With autoHide set to true I would like to have the skin show when a video is loaded then fade away after a couple of seconds.
View 5 RepliesIs it possible when publishing a Flash CS4 file to have the Video swf and the Skin swf be in one swf file? I have a Flash CS4 (AS2) file that has a FLVPlayback Component. When I publish or test movie 2 swfs are output. I need only 1 swf as I am then going to insert this 1 swf into a Captivate 4 project. When I insert the video swf by itself into Captivate 4, I do not have a play bar/skin. If it is not possible to publish as one swf, how I can insert the 2 swfs into a Captivate file and get them to work?

This is kind of complicated so if you got lost I am going to say it again a bit simplerly.I have three buttons, and when you click each a box moves to the correct size.I am trying to get a textbox that will fade in once the box has moved, proably about 3 seconds, and have the textbox a different size depending on the button.When another button is clicked, it should fade out, and then the box should move.You should understand what I'm trying to do when you look at the FLA. By the way, the textbox is going to have dynamic content from either a mysql or xml database.

These are then linked through to separate movie instances that display relevant information regarding that number and then go back to the random numbers. There are options to randomly display text from an external file, but not library objects within the same movie. I have a cobbled together version using scenes and timeline animation, but it's repetitive. It needs to be more random and effective as a visual element.

I'm using the default CS4 FLVPlayback skin, mainly the SkinOverPlayMute.swf. I know there's a skinAutoHide option, but because I don't want it to auto play, I want people to see a play button when they first encounter the video (so they don't think it's just an image). But the skin needs to hide when the video is actually playing (so the video doesn't get blocked by the controls).
In other works - when video isn't playing: skin showing; when video is playing: skin hide.

I need to get access to the buttons inside an flvplayback skin. After a bit of googling I've come across several solutions for AS2 but it doesn't seem to function in a similar way. I know skin_mc is a private function of the flvplayer but I can't for the life of me figure out how to access it as an object that retains its properties all I get back is a string with the path to the skin swf.d.

View 2 RepliesI simply have one FLVPlayback component in the background and a movieclip on the layer above with an FLVPlayback component inside it. The first FLV component is constantly looping a five-second video. So all I need is for the movieclip containing the second FLV component to load the right file, fade in, and when the video ends, fade out. Absolutely all of that works... apart from the fading in. What I noticed was that my movieclip was fading in correctly, but the FLVPlayback component was empty and transparent until the fade had finished - then it played the clip. Here's my code, which gets called at random intervals:

I have a sporadic bug where sometimes when a video is played the video doesn't show up for about 10 seconds but the audio is there.

On my homepage, when I enter, I want only the flash to appear first while the rest of the content is being loaded in the background. Once the flash has loaded, display it for 5 seconds then fade out to reveal the content. Is this possible with jQuery?

In that frame is a flash movie that contains the video that I have embedded onto the timeline for the movie. The filesize for this project is massive and I am struggling to work on the file. I tested the video.swf both - both the html doc and the swf file and the skin is in each.I uploaded to my web server the following:1. video.swf,2. skin.swf3 video.html. and4. the AC_RunActiveContent.jsAll are in the same folder.When I goto the url the the video.html is located I do not see the skin ... on line.

View 3 RepliesI'm rather new to AS3 and have been tasked with a project, the project requires reading in values from an XML file created by PHP, this works fine if the XML file is available, and is just being updated by PHP, however, when flash calls the PHP page that creates the XML file for the first time, it doesn't give PHP enough time to make the XML file.

when i select the source file it's looking for .flv files and not the mp4 file so the mp4's are greyed out.i read a great tutorial using a pc which shows the workaround for being able to see the mp4 files.url...I'm however using a mac and this method of putting an * in the file name box doesn't work on mac.
Is there any way to read cue points from a flv which i load intro a netstream object? I dont want to use a component.
View 1 RepliesI have developed a video player using Flash 8 Professional and the FLVPlayback component. Recently I have been testing a few 720p .mov files converted to FLV by FFMPEG running on an encoding server. I am noticing that these files do not play back in my video player. It appears that they do not have any audio attached to them but when I play them in Adobe Media Player the audio is there.
Is this due to the FLVPlayback component in Flash 8 not supporting HD videos? When I test locally the video picture plays with no sound but when I run in a browser the video freezes and does not play. The progress bar appears to move as if the video is playing however.

I have made a short movie which I intend to loop on the web using Flash CS3. I found setting up the FLVplayback component really easy and currently have the .swf playing my external .flv perfectly. Now I need to figure out how to loop the movie - seamlessly if possible. I found this video tutorial, but it appears I can't add actionscript to the FLVplayback component in CS3, and the parameters bit doesn't seem to have a option for it. I heard elsewhere that the best way to seamlessly loop a movie in Flash is to embed the movie. Is this true? If so, how do I go about doing this?
View 10 RepliesI've got a video I'd like people to be able to navigate away from in my project, but resume where it left off if they come back to it. I would think I could do this by just saving its current position when they exit that frame as a variable and then using .seek() to go back to that spot if/when they return.
The only problem is that I can't find any script to capture the current position. I tried .time, but it gives me an error.
What is the differences in use of these two objects? Which one should be used for a "Youtube-like" video player with a custom skin and playlist?
View 2 RepliesMy Challenge is this...To feed up to 5 video references (filepaths) into the SWF which contains the FLVPlayBack component, and have these play in sequence automatically.
Once the first video ends, the next begins...Currently our FLV player takes 1 filepath passed by FlashVars and play it.
First things first... I just want to get the function of having one .flv file play after the first has finsihed... do I need some kind of listener?
I'm creating a flex-based video player, using the FLVPlayback component (imported from Flash Pro CS3). I've reskinned all of the player controls and linked them in, and it's all working really well...However, if you try to seek beyond the point where the video has loaded (it's using progressive download), the video completely freezes. You can no longer pause, play, seek to somewhere else, or anything. I understand it can't actually play a point in the video that hasn't been downloaded, but the whole thing seems to just become unresponsive

I have attached a video on a frame of my website in Flash. When I preview the movie the film plays as it should.But when I export the Fla. as a Swf. file it then doesn't have the movie there anymore?It does show this error:

I really don't know what that refers too.
1) I want a 60 seconds video to start playing after 40 seconds have been downloaded - to do that I set the NetStream.bufferTime to 40 seconds and retrieve "NetStream.Buffer.Full" event causing the video to really start playing. This step is OK.
2) However, the "NetStream.Buffer.Full" causes data to stop downloading. So the remainder of the video begins to download no sooner than after the 40 seconds have been played. This step is my issue. Can anyone tell me how to avoid this unintended effect? (i.e. playing a video and downloading data at the same time?)
