Flex :: Flex S:datagrid Sorting Doesn't Seem To Work?
Feb 18, 2012I'm using Flashbuilder 4.6 and can't get sorting of columns in my s:DataGrid to work, clicking on the columns does nothing. Can anyone suggest what is wrong?

Oct 28, 2010If I set the properties of "buttonMode" and "useHandCursor" to true in DataGrid, it does not work as I expect. Only if I move the cursor to the edge between two rows, the hand cursor displayes.
What I expect is that no matter where the cursor is moved, it should always show hand cursor.

Flex :: Datagrid - Flex AdavcedDatagrid Sorting Is Case-sensitive
Jul 27, 2010I have several datagrids with changing columns. For the text fields the datagrid's sort function neems to be making a case sensitive compare. eg. the following list sorted would look like this apples strawberries Autos Autos should be with apples but since the capital A is counted differently all capital letters come after. I've found a lot of information on setting a CASEINSENSITIVE flag, but I can't figure out where to do this. The best solution would be one where I can override the default behavior to be case insensitive for all my datagrids and all my compare functions.

Jul 2, 2009I have a column with 4 fields named : a> Main, b> Forward c> Back d> Link, if I use pre-defined sorting of datagrid with the column names which will be alphabetically, then the order is c>Back b>Forward d> Link a> Main. But, I do not want to sort based on the alphabets. I prefer to sort by names of the column fields. i.e. somehow give priority to each individual column field names. Like pre-define my own order.

Aug 18, 2010I'm creating a table that displays information from a MySQL database, I'm using foreignkeys all over the place to cross-reference data.
Basically I have a datagrid with a column named 'system.' The system is an int that represents the id of an object in another table. I've used lableFunction to cross-reference the two and rename the column. But now sorting doesn't work, I understand that you have to create a custom sorting function. I have tried cross-referencing the two tables again, but that takes ~30sec to sort 1200 rows. Now I'm just clueless as to what I should try next.
Is there any way to access the columns field label inside the sort function?

But after that, if data values are changed in any row of datagrid, sorting is applied automatically. How to prevent from this behaviour? i.e. sorting should only be applied if user clicks on any header of datagrid and sorting should not be applied when user modifies data in grid.

Mar 7, 2012I have an item renderer tied to an mx:DataGrid column. The renderer used to be inline with the column, but I've moved it out to its own file so I can reuse it across multiple tables.
The problem is that now the renderer doesn't resize (grow/shrink) when the column is resized. So if the user makes the column very small, the contents displayed by the renderer just eat up space and show up over top other columns

Php :: Does Flex 3 Datagrid Paging Work
Dec 12, 2009How does paging work, must Flex load in all the database records to determine how many pages to generate? Let's say I have a table with 10,000+ records and want to split it into pages of 10 records per page into a datagrid component. Does Flex load in the complete 10,000+ records, or just some of them? I would like to use PHP and AMF on the backend.

Flex :: DropDownList Doesn't Work In New Window
Oct 29, 2010In this code I'm creating a new window when I click the button. In the new window are TextInput and DropDownList components. When the new window opens, clicking the DropDownList does nothing - you have to click it a second time round to get it to open. However, click into the TextInput field first and then try opening the DropDownList works no problem.

Flex - Httpservice Doesn't Work On Localhost?

When I run the resultant flash file on my remote server, it works 100% and test.text gets populated to "successful". However, when I run it on localhost test.text is still blank. If I check my network monitor in Flex, the httpservice was successful, so crossdomain.xml seems to be set right ...what am I doing wrong? I've been spinning my wheels for some time w/out a clue.

Flex :: Image SmoothBitmapContent Doesn't Work?
May 10, 2011recently I got a jagged image problem when scaling. I set my image components smoothBitmapContent true, and it works properly the first time, but if I reset the source, the images return jagged. It seems like the smoothBitmapContent property has been changed to false, but it doesn't work even if I set it to true in run time.Here's is my code:

I simply use a custom Image-extended class and switch smoothBitmapContent on, and I set the image's source in run time.
Flex :: RichText Doesn't Work With Bullets?

Flex :: TextArea Scroll Down Doesn't Work
Sep 1, 2011I have a TextArea that shows the conversation from selected chat room. For valueCommit event I use: verticalScrollPosition = maxVerticalScrollPosition; And it works fine scrolling text to the bottom. However in one case it doesn't work as expected. There's verylittle text, so TextArea has no scrollbar and then I put a lot of text and a scrollbar is necessary. The text is scrolled almost to the bottom (still a few lines need to be scrolled down). I am pretty sure it gets maxVerticalScrollPosition as if there was no scrollbar. So the question is how can I wait with updating verticalScrollPosition with respect to TextArea's new size (that is now with a scrollbar). I tried calling validateSize and other methods that start with 'validate' but unfortunately with no luck. I also tried the old trick of putting caret at the end of text. So the TextArea's scrollbar makes a difference when getting maxVerticalScrollPosition and I need to update verticalScrollPosition once all measurements are done. I forgot to mention. I use htmlText.
