my flex application sends a few concurent requests on startup. Sometimes it takes a lot of time to fetch them all so I've set them requestTimeout param to 5 secs. Additionally, I've defined a method that handles fault events. I'd like to resend a request when timeout occurs.It doesn't work though. Could you take a look at the code?
protected function fatalErrorOccuredInfo(event:FaultEvent):void

I'm using Flash Builder 4 Beta 2. I have it connecting to a PHP service. The way I set this up was using the wizard, so I didn't actually write the code to connect to it.[code]...
One of the functions that I'm calling fetches users from a MySQL database. There are about 30,000 users right now. The service seems to timeout when fetching more than around 22,000 rows, I get the "Channel Disconnected before an acknowledgement was received" error. If I call the PHP script from a browser, it fetches them all with no problems at all, however. I have tried increasing the timeout in the PHP script (which didn't work), but obviously this isn't the problem since the browser is able to pull them up with no problems.

I have a Group screen component with some Path elements inside. The Group has a (default) style, and the Path has a (default) stroke. When the program starts, (on initialize) loads from a server (via HTTPService) some data that includes different styles for the Group, and it may also include different color/width for the Path stroke. If the styles/stroke attributes are not included in the server response, then the component will be shown with the defaults.

Flex HTTPService faults end up wrapped in a fault object that seems to obscure the actual returned text. Right now, I return a custom 400/409 error response to service clients that contains useful information about the cause of the error, which I'd like to have displayed to that client.
How can I, given a fault event, get the actual text of the HTTP error response?

Below code is used to read a file in the disk and upload as 1MB chunks to a php server via adobe AIR application.It iterates the do/while loop till the end of the file and uploading part is handled by function getConnection. The servers returns an XML as the response.With the eventListnters currently it goes to fuction onRequestComplete when it recieves the response. Because of that issue current code exits the loop when it receives the response from the server.Is there any way that I can get the responce of the request send by the function getConnection when it calling inside function startUpload ? also hw can I define the request timeout for this single requests?
private function startUpload():void {
var localFilePath:String =localFilesToUpload[currentUploadedVideoIndex].file.nativePath;
var filePathArray = localFilePath.split("/");[code]......

my request with the HttpService class does not return any result at all in case I call the HttpService.send() method in short succession. No events dispatched.. even if the previous request has been processed successfully.I tried using a timer that does the seconds request after 100msec, and in this case it works alright.
Is this because the HttpService object does not allow multiple requests? In the API the "concurrency" attribute is mentioned, but that attribute does not seems to exist!? (in the AS class) Is there a wrapper class that queues requests? Also, is there a way to close connections? I get the "Transferring data from [server]" message in Firefox ever after the first call to resourceManager.loadResourceModule().

Preparing request
Sending request to the backend
Receiving a response from the backend
Rendering the response
How can I measure time from the start of step 1 to end of step 5?

I am loading some XML with HTTPService in Flex. It is taking longer than I would like to load. So I want to do some trouble shooting, but in order to tell what is making a difference I need to be able to time the requests and how long they are taking.
What is the best way to time an http service to see how long it took from HTTPService.send() to HTTPService.result

I have java remoting services(more then 25) on my (Tomcat BlazeDS)server which are called from my Flex client application.I need to collect stats on them like how much time each service is taking(total time).There are three approaches I can do this in my opinion(may be more)
1) change each service and add timer at beginning and ending.bad practice
2) I can also use AOP but I feel its an over kill for this requirement.over kill
3) servlet Filter. Good option

I am building a little Flash app that will consume some web services over HTTP. When I am in Flexbuilder and run my app there, it works fine. When I goto to my FlexBuilder project on my OS and double-click on it, it works fine. When I zip up my bin-debug file, I get this error:
Security error accessing url faultCode:Channel.Security.Error faultString: 'Security error accessing url' faultDetail:'Destination: DefaultHTTP'
So I googled that and got information on about the crossdomain.xml file. Well, I can't put a crossdomain file in the service I am calling, but I can put one somewhere else. So I put the following lines in Flex app:
Security.allowDomain("vx1391");
Security.loadPolicyFile("http://vx1391:8080/job/Remote%20FIT%20Runner/ws/trunk/flash-cross-domain.xml");
[Code]....
Which I know is bad in a prod enivironment, but right now I just need to get this working locally but outside of FlexBuilder.

