Flex :: FLVPlayback Component Freezes When Seeking Beyond Loaded Content?
Mar 12, 2010
I'm creating a flex-based video player, using the FLVPlayback component (imported from Flash Pro CS3). I've reskinned all of the player controls and linked them in, and it's all working really well...However, if you try to seek beyond the point where the video has loaded (it's using progressive download), the video completely freezes. You can no longer pause, play, seek to somewhere else, or anything. I understand it can't actually play a point in the video that hasn't been downloaded, but the whole thing seems to just become unresponsive
This code takes the value in a clicked cell within a List and positions the playhead on the frame indicated by the value. The label is a simple string and the value is the name of the named frame.I know that I need to use an event listener,
I was told there is a server technology that allows user to seek to a part of video that has not been loaded yet even if I am using progressive download, not true streaming.
I was wondering if there was a way to get the sound from a FLVPlayback component and manipulate it with using a custom volume slider? Within my Actionscript I currently have this code which enables me to control the volume of a MP3:
import fl.events.SliderEvent; var mysong = new music(); var myChannel:SoundChannel = new SoundChannel(); var myTransform = new SoundTransform(); myChannel = mysong.play(0,10);
[Code]...
But Instead of using the MP3 for sound, is there a way to use an FLV's sound instead?
I want to create a flex web page. Basically I have some menubaritems at the top and when I click at one of the dropdowns from the menubar, the component would change to a page with different content.
I'm attaching an MC to the timeline and within that attached MC is a LoadVars.sendAndLoad command. This works flawlessly when I have a few variables but becomes horribly bogged down when I have to send (and receive) lots of data. It actually freezes my swf until all the data is loaded, then switches windows <minimizes itself in Win XP> after it's all done loading. I need a way for the original attach movie to finish loading, before I send the PHP commands...
I am trying to define the content area of a custom component that extends mx:VBox. The component has predefined headers and footers (visual children) and I want to set the area in the middle for adding children to the component. The component will be used like this:
I am trying to develop a custom component to act as a divider.
[Code]....
I would like to use this component to assign objects like this:
[Code]...
Unfortunately, this does not work. I get a compiler error saying: In initializer for 'left': multiple initializer values for target type mx.containers.Canvas.
I have custom components which must adjust their text content based on space constraints. For example a component adds labels until there is no space, and then the content of the last label becomes "(x more)" I do not have access to size of child controls before adding them. When in updateDisplayList, I make changes to the layout of the component, but for labels, lblInstance.text property fires events, which lead to updateDisplayList being called again. I know that updateDisplayList may be called more than once, but if there is a way to modify text without triggering events, that'd be really useful. For example, setActualSize method in UIComponent allows this kind of modification. Anything similar for text controls? Or do you have best practices for laying out and managing text content, in the context of custom Flex components?
I have built a flash game. It seems to load fine. I have a landing screen that clicks to the first question. At the first question I can mouse across the answers, but it will not progress. In addition the music does not play. After a few minutes it does play and plays each time. If I empty my cache file it does the same.
I have an application where I try to load an external SWF. So, we have: My application: The Stage's dimensions are 768x1280. ScaleMode = EXACT_FIT. External SWF: It's another application where its stage is: 800x600. ScaleMode = EXACT_FIT.
The problem is that the external SWF does not modify its size although I apply "scaleX, scaleY", change its width and so on. I also tried to insert it into a Canvas container (as "How to resize an external SWF to fit into a container?" ) but it didn't solve my problem.
The interesting piece of code is when the external SWF is loaded by my application: private function onLoadedApp( evt:Event ):void{ stage.scaleMode = StageScaleMode.EXACT_FIT; trace("Loading Application.."); var loaderInfo:LoaderInfo = evt.target as LoaderInfo; loaderInfo.removeEventListener( Event.COMPLETE, onLoadedApp); [Code] .....
I also tried to do it through SWFLoader, but the external.swf's content doesn't change its original size although I add the "scaleContent" parameter.
Visual results I got: The external SWF is loaded on the suitable position and it "seems" to have 320x240 dim. But its width is a bit cropped, since if I stretch the Flash Player I achieve to see the rest of the external swf's stage. Besides, the external SWF never is resized although I shrink/stretch the Flash Player. It always remains fixed (if I trace its dimensions, I always get 800x600, although I visually see 320x240)- If I increase the stage's width of the main application, this little clip disappear.
I know the original Stage's dimensions are 800, and this is greater than the original stage of my application (768), but I think, when I do the resizing, external SWF's Stage have to be fitted in the container. It is fitted, but a part of the external SWF is not seen. It's like Flash Player remembered that the external SWF Stage's width were greater than my application's one...
Am working in flex video player with RTMP.How to skip the video file to the middle of a video without having to download the whole file using RTMP.Where i want to put the Video file(FLV). Red5 server location or any other folder.Where i want to put the flex project out put file Red5 server or any other server like XAMPP. How Can i skip the frames in flex using RTMP(*red5*)..
