Flash :: Open File With Default Application On IOs?
Apr 5, 2012
I'm trying to openWithDefaultApplication a downloaded file (stored into app documents directory) on iPad. I installed PDFReaderLite, still openWithDefaultApplication don't rexognizes extension pdf. What can I do to make PDFReaderLite be a default app for opening pdf?
I want my app (AIR app ported on iOS) to be able to show file located on the remote server and open it with default app (if there's one on device). Is it possible (maybe one can somehow use openWithDefaultApp here)?
UPD: I succeed with downloading (into File.documentsDirectory). I can't force iPad to open downloaded files.
UPD2: I tried to use both openWithDefaultApp and NavigateToUrl.
In my Flash application users must be able to download or open PPT files nested in application's subfolder.When I run .*swf file, it works fine (Save file dialog appears), but if I run .exe file, nothing happens.[code]I suspect that "navigateToURL" function doesn't work in this case.
I need to open a file in its default app, on windows XP SP2, in flashplayer 7.I've searched and found some exe files that claim to be able to do just that, but i cant get it to work.
[URL]
I've managed to open a given exe file from the fscommand folder, but cant get the above examples to work - i think the problem is, that i cant send parameters to the exe file.
Is there a work around to the getURL Firefox issue? I am having trouble getting Firefox to open my file from my exe when FF is set to my default browser. If FF is already open, the getURL functions fine. If FF is closed, I have to click on my button twice in order to open the file (ie, click once opens a blank window, click again and the file opens) I have FF 2.0.0.1, Flash MX 2004 Prof. I have tried setting an interval to have the getURL fire again but I can't seem to get it to work.
But when I click on that link in our standalone.exe, on my system "ultraedit" gets opened and it tries to open a path on the local system and the webpage adress after that. "C:ProjectsInflationhttp:\www.google.de".
Is there a reg key or custom GPO out there that will let me default Flash Player to open in Low Quality mode? Whenever a flash site opens, it opens in High Quality.Using Win 2003 SP1, with IE6 with Flash Player 9.0.
I'm working on my companys website and I am trying to make a link from flash open the default mail program so they can send us an email. All of that works fine and dandy.... on PCs. While using a mac I was not able to get the email to go through, it will just send back an undeliverable email. Does anyone know of a solution for this or am I going to have to completely change the way that I'm doing it?
Heres my HTML Code: infoEmail.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, getInfo); function getInfo(e:MouseEvent){ navigateToURL(new URLRequest("mailto: email@emailaddress.com"), "_self"); } I know that the PC email actually goes through, it forwards it to me.
What is the best way to open and parse and excell file from a Flex Application built using Adobe Flash Builder 4.5. I have done tons of research, most lead me to external libraries, I could deal with that if that is the best approach, but prefer a built in method.
I just got my MacBook and am trying out the Flash BUilder on said platform. I've installed Firefox and Google Chrome on my MacBook but I can't seem to find a way to set which browser would launch my Flex apps whenever I hit the Run button inside Flash Builder. As far as I know, I can locate the Browser property on the Project Properties on my Windows copy of Flash Builder but I couldn't over here at my Mac. Any thoughts?
I want to create a Flash application but I do not want to pay the $700 for Flash Professional CS5 (neither to pirate it). I have been looking at previous questions here in SO and around the net for hints of free software allowing to develop flash apps.
From my current research, it seems the tools I need are: 1. FlashDevelop or similar to create and compile ActionScript code. 2. Pencil, Synfig or similar to create animation (is it possible to export to fla? 3. ?? to put everything together and compile a swf file.
My question is whether anyone has successfully followed a similar path to build a flash application using only open source. And better yet, any good web site with documentation on how to tackle such a task. I have looked at the Open Source Flash Projects page which contains a comprehensive list of flash related open-source projects and libraries...
Is it possible to open just my default mail "e.g. outlook" rather than open a browser and the outlook? on(release){ getURL("mailto:mymail@mail.com"); }
I have made one one mobile application in flash builder using flex mobile project I have a question that "why size of an .ipa file is large as I export a mobile application as iOS application.???? in compare to that same application for android takes small size!
we're developing an app that should be able to open specified file with default editor application. (so if it is .doc - it suppose to be opened by MSWord or openOffice)
But I also need to wait until user will close the editor, check if it was changed (by size and date), and upload it to the server.
