Flex :: Get Correct Y-axis When There Is A Vertical Scroll?
Aug 17, 2010In flex, I am getting the y-coordinate in the following way:
nextHBox = HBox(ingBox.getChildByName("ing" + nextId));
nextYAxis = ingBox.localToGlobal(new Point(nextHBox.x,nextHBox.y)).y;
newCanvas.x = nextYAxis;
nextYAxis gives me the y-axis and I use it to position new component. It works absolutely fine. But, when there is vertical scroll, and I scroll it a little bit, and then the above mentioned code places the component at wrong place. I believe, it has something to do with the scroll.
Date :: Comparing Two Date Values In ActionScript - Compare Whole Day Values?
Sep 4, 2011I need to be able to compare the number of whole days between two dates in ActionScript, is this possible? I'd like to test if one date is 7 days or less after today, and if so is it one day or less (if it's before today this also counts).The workaround I have in place is using the .time part of the date field:
// Get the diffence between the current date and the due date
var dateDiff:Date = new Date();
dateDiff.setTime (dueDate.time - currentDate.time);[code].....
As I say - this is only a workaround, I'd like a permanent solution to allow me to check the number of whole days between 2 dates. Is this possible?
Flex :: Chart Not Displaying Right Values Along X Axis?
May 25, 2010If the below code is run (i know the cData sections are not visible in the preview, something causes it to be ignored).
The result does not represent the data correctly.
1. Flex ignores missing date 24 aug for DECKER.
2. It wrongly associates 42.77 to 23-Aug instead of 24-AUG.
Is there a way in flex, where the x-axis is a union of all available points ?

Flex :: DropdownList Does Not Show The Correct Values
Sep 7, 2010I have a Flex Spark dropdownList in which I need to show the Provider FirstName,LastName:

But the output shows only [object Object] & [object Object] as there are 2 providers in the DB and does not show the actual values.

Flex :: Why Do Charts Axis Values / Labels Not Show Up When Using Runtime Share Libraries
Nov 10, 2009I have developed a flex application using the data visualization components. I am now trying to optimize the application and one of approaches I am trying is to use Runtime Shared Libraries.I have configured Flex Builder to deploy with Runtime Shared Libraries and have added the .swz file for the framework, datavisualization and rpc share libraries. After deploying, my application loads, however my axis values within each of my charts are missing. The axes themselves are shown, however they do not have their label units displayed. The series themselves are displayed too.I have tried this using the 3.4 SDK and also the 3.2 SDK within Flex Builder. I also tried compiling flex using the mxmlc ANT tasks and got the same results.I made sure that the framework RSL is getting loaded first and I also made sure that the global flash cache has been cleared before I tested.I can see from my access logs that the .swz files are getting loaded the first time I make a request for my application, so I am confident that I properly cleared the flash player global cache.
Does anyone know why my axis values would be missing only when I deploy with RSL??? Switching back to Merged mode, my application works fine and it is only when I deploy with RSLs that I get the issue.I have also tried to compile using only the framework RSL and not the datavisualization or rpc RSLs (keeping them in merged mode) and I get the same results, no axis values.

Aug 28, 2010I am trying to show BOTH the date and the time in Flex 3.5 Stock HOLC (high, open, low, close) Chart. This data shows up but not in the correct format... Problems:
1. The time are out of whack.. they do not line up with proper time.. (is it because they are not military time)?
2. The dates (days) do not show up on the bottom labels are all, is there a way to make this happen?
3. The times show up with large gaps... in the 24 hour period... Is this always the case when the data is not there for the time? Or, can I disable specific time periods like is possible with "disable days"

Php :: Free Charting Control With Date Axis?
Aug 9, 2011Is there a free web control (serverside php or clientside flash or javascript) that can take a set of datapoints with timestamps (possibly with gaps or at irregular intervals) and draw a chart that would automatically scale the date axis? If there are a few datapoints hours apart then the chart would draw each datapoint. If there are thousands that span a year, it would draw month grid. If there are gaps - it would interpolate.

Flex :: Change Values Of Custom Skin At Run Time?
Mar 5, 2011I have built a basic theme for my Flex app. I would like to add support for additional predefined themes. By default, app has a theme and I would like it to change when user selects a theme from dropdown list. This can be done by loading a swf file using styleManager. However, all the skins have colors hard-coded in them. So, in order to achieve this I would have to duplicate skins and change value of the colors.
Is there a better way of doing this? Can I just have a skin that will change color values dynamically based on user selection?