I have a flex Air program that loads external content with the HTMLLoader.Now for some reason whenever I load a page that has any flash content a blank system window pops up outside of my program. It's completely blank, all white with min, max and close buttons.If I close it any flash content I loaded stops working. For the life of my I can't figure out what's happening and there's no messages in the console and no title for the window.
private var webPage:HTMLLoader; private function registerEvents():void {

How to remove/disable link from loaded swf content? In flex I have an image component, which loads swf through "source". This loaded swf contains "clickable" links. I want to this loaded swf a simple image behave.
I have a VideoDisplay instance playing some video. When I click on the video slider (also my component) the property videoDisplay.playheadTime is set and the videoDisplay.state goes from 'playing' into a 'seeking' state for a brief moment (the videoDisplay seeks for a new position and then plays the video again). Intended bevaiour. But if I'm (or any random user) fast enough, I can set the playheadTime again while the player is still in 'seeking' state. When repeated several times every click is enqueued and the videoDisplay jump on every place of the video I have clicked(this is happening in an interval about 10-15 second after my last click). When I use live dragging the videoDisplay, overwhelmed by seekings, goes into 'error' state.My question is - is there any way to cancel seeking state of the VideoDisplay class? For example player is in 'seeking' state, I set playheadTime, and the player forgets about last seeking and try to find the new place of the video.
I'm about to start a project where there will be a Flash application where the visitor customizes a profile with externally loaded images and texts. Then the visitor needs to be able to download that profile as a dynamically created swf with all that external content baked into the swf.
How to remove a loader and its content using removeChild or any other way, I had removed the loader but its content still playing in the background i know that from the sound of the content.this is the my code for removing:
I know nothing about flash but this is what I am doind with CS5 Adobe Flash Professional:1. Import video. I type in the server location of my .mp4 file.Now when I save it and embed on a webpage it loads and works perfect, however it is not looping. So my question is in adobe flash professional what do I need to exactly?
Im using the FLVplayback component for a project im doing. I want to add the time elapsed and time left on the controls. I dont really want to create my own controls, as im happy with the flv playback component. The FLVs playing in the component are external and are loaded into it via as3
enter code hereI am loading an external swf into an component. It loads everything fine and I can see buttons working in the swf, I can add a movieclip to the but I can't then access that movieclip (or don't know how), and it keeps telling me numChildren = null when I try to trace it out. This is set up as a custom component like this:
I have tried numerous things but when I insert the FLVplayback Component into flash that is linked to an external video source the fullscreen function will not work but the video plays as needed.
I am working on AS3 project using Flash CS3. I have to display some videos using FLVPlayBack component. I am using the same component instance to display videos but when a new video is loaded the max duration property does not updates and hence the onComplete event is never fired. I somehow wanted to refresh the component when a new video is to be played.
I imported the flvplayback component on-stage in one frame and gave the instance a name of hv.If a button takes the movie to another frame, how do I pause the flv at that point
What are steps to do unload a flv file after clearing necessary memory used for its loading and also to remove the FLVPlayback component.his is the code i have used for creating FLVPlayback component and setting its source.
public var m_flvPlayer:FLVPlayback; m_flvPlayer= new FLVPlayback(); m_flvPlayer.autoPlay = false;
Publish to Flash 8 and using the FLVPlayback component as part of a larger elearning course.We have a legacy pause button that works by recursively looking through every item on stage and if the item is a movieclip following its children and so on. Something like this (there is more to the whole thing, but this is where the problem is):
findCurrent = function (obj){ // RECURSIVE SEARCH FOR MOVIECLIPS for (var i in obj) { if (typeof (obj[i]) == "movieclip" && obj[i] != obj) { if (obj[i]._name == "pauser"{ continue; } var m = obj[i]; m.frameWas = m._currentFrame; isCurrent.push(m); findCurrent(m); } }};
The issue is that when using the FLVPlayback component the 256 recursions limit is reached. I'm guessing that the video part contains a reference to playback controls skin and the playback controls skin contains a reference to the video part and the recursion just goes round and round till it hits the limit and then all actionscript is disabled for the rest of the file.
I thought of adding a counter, and that is probabaly a good idea, but I was wondering if there is anyway to identify that I've hit a video player and stop following it?
Obviously the topeof(myVideoPlayer) is coming back as "movieclip" or I wouldn't be getting this problem. I don't think there is a getQualifiedName for AS2, right? I looked at the properties and couldn't find one that said, "clearlyVideoPlayer."
I'm using the FLVPlayback component to play a movie. In the parameters, I'm setting volume to "8" where the default is "1".This works great and gives me the right volume setting, but if the user touches the volume slider (which I'd like to keep), the new maximum volume is only one.
I have an array of videos coming from an XML doc. I am getting the name of my video in the trace statement okay, but am not sure how to go about loading the FLV video into the player.I have an FLVPlayback component on the interface named "video". The video I'm going to load will be ("videos/" + videoArray[0]))
