(Event.ADDED_TO_STAGE, addedToStage); [Code] .....
I've made a liquid layout with 100% Height and 100% Width to get the page to display in every monitor resolution and it's working fine. The only problem is with four movie clips that I want to position in a different way after resizing ( I want the logo to be always on the top left, the nav bar on the top right and so on?.)
I have a Flash/Flex object (Flashlight-VNC), which I would like to dynamically resize to fit the entire window after pressing a button in the Flex app. This would preferably happen without restarting the Flex app (and therefore the VNC session). I would just use the built-in Flash fullscreen mode, however Adobe's somewhat silly security restrictions prevent keyboard input while in fullscreen mode.
How exactly can I do this? I'm already using SWFObject to embed the SWF, if that helps. I am open to any solution utilizing ActionScript, JavaScript, or both, however I am not all too familiar with ActionScript or Flex, and the AS-based solutions I have found involve extending a "Sprite" object to add resize functionality, which Flashlight-VNC does not seem to use.
Is it possible to do what this tutorial shows but instead of having your mcs be positioned related to the stage, have them be positioned related to the browser window?
im loading photos of different aspect ratios with a loader onto a child holder frame_mc. I wanted to know what AS3 commands do i need to work on to get the frame_mc to resize to the new childs dimensions and centerize itself on the main stage? (as in event listeners, functions, vars etc)
I am trying to resize a 2 or more movieclips, but when I resize them I want them to have a relative postion to one another for example decreasing the size of two movieclip touching each other, I would like the movieclips to maintain a relative x,y position.. so if decreased or increased in size they will still look the same.This movie clips are on the stage, so I can not attach it from the library.
I have a sprite that I zoom out using the sprite.z property. Once the z property has been modified the sprite x and Y values do not match the stage x and y real value. So far so good and what I was expecting!
What I want to accomplish is that when the user clicks the stage the sprite tweens to where the mouse was clicked but I don't know what x and y position to send to the sprite. ( since stage 200,200 is something like 400,400 for the sprite depending on z value)
I tried Utils3D.projectVector using Matrix3D of the perspectiveProjection of the stage without success. (i.e. I get Vector3D(Infinity, Infinity, NaN))
I could fallback to scalex/scaley but sprites.z gives me the correct scale, perspective projection, paralax scrolling since I have sprites on different z level all for free. I would have to recode all that.
lets say i have a sprite on the stage and one movieclip inside it. now i want to tween or just set that movieclip x and/or y position according to stage position. so for example i want to set mc.y = - 100; (by which i mean -100 to stage, not sprite which mc is in.)
I didn't find that my flash is larger than the browsering area on screen until I publish and preview it in my browser but I do want all the content to be displayed on the screen. All I need to do is to move everything up for about 150 px.(in other words, to shorten the stage by 150 from the top but I can only cut the stage from the bottom ) Is there a way I can change the position of the stage like what I can do to the artboard in AI?
I'm a bit rusty of my trig, so I'm not sure the best way to do this ... I need to position 2 movie clips on the stage that relate to each other they can't be nested ,the registation points are in the center, assume "clip B" is 50 px to the left of "Clip A" as pictured in the diagram to the left , when "clip A" is rotated, I need clip B to follow ( still 50px ) away but with new _x and _y relative to the rotation of "clip A" as in the diagram right.
I came across a problem where my flash timer keeps changing position as the browser window is resized or if the user scrolls down the page the timer will move with it?It also changes position on different monitor screens.Is there an easy way without too much code to position it at a certain position on my page :[URL]As you can see its too low and should be in line with 'Comming soon'Im also using Dreamweaver if that makes a difference.
I'm trying to create a boundary for a player object, controlled with arrow keys, in my game using the main stage's height and width. For example, one test point is at the top edge of the player object's bounding box so that when the player object's head touches the stage's top edge, the player can't move anymore to the north. The player object is manually instantiated to the center of the stage by using the Flash stage editor so it will start at the center before the program starts.The problem is that right at the start of the program, I can no longer move the player object up or down with the arrow keys but I can still move it left or right. The intention is to allow the player to move north until the player object's head touches the top edge of the main stage.[code]
I have a root stage, and a MC that is called from the root stage.Now from that MC, i will called in another MC2, and I wanted to placed the MC in the center of the stage. The reason I could not use normal ADDED_TO_STAGE at MC and define the center is because MC is not place in the exact position of the root stage (as in x, y=0). So if I would target MC2 at MC stage center, it would not be the exact center of the root stage/screen.How can I called the root stage properties rather than adding MC2 into the stage?
