I have an issue with an asmx service I am trying to access. No crossdomain file. I read there is a way around this using HTTPService instead of a webservice. Still cannot load the wsdl. See code below.
var dataService:HTTPService = new HTTPService();
dataService.url =
"http://flexmappers.com/proxy.php?url=http://www.server.net/carbon.asmx";[code]....

I have a flex application which collects data entered by the user and posts it off to a web service I have running on a back end server. The flex application does not authenticate users (it's available for anyone to use without setting up an account) and communicates to the web service using HTTPS. There is an XML firewall in place for preventing certain malformed requests, DoS attacks etc and the web service validates all data received from the client.
If I was to sign the content then I could use the XML firewall to verify the signature but I assume that any certificate type data I embed in the client could be extracted out of the flex app through some means of de-compilation. My question is, is there any way of limiting calls to the web service to only those from my flex client? I understand that a user could input bad information but I'm really trying to prevent another client or 'bot'.

I am building a little Flash app that will consume some web services over HTTP. When I am in Flexbuilder and run my app there, it works fine. When I goto to my FlexBuilder project on my OS and double-click on it, it works fine. When I zip up my bin-debug file, I get this error:
Security error accessing url faultCode:Channel.Security.Error faultString: 'Security error accessing url' faultDetail:'Destination: DefaultHTTP'
So I googled that and got information on about the crossdomain.xml file. Well, I can't put a crossdomain file in the service I am calling, but I can put one somewhere else. So I put the following lines in Flex app:
Security.allowDomain("vx1391");
Security.loadPolicyFile("http://vx1391:8080/job/Remote%20FIT%20Runner/ws/trunk/flash-cross-domain.xml");
[Code]....
Which I know is bad in a prod enivironment, but right now I just need to get this working locally but outside of FlexBuilder.

We recently built a new dev server for flex builder and installed coldfusion 8. We currently have everything working on our old server using coldfusion 7. We copied the services-config.xml and our project over to the new server. It compiled fine, I updated all references to the new server. When I try to run the flex application I receive the following error:
Warning: Failed to load policy file from http://localhost/crossdomain.xml
* Security Sandbox Violation *
Connection to http://localhost/flex2gateway/ halted - not permitted from file://ourServer/folder/ourProject/bin-debug/ourProject.swf
We created a valid crossdomain.xml file on the localhost (which I wouldnt think would be necessary since everything is on the same server)

We build prototypes and demo applications in Flex 4.5.1 and AIR 2.7 for mobile and desktop use. These tend to involve a large number of full-screen .PNG files. Lately we have been looking at ways to segment our code for flexibility and multi-screen re-use. What suggestions do people have for segmenting the project and libraries such that compile times are minimal and images are easy to replace?

Flex Builder 3 provides support to generate actionscipt from WSDL via the GUI ( Data->Import Web Service (WSDL) ) - but this sort of method requires that you check in the generated source. This is not desirable to us (we understand both sides of the 'should generated source be checked in' and we have decided that they should not) so we would like a method to generate the actionscript classes from an ant task. In this case, the WSDL would live in the file system.

As part of a nightly build i want to automate the generation of action script classes like Flex does but in an automated fashion. So I'm looking for an equivalent tool to flex builder 3's Import Web Service functionality, but accesable to a Hudson nightly build using ant.

How can I disable crossdomain.xml check when the executing swf has been loaded on localhost?
Error #2044: Unhandled SecurityErrorEvent:. text=Error #2048: Security sandbox violation: http://localhost:2541/xxx.swf cannot load data from http://www.com/xxx.swf.
I want to assign full trust to the HTML5 web application running locally. I want to disable any crossdomain checks.
Some external servers do not provide crossdomain.xml for their hosted SWF files.
I am running locally. I want to have full trust for debugging purposes.
How do I do that?
I will not consider AIR as it cannot be used from HTML5 application.
Adding the url "http://localhost:2541/xxx.swf" to "C:UsersArvoAppDataRoamingMacromediaFlash Player#SecurityFlashPlayerTrustu.cfg" did not help.

