I have java remoting services(more then 25) on my (Tomcat BlazeDS)server which are called from my Flex client application.I need to collect stats on them like how much time each service is taking(total time).There are three approaches I can do this in my opinion(may be more)
1) change each service and add timer at beginning and ending.bad practice
2) I can also use AOP but I feel its an over kill for this requirement.over kill

I liked the Flex because of it's cross platform and animation rich possibilities. One of the best web applications that i faced with in the inet is [URL] it has wonderful animating grid possibilities. Its server technology is in Java. How about converting this data service to PHP? That should read data from mysql in PHP.. I prefer working with PHP (as data service) and MySql (as rdbms) in Flex...

I'm working on a project where we use Flex, Spring, Hibernate and Blazeds,all working on a Weblogic server.Everything works fine and we call services at the server side from the flex app without problems,but now we need to limit the time who spent the execution of the services to 2 seconds, if any service takes more than 2 seconds the server must return a timeout to the flex app.I've been searching for a way to do this with the blazeds configuration, but it looks that it's not possible.Is there any way to achieve this? I've thought in add a filter to the blazeds requests so it can control the timeout... But I can't find any example and I don't have enough knowledge of filter.

I can add the services to the Data Services panel but I have two strange things:
1) when I want to configure the return type he doesn't let me create a new ValueObject type, I only get the bottom datagrid which states: Properties returned by the operation: Property: country_Id, provence_Id, city_Id, id_cdpc, district_Id with the related values on the right side. Why can't I create a new data type on the top?
2) When I accept this and want to add the service call to a button (drag&drop) I get the following error: Error occurred while generating code. Make sure that there are no compiler eroors and try again after reopening the file. Componentn type services.cdpc.CDPC not found... (ps: When I perform a Test Operation everything seems to be ok, I get the expected output values)
Im working on a form in Flash/php. The form must contain the possibility of checking boxes, to order material on various services. My challenge is this: How do I make it possible to check more than one box/service at a time? As it is now, when you check box/service no. 2, the first one checked goes back to inactive. I think that the problem is, that I have used radioButtons and not checkboxes from the start. how to make the technique work all the way through (in AS as well as PHP)?

Am facing issue with session timeout. Say for instance, the user logs into the application and he waits for 30 mins (session timeout time) and then tries to get a service through remote object.Ideally speaking, since the session has timeout the user shouldn't be able to hit the remote object, but this is happening the other way round.
I have a gane that uses shared object and keeps note of highscores and users names. I'm using Flex 3.5, BlazeDS 3.2.0.3978 and EJB3 for backend. There are two RPC which are important to the problem. The first call will get a list of ThirdParty objects, this works fine. The second call happens when the user clicks on a ThirdParty, the details of this object (lazy collections) are retrieved. A single object is returned with most fields serialized. I say most, because for some reason, 4 boolean fields are not serialized and are put on false by flex by default.[code]I've set blazeDS logging to debug and all fields but these booleans are shown in the output. Next, I've tried stepping through the serialization process but it's fairly easy to get lost in there.
The task is to try to connect directly to a stateless EJB deployed on Glassfish. I have already done this via Web Service and I can also connect to the EJB by calling a remote java object which uses JNDI to find and load the bean. I've downloaded BlazeDS 4 and installed in on my Tomcat server. How can I make it to listen to port distinct from 8080? I change port in channels configuration in services-config.xml, and my client application sends requests for new port, but they failHow can I make server listen to custom port?
I'm starting a flex+blazeds project. First I coded some server classes, and modified xmls (in WEB-INF). Now I want to test it with client. There (in Flash Builder) it's needed to specify path to folder where server lives. The problem is that I cannot find it. In the same time [URL] is found in browser.

I have setup a profile card which displays information about individuals by pulling data from an XML database. I have multiple text fields and couple movie clips that display images but I need a datagrid to display stats for each individual. The stat information is set as attributes on a array of XML nodes each node is a year.
Example XML <hockey><profile> <name>Wayne Gretzky</name> <image>pic1</image> <dob>Jan 26, 1961</dob> <position>Centre</position> [Code] .....
The red information is what i need to get displayed by the Data Grid for each profile. StandingEventSportGold1981 Canada CupIce HockeyBronze1984 Canada CupIce Hockey. The swf has buttons to cycle through the profiles which loads the new information from the XML.
I am following this: [URL]. And parsing the logs to get the stats of applications is hard if theres heavy traffic its hard to get everything to parse right. Would it be easier to import all the stats into mysql db once an hour that way its easier to work with?
Curious but is it possible to store unique stats through flash using AS2? My client wants it and I'm like, I don't know if that exists. He got spoiled with Google Analytics.
I am doing a game. at the beginning you select your player. Later in the game you can view your stats and stuff. In the stats area, I want it to show the player you picked. To do this I have put this on the button that you hit to select the player. On release _root.brad(name of player)=true Now, I am guessing that to make the oic of brad show under stats I make a rectangle box where I want him. I then made it a movie clip. Now I am putting the code: If _root.brad=true (then show the pic) I am lost on how to make it show the pic of brad.
I am trying to access a .Net service which requires an authentication header. If WebService is used it works fine. But when it is accessed using HTTPService it throws error. The project is already done by somebody else using HTTPService. Now changing to webService requires some time since there needs to be modification in a lot of files.
