ActionScript 2.0 :: Series Of Four Numbers Appear Randomly With Fade In And Out And Stay On Screen For A Couple Of Seconds Each

Feb 13, 2008

I need to have a series of four numbers appear randomly with fade in and out and stay on screen for a couple of seconds each. These are then linked through to separate movie instances that display relevant information regarding that number and then go back to the random numbers. There are options to randomly display text from an external file, but not library objects within the same movie. I have a cobbled together version using scenes and timeline animation, but it's repetitive. It needs to be more random and effective as a visual element.

I am trying to create a timer to fade in a dynamic textbox that is a dfferent size depending on the button. This is kind of complicated so if you got lost I am going to say it again a bit simplerly.I have three buttons, and when you click each a box moves to the correct size.I am trying to get a textbox that will fade in once the box has moved, proably about 3 seconds, and have the textbox a different size depending on the button.When another button is clicked, it should fade out, and then the box should move.You should understand what I'm trying to do when you look at the FLA. By the way, the textbox is going to have dynamic content from either a mysql or xml database.

ActionScript 2.0 :: [FLASH 8] Transitions - Dynamically Loading Images That Stay On The Screen For X Amount Of Seconds

Mar 17, 2006

I am using an external actionscript file, and I have dynamically loading images that stay on the screen for X amount of seconds (the user can set the value of x), then it loads the next image. However, this user would like for there to be a transition, For Example, have it fade out and have the next image in line fade in after the image has been displayed on the screen for X amount of seconds. This user would also like a loading bar, much like the one on the flash banner here: [URL] between each image transition.

I also have it so when someone hovers over a button, the flash banner stops, once they rollout X is reset to 1 and starts the counter again, and sets the movie to play at frame 1. Here is the actionscript file: [URL]

ActionScript 3.0 :: Make It Wait For A Couple Of Seconds?

Feb 23, 2010

I'm rather new to AS3 and have been tasked with a project, the project requires reading in values from an XML file created by PHP, this works fine if the XML file is available, and is just being updated by PHP, however, when flash calls the PHP page that creates the XML file for the first time, it doesn't give PHP enough time to make the XML file.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Series Of MovieClip Buttons - Stay Downstate When Clicked?

I'm using some classes that apply to a series of movieclip buttons I found. I'm using the classes to get the buttons to rollover and when clicked stay in the down state, when another is clicked the previous button goes back to up state. The rollover works fine however it doesn't stay in down state when clicked.

Here is the code I have so far, I'm also open for substitute classes that will do the same thing.
ActionScript Code:

public function ButtonClass() {

ActionScript 2.0 :: Fade A Series Of Pictures One After The Other?

Oct 27, 2007

I want to fade a series of pictures one after the other, such that they'll loop around. I'm calling this a cascade. So to do this, i've placed all of the image names into an array and I set all of their alpha properties to 100 to begin with. I think I then need a for loop that will iterate through the images, fading the image down to 0, waiting for a set period of time and then moving on.

Unfortunately, mcTween will fade all of the images at once in the for loop, so I need to prevent a tween from starting until the one before it has finished. I thought I could achieve this using a while loop and the isTweening property, but when I try and preview the flash movie it just gets into a recurring loop and the program hangs, and has to be exited.

If I run my function (placeRing) it drops a circle on the stage, which then swells until it fades away at the appropriate point. When I rely on setInterval to run the function for me, however, things no longer work. A trace statement in my function is displayed as expected once a second, but the movie clip isn't placed on the stage. I'm sure I'm missing something simple, but I haven't been able to figure it out.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Randomly Display All Text And SWF For 60 Seconds

Jan 8, 2004

I am trying to make a banner like item for a website I am working on, I have 1 external text file 4 external swf's and 1 external .jpg that I am trying to get to do this: On page load display img1.jpg for 60 seconds and then randomly select a number and then display the file that is associated with that number, for 60 seconds, and do it again, and again until all of the text and swf files have been displayed and then start over from the beginning,
Now I can get it to select a random number and then pull up a file that is associated with that number with this code. I have shortened the time to see it work but still no avail

Code:

ActionScript 3.0 :: Randomly Generating Numbers Between 0 And 12

Feb 2, 2011

I Have started to learn AS3 from scratch and have decided to create a simple maths game for small children. The game consists of multiplication and division. I have everything working accept for this one last thing that I'm just not sure how to tell Flash what to do. Basically there are 2 text boxes that randomly generate a number between 0 and 12. The 3 box is where the user enters their answer. They press check and the code checks to see if box 1 divided by box 2 equals box 3.

However what I want to do is ensure that only whole numbers are used and that the number can actually be divided. I told I need to use this method but I don't know how to implement this in Flash AS3. "For division, the trick is to generate the question, but make sure that the product of the two random numbers is actually displayed in the first box (product / rand1 = rand2) otherwise you get difficult sums..."

Here is my current code:
function divSetup(){
displayRandomDivNumber();
}divSetup();
var divQuest1:String;
var divQuest2:String;

ActionScript 3.0 :: Randomly Generating Numbers And Using Them For Math

Oct 5, 2011

I m doing a project and had an idea of doing a math game thing where numbers are randomly generated in two slots. For example one is between 1 and 100 and the other the same, and then adding them together. The player would have to add them together then type them into the the answer box and it would tell if it was correct or not. I need help with the coding as I am new to CS5.I have worked with an older, outdated version of flash a little over a year ago. So I somewhat know general things and some of the things that need to be done. Actionscript though is pretty new and I was trying to use math.Random because thats what it seems like everyone is using in their tutorials. Yet, I couldn't get it to work when playing around with it.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Movie Stay On Screen

Sep 8, 2009

What I am trying to explain/do is to take a movie and not only have it follow a guided layer, but also to have it not dissapear.So for example, I have sucessfully made a movie move around a path as I broke some letters in to symbols and created a guided layer out of them.However I don't want the move to keep dissapearing and initializing as it transverses the path.To better explain this, please check out the online example: UrL...Now instead of holding down the mouse button and having the movie of hearts just keep compounding wherever the key_pressed mouse goes to, Imagine the hearts coming to screen as the movie goes through the guided layer so as to spell out a word. Here is the minimum that I think I need and I have edited it below and tried change the "mouseX" and "mouseY" to something such as flashmo_group.X and flashmo_group.Y but the resulting effect does not follow the path.[code]

IDE :: Character To Stay In Center Of Screen?

Sep 30, 2009

i want a character to stay in center of screen and where ever we click on the page the character goes there , i mean that click position comes to centre with ease and we can also navigate map like age of empires, or DOTA but in that case character stick at its own position to map.

Im not flash developer so i dont know how to do this but i can do designing. I am attaching a fla with this pls do this experiment with that fla file so that i can understand it easy. Being a non programmer it is tough to understand these things for me. those brown sections in this map would be colusion areas , where we cannot move character and blue is river. so we cannot move character to river too.

randomPics = random (pics.length);

I just don't know how to fade them in and out. I grabbed this from a fla that faded pictures in and out using buttons

Code:

if (this._alpha <= 100) this._alpha += 5 ;
else this.onEnterFrame = null ;