I am experiencing a strange problem when I want to bind a service to a button or something else:
[Code]...
I can add the services to the Data Services panel but I have two strange things:
1) when I want to configure the return type he doesn't let me create a new ValueObject type, I only get the bottom datagrid which states: Properties returned by the operation: Property: country_Id, provence_Id, city_Id, id_cdpc, district_Id with the related values on the right side. Why can't I create a new data type on the top?
2) When I accept this and want to add the service call to a button (drag&drop) I get the following error: Error occurred while generating code. Make sure that there are no compiler eroors and try again after reopening the file. Componentn type services.cdpc.CDPC not found... (ps: When I perform a Test Operation everything seems to be ok, I get the expected output values)

I have a flex app that loads a WSDL at runtime and shares that across several different web services I have defined. Unfortunately each call to loadWSDL() makes a network request for it, and while it's not really a problem due to caching it's still annoying and wasteful to have all those requests generated. Is there a simpler way to solve this problem and only make one network request?[code]

I know I started a topic with a similar name a couple weeks ago, but this is actually a different question.
I have a crossdomain.xml file in both my server's root and the working directory:
<?xml version="1.0"?><cross-domain-policy> <allow-access-from domain="*" /></cross-domain-policy>
I have a flash file that is connecting to my server using Socket:
sock = new Socket('[ip address]', 80); Everything works perfectly in Flash, but the swf file throws this error:

WSDL defines a number of datatypes supported by web service . Is there a documentation stating the various equivalents of those datatypes on flex side. In general for any language that we use to consume web service, how do we get to know the equivalent datatypes of the wsdl types.
One of the web service that I am consuming is returning base64Binary (an image binary data) , What is the equivalent datatype of this on flex ?

I'm trying to consume a .Net web service of mine in a Flex Builder 3 project. The function's signature in the service is:
bool MyFunction(Enums.Channels var1, Enums.Payments.PayMethods var2)
I tried importing the WSDL with the wizard but when I tried to call the web service it results in an error stating
"Cannot marshall type "http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema::EnumsChannel"to simple type"
What kind of object do I need to create in Flex Builder 3 to pass into the webservice so that it will recognize it as the appropriate type? The wizard is not correctly creating the appropriate type. Here is the xsd for the enums.
<xs:schema xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:tns="http://schemas.datacontract.org/2004/07/My.Shared" elementFormDefault="qualified" targetNamespace="http://schemas.datacontract.org/2004/07/My.Shared">
<xs:simpleType name="Enums.Channels">[code]....
I'd like to try to build my own objects to call the service myself (without the wizard).... created the mx:WebService and mx:Operation but not sure how to handle the enum parameters.

I am using the XML/MX/Syndication libraires and getting a Security Error #2048 error. The error seems unreasonable to me in that there is no forward solution to it on the Internet. I have tried hardcoding security methods in AS 3 and also using a crossdmain.xml file in my root directory to no success. I am about to give up and use pure PHP. There should be a more simple solution to this.

I have written a simple upload component in Flash, but I am now having issues in uploading due to a Security Sandbox error. I now know this is due to the fact I am uploading from one domain, to another, but 1, this used to work, 2, i have implemented a cross domain xml file by placing it in the root of the domain I'm serving from. There is also the following code at the top of my movie that used to work:
System.security.allowDomain("*"); Here is the plan, upload from admin.subdomain.serveraddress.net to serving.serveraddress.net, but it doesn't work

Preface: I'm using Flash CS4 Professional for the Mac, AS3 and Flash Player 10.
I have an RSL (runtime shared library) SWF that contains bundled classes which I store in an online location. I also have another SWF that access that runtime shared library in order to instantiate it's classes and use their methods/functions.
Here's the code of the RSL:
Code: Select allpackage {
import com.thisCompany.customClassOne;
import com.thisCompany.customClassTwo;
import flash.display.Sprite;
[Code]......
I've also tried putting the code Security.allowDomain('*') (from import flash.system.Security) in the RSL SWF and it doesn't work.
what to do to let my my host SWF properly access the objects and methods/functions of my RSL in another domain?

In this application, I am using a webservice to retrieve data.As this webservice as not a fix location URL (depending on where customers installed it), I define this URL in a config file.When the Flex application starts, it first reads this config file, then I would like to use the value I found to initialize the webservice.But currently, I have no idea how to this.

I hope this problem would not waste your time. I use Adobe Coldfusion 9 to create CFC to to interact with database. Generally, CFC can be generate WSDL by itself. for example:[URL]..
The WSDL was generated well. But the problem has been found when I tried to use Adobe Flash Builder 4's Data service to generate service class to connect ColdFusion's WSDL.
If you tried to invoked the remote function that return primitive data type as int or String, it works correctly.