I'm trying a simple tutorial of retrieving RSS feeds from yahoo and keep getting this error: RPC Fault faultString="Security error accessing url" faultCode="Channel.Security.Error" faultDetail="Destination: DefaultHTTP" I've seen some articles that say I need a crossdomain.xml file, but I don't really know how to set this file up and how to use it from the Flex SDK compiler (mxmlc).

I get a vague "Socket timeout." error on occasion when I am loading my site. I make various HTTP requests for PHP data and also am using a Loader() class instance. Can anyone shed some light on where this error might be coming from? I wish there was more of an indication of where the error stemmed from...
Here is my code that I am using.There are multiple problems going on, but the most important is that catch{} catches an error on first load. I have a fade in function that only works if the loader is fully loaded and I know that all of my URL links work, so it can't be that.

I've got to invoke a RPC service, and all the parameters sent are String. It works quite well when the data is relatively small, but when one of the string grows to the size about 10 or over hundred KB, immediately after the service is invoked, it goes to the error handler:
[FaultEvent fault=[RPC Fault faultString="Error #2006: The supplied index is out of bounds." faultCode="InvokeFailed" faultDetail="null"] messageId="85CF2FB3-E79D-779F-87F9-B04520318D3A" type="fault" bubbles=false cancelable=true eventPhase=2]

I need to pass a struct and a string in a web service. I am using a WebService components to do so.upon my search, there is no struct type in actionscript and so I used a class for that one.
public class UserInfo{
public var name:String;
public var dateAdded:Date;
}
and I'm filling it up so that I can pass it on the web service like this:
var newUser:UserInfo = new UserInfo();
newUser.name = "myName";
newUser.birthdate = new Date();
webServComponentId.operationToCall(newUser, "password");
Upon sending this request, it prompts me an error of Error #1088.
the component that is being called by webServComponentId.operationToCall(newUser, "password"); is this:
<s:WebService id="webServComponent" wsdl="[PATH OF WSDL HERE]" >
<s:operation name="operationToCall" result="functionToCallWhenResult(event);" fault="Alert.show(event.fault.faultString)" />
</s:WebService>
Basically it is a web service via MXML. So when I call the operation, it always go to fault part and shows Error #1088

I am experiencing a strange problem when I want to bind a service to a button or something else:
[Code]...
I can add the services to the Data Services panel but I have two strange things:
1) when I want to configure the return type he doesn't let me create a new ValueObject type, I only get the bottom datagrid which states: Properties returned by the operation: Property: country_Id, provence_Id, city_Id, id_cdpc, district_Id with the related values on the right side. Why can't I create a new data type on the top?
2) When I accept this and want to add the service call to a button (drag&drop) I get the following error: Error occurred while generating code. Make sure that there are no compiler eroors and try again after reopening the file. Componentn type services.cdpc.CDPC not found... (ps: When I perform a Test Operation everything seems to be ok, I get the expected output values)

I have been getting the following error occasionally when running my flash file.Error #1502: A script has executed for longer than the default timeout period of 15 seconds.at Sr_fla::CenterTemperature_10/frame2()After the error occurs I can dismiss it and the error will not reoccur unless the flash file is closed and reopened - even though I am running the same code over and over.I have traced out all of my loops and feel confident there is not and infinite loop.I read a note on the forums that mentioned this error can occur when a large calculation takes place.I am doing some semi-complex calculations. Maybe that is the cause. Below I have posted some snippets of code from my work. Essentially I have a script which tests a variable (CenterTemperature) to make sure it is within certain bounds.Then a looping movieclip reads the variable and scales another movieclip accordingly.[code]
