Php :: ZendAMF Have Private Members?

Jun 9, 2009

I've worked with AMFPHP for a while, but with Adobe supporting ZendAMF, I was wondering if I should migrate.

One of the major disadvantages for AMFPHP is that class mappings need to be public, so not only does that mean public members on the PHP side, but also on the Flex side. I was wondering if it is the same case for ZendAMF.

Actionscript 3 :: Class Has 50 Private Members Of The Same Type?

Jan 18, 2012

I have a class which deals with a lot of visuals, which essentially are movieclips. So I have around 50 privately declared movieclips in the class. Would it be a good idea to put them in a dictionary and retrieve them by their name (as key) , put them in an array or just leave them as they are?

My issue is the visual look of my class right now with that many private members, looks like a mess visually.

Flex :: Asdoc - Add A Comment To Some Elements In A Document?

Nov 21, 2010

I want to add a comment to some elements in a Flex document, and process the comments using ASDoc. I can easily do this for the script portion, but I end up with a ton of ugly "This property can be used as the source for data binding." messages for each element I declared in Flex. Is there any way to embed a comment into a flex element so that it can be read by ASDoc? I have tried using the standard

<!-- -->

notation, but that didn't seem to work.

EDIT: The notation seems to be swallowed up as an HTML comment..

Private Function And Private Variables In Flash?

May 25, 2011

there are classes definitions where all their methods are private my question is why are they private, because i've tried a code wherein i changed all the private access modifier to public and nothing changed!

what if you make an instance of that class with all its method private, how are you be able to access that on another class. coz i know private methods are only accessible to the class where they are declared! will the instance of that class be able to access the superclass's private methods!

on private variables, it's still not clear to me as to why make a private variable and then use a getter and setter, when you can simply make it public! are these variables called static?cause on the way i understand it private functions and private variables are static?

Flex :: Asdoc Throwing Errors For MXML Component That Includes A Separate .as File?

Jul 27, 2010

I have an MXML component that includes a .as file with

<fx:Script source="myfile.as" />

Running asdoc throws a whole bunch of errors like

"Error: The private attribute may be used only on class property definitions."
"Error: The public attribute can only be used inside a package."

Solution 1 is to move the AS code into the MXML file. Kind of defeats the objective of using external .as files for MXML components in the first place, so really a last resort option. Code inside a mxml file is messy (I really don't want logic mixed in with mxml), and would also require using the < !--- ---> asdoc syntax.

Solution 2 is to have the MXML component inherit from a normal class file. That would mean no private members in the base class, only internal (meaning a separate package for the component to be safe) or protected. This would make things tedious to say the least.

Are there any other work-arounds or possibly a beta/nightly version of asdoc that fixes the problem? I am using the Flex 4.1.0.16076 SDK, the "latest production quality release".

Update:Just tried using asdoc from the svn trunk, (4.5.0 rev. 16942) and the problem persists.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Private Class Not So Private?

Nov 26, 2006

Okay so you've got your private vars in your AS2 Class, you think they're all safe right? Wrong.

Doing a trace(MyClass.myvar); will spit out an error that the var is private and you can't touch it.

But a trace(MyClass["myvar"]); will work perfectly fine. You can use it normal, without any setters getters outside the class.

Is there a way to protect against this? I think this is a huge security flaw. I know it's simple OOP, but a private var in an object should have rules.

Flex :: Index Syntax ('content['xxx']") For Accessing Members Of .SWF?

Dec 14, 2010

I was actually looking for the adobe docs online that would cover syntax like the following:

SWFLoader(event.target).content['wrFont']

That's from my own code, so obivously I know it works, its just that after 2 years of Flex programming, I have still not encountered any sort of formal documentation on the rules governing this access method (i.e. like in the above where I'm accessing the wrFont member of the loaded SWF via an array index syntax and a string.

Specifically, it would be things like, determining if the referenced member even exists - what would be the standard method for doing that (Surely not just a try-catch block right?). But not just that, but formal Adobe Documentation on all relevant aspects of the above. I've downloaded all zipped adobe docs off of their live docs site - where is all this fully documented.ON a side note, something that's always bugged me about google, is that with a search string like ".content[" it just ignores the "[" character as irrelevant, though if I could just find that search string I would have my answer. But google doesnt search for characters like "[" evidently. Neither does Bing. Does any search engine do this.

Flex :: Call Private Method In It?

May 15, 2010

I need it in FlexUnit to test private methods. Is there any possibility to do this via reflection by using describeType or maybe flexUnit has some build in facility? I dislike artificial limitation that i cannot test private functions, it greatly reduces flexibility. Yes it is good design for me to test private functions, so please do not advise me to refactor my code. I do not want to break the encapsulation for the sake of unit testing.

Flex :: List Private Attributes Of A Class?

Jun 11, 2010

I try to serialize objects with their private attributes, in Flex.

The introspection API does not seem to allow it:

Is there another way for an instance to know the name of its private members?

ActionScript 3.0 :: ASDoc And Getter/setters?

Nov 15, 2009

I'm finally reading up on commenting code with ASDoc (http:url]....) but the way ASDoc is set up doesn't seem to agree with the way I write my getter/setters.Here is how I write them:

Code:
//I want to add the ASDoc tags here, before this chunk of code
private var _enabled:Boolean = true;
public function get enabled():Boolean[code]...

if I ad the tags where I want them, if I understand correctly, they will comment the private variable instead. Bummer.So, either I change the coding style I have been using for the past three years, or insert the tags inside of my code, making it ugly and less structured. I'm leaning towards option A.how do YOU write your getter/setters so they are ASDoc friendly?
