I'm working on this flash site This is my first time using the loadVars command, so I'm guessing I'm doing something wrong with it.I have a movie clip that acts as a window, it has an animation of popping up, once it does it has a text box in it thats set up to display html. It then loads the html from a txt file, which works fine. The problem is, when the user clicks on another page, the window pops out, starts over from the beginning and pops in, this time loading a different txt file for the html. This also works, however, if you select the text or click on it at all and then switch the page, anywhere you click next will make all the text in the box vanish. You can click and hold onto the scroll bar and scroll down, but the second you let go it vanishes.

I can't think of any reason why this is happening, and all of my debugging attempts have failed.
Every time I get to frame 15 of my first scene, Error 1009 pops up in the output panel.
TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.

i'm trying to integrate with a plain http service which has both http/https flavors available for consumption. sadly they never thought of a flash client consuming these services and it will take another 6 months to roll a crossdomain xml policy file on their service (there security team has to approve the process, pm team has to include it in their roadmap and blah blah). i've already implemented the flash client which works fine from a flash ide security sandbox. is it possible to get around this crossdomain policy requirement.
my flash file will always be hosted as [URL] and i will be communicating with [URL]. i'm saying [URL] because they do some loadbalancing at the backend and allocate random servers on connection (which is fine from their server side design perspective). I am very new to flex, i have created a simple login page in flex and created a webproject in Eclipse having a jsp page. i have put that jsp page in tomcat webapps. Now when i run an application of login from FlashBuilder it runs fine as i have given the ip e.g [url]... and passing it as a url in HttpService and it worked fine. but when i put my login.swf file in webapps same in that folder where that jsp resides and un e.g [url]... it displays the page but when i click on the login button it gives me with this error "Security error accessing url"

View 1 RepliesI am building a little Flash app that will consume some web services over HTTP. When I am in Flexbuilder and run my app there, it works fine. When I goto to my FlexBuilder project on my OS and double-click on it, it works fine. When I zip up my bin-debug file, I get this error:

So I googled that and got information on about the crossdomain.xml file. Well, I can't put a crossdomain file in the service I am calling, but I can put one somewhere else. So I put the following lines in Flex app:

I've got a Flex application running on a JBoss server, with dev/QA/production environments. The application needs to coordinate with some other services, also with QA/prod instances. Currently I'm sending the current URL in via javascript values, like this:

Does not work. The difference is that the HeaderBackground is a class in the same project as the css file. That does compiel fine if I move the style into my mxml file though.
I wonder if the compiler uses different source paths when compiling the css fiels or something. This is in FlashBuilder 4 build 269271 SDK 13963

I'm making a system to upload photos to a gallery. I'm using filereference, and it's working alright. I can upload like 20 files fine sometimes.. but when I do like 50, it starts giving me errors on over half the files.
The error is: Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2038: File I/O Error.
This may be a php error, or server error, I'm not sure. Because the file isn't even uploading at all.

I have developed to applications in flex. The one application constantly retrieves data from the internet, while the other can be opened and closed when you want, both apps use the same database. The problem is that at random I get an Error #3119: Database file is currently locked. Is it not possible to have two stable connections in a Adobe AIR environment?

Is it at all possible to try to open the URL in Flex first and check the response's HTTP status or Content-Type, then if it's a PDF file and not an error pass it up to the browser to display the "Save File..." dialog?

I am trying display values in a datagrid in my application. I have all the values as an xml file. I had only one set of record n the XML file, to fill only one row of the data grid. While trying to store the values from the XML file to an Array Collection in the application File using the code, i.e.,

Well I have a problem with accessing my components within a movieclip I've cooked up all the code for my gameplay to work fine, which it does, but when I add all of these components to within another movieclip and try and access them from there(using dot notation), they cease to work. It has a 1009# error also. The game components (e.g. players, background ect) are within the double player map.

Recently a client with IE9 reported a complaint that she's not able to upload files. can see the error generated is IO Error #2038. The adobe documentation says 2038 is File I/O Error.This error occurs when an application can't get file size, creation date or modification data using the FileReference API.
All i can think of is browser issues like, browser cache, some new configuration in IE9 am unaware of or permission on the client directory.

On it's own the carousel works fine, it's only when I import it that it throws an error, all of the components within the carousel work fine (the images are highlighted on mouse over, the onclick code for the thumbs runs the right functions) it's just the scrolling that doesn't work.I've tried removing the references to stage from the loaded swf but I still get the same errors.I'm fairly new to flash but I'm finding the error messages to be fairly unhelpful at the best of times, I've attached the swf I'm trying to load in in a zip