So the following steps:
1) find def editor
2) open file
3) wait it be closed
4) do smth after that with the file.
now results of my research: -> opening by def editor is simple: file.openWithDefaultApplication();
but there is no way to know that editor is closed (maybe by checking that file is not locked in timer???)
-> i can start the native process and pass file as parameter BUT looks like the code NativeApplication.nativeApplication.getDefaultApplication(file.extension); does not work for any extension :( - it doesnt work for "rtf", "doc" but works for "pdf"... and [file.openWithDefaultApplication()] works fine with any file!
with that one? When I am trying to run Flash after install I get this error message: You can't open the application Adobe Flash CS4.app because it may be damaged or incomplete. Mac OS 10.6.5 Model Name: Mac Pro Model Identifier: MacPro3,1 Processor Name: Quad-Core Intel Xeon Processor Speed: 2.8 GHz Number Of Processors: 2 Total Number Of Cores: 8 L2 Cache (per processor): 12 MB Memory: 4 GB Bus Speed: 1.6 GHz I tried to uninstall and reinstall, same error. I couldn't launch under Leopard (10.5.x) either.
My CS5 flash crashed when I changed the name of the root folder while it was open. Swf is working fine, but .fla file wont open, I get a "Failed to open document" message. This is a disaser because I've lost two days of work. Is there anything that could be done to fix this problem?
I'm trying to record a video to the default FMS vod application with a flash movie, i'm getting this error: "NetStream.Record.NoAccess". I think the problem is not in my code, but just to make it sure, here is it:
var mycam:Camera = Camera.getCamera(); mycam.setMode(320,240,25); var myvid:Video = new Video(mycam.width,mycam.height);
[code]...
i checked and the connection to the server is fine.if i use live streaming, than it's fine (of course in this case i use the live application).It's maybe a file system related problem. I use windows 7, and given all permissions for all the users.. still dont working.
The flex compiler (mxmlc) allows the use of token substitution in the compiler config xml file, as referenced in the documentation.From the linked documentation it is clear that you can specify your own tokens for substitution on the commandline, but there are also some default/magic tokens available that Adobe has put in place.For example, the snippet below is reduced from an Adobe example on how to fiddle with the framework RSL sourcing:[code]I have highlighted two tokens in use there, namely hosted.rsl.url and build.number. These work "magically" without specifying them on the commandline.
Here is another example that vaguely shows the existence of a ${flexlib} token.Unfortunately, aside from those limited examples I can't find a whisper of documentation on what tokens are available... Is the list of tokens documented somewhere that I can't find? If not, does anyone know what the available tokens are so that this SO question can be the documentation? referenced build.number, I might as well also note that build.number doesn't seem to work quite like Adobe seems to think it does since for me it simply gives me the build number, not the whole string. ie: For flex 4.5.0.20967, ${build.number} just gives me 20967 which is not much help). I had a web link where someone was complaining about the changing implementation of these tokens, but I can't find it anymore.
I want to say that the code I am working with is the same found here: [URL] The code is working perfectly (pictures are displaying) when opening the file, work_diesel.swf by itself. However, my problems occur when I open default.swf, and then navigating to the section work. From there I hit advertising, and in that section DIESEL. HERE is where the problem is visible. The pictures are not loading AT ALL when doing it this way (the correct and final way).
I am just wondering if anyone can pin point the problem for me so I can change it. It must be said that the work_diesel.swf is loading from an external source into default.swf.
Actually I am the application is for recoeding live stream. The recorded videos are placing in the folder named live_test as specififed above.But I want to change this path. There is a folder named public in the root directory. In the "public" folder we have a folder named Recorded_Videos, I need to place the recorded videos on this folder. How can I do this.Another issue that occurs while recording is NetStream.Record.noAccess. This is occuring while the recorded video is placing on client's flash media server with the path that i specified above. But when i running it in the local flash media server(developer version), its working well. The recorded files are placed on live_test folder. In the client's server the stream is not recording, instead its showing an error like "NetStream.Record.noAccess". The code that I am using for recording live stream is follows:
stop(); var nc = new NetConnection();var CommPage = 'http://68.233.8.57/videos/destination';System.security.allowDomain(CommPage);
