I am trying to access html files protected by basic authentication. Below is the code to do that but I still get the authentication dialog. I checked the fiddler and found that for the first request authorization header is present but for the subsequent requests which is requested to load the .js, css & images the authorization header is not added. This is the reason I am getting the auth dialog.
Is there a way to add authorization header to the subsequent requests as well?

When Flex application make an asynchronus HTTP request, does it add a special header to the request, like some JavaScript framework does? Something that indicates whether this request is an AJAX call/not.I just want my server side code to return different response format, depending on whether the request is made from browser/flex.

In Foo, I make a URLRequest and listen for the Complete event. Then I found myself with the returned data in a Foo function, but I have no idea how to communicate it to the .mxml part of the application ! So, my problem is, how can I implement an interface so my module can send and receive data from my main app?, cuz, I understand that my module implements an interface that is used by my main app.. but, can I do it "viceversa"?
Other issue I have is, why do I need to call my main app children if I can just import a module's class?.
I have a NavigatorContent which is displayed when the user selects an item in a DataGrid. This NavigatorContent contains a form and an accordion displaying the related objects.
When the user presses the Save button in the NavigatorContent the form and the children should be saved to the database by calling the server through BlazeDS:

The object that i pass to the accordion children is public and [Bindable] in the NavigatorContent and in the accordion children and is initially passed from the main DataGrid. May this be a problem relating to this issue?
I have application with a viewstack witch load 5 modules. each module is loaded via the moduleLoader tag and they all have an id.
Every loaded module has a context menu. the context menu has 5 menuItems. one menuItem for each view for the viewstack.
The context menu is loaded via xml.

I would like to use FlashVar to enter the "xml/TEST.xml"; portion so I can keep reusing the SWF file and only have to enter a FlashVar in the HTML to point to the data. I have some users that are not Flash programmers and it would be easy for them to past the HTML and only have to change the FlashVar line to point to their XML file, as opposed to having to get me to hardcode it everytime.
I have a FMS 3.5 running a VOD service (on-line training based on videos) on what I call a "streaming server". The client loads the Player from a secure (separate) domain, and the Player then requests the SMIL files from the webroot of the Apache server (part of the FMS installation. The Player then starts the video which is streamed dynamically.
In order for the Player to get the SMIL files, it is making a crossdomain.xml request to the Streaming Server. When it get the response, it continues the process. PROBLEM: Sometimes, the crossdomail.xml response from the Streaming Server is SEVERELY delayed, with perhaps 5 minutes. So the end user experience is that it does not work.
I improved the situation by opening up more ports on the Windows Firewall of the Stremaing Server (now open for 1935,80,443,8134) and it works say 90%+ of the times. But there are still occations when there is no response.

I'm using FlowPlayer to replace an existing FLV player on my site that plays videos from Amazon E3. I have many pages and each should show a different video. For each page, I have a value stored in my CMS that is the "streamName". The stream name corresponds to a flashvars paramenter in the object/embed tags that show the video player:&streamName=my-great-video
On my new player, I'm able to get the video using a URL similar to [URL] How Does Flash (or Amazon???) know to add in the .swf extension? There are several video formats used on the site, and the current player works with them all... But, as I mentioned above, on each page the value store for the video (ex="my-great-video") includes no extension.
Is it possible to retrieve flashvar parameter in mxml code and if so how? Up to now i have been using Application.application.parameter.name to get what i need.

I am using an accordian in which has three childs. Each child has some textInput elements.Now,i want to send data written in currently selected accordian's child's textInputs.I have created a function "configure" which is called when someone clicks a button. That function checks as to which child of accordian is selected. Whichever is selected, the textInputs' text of that child are stored in locally defined variables.how to pass these variable to the HTTPService i am sending at the end of function configure.

I am creating an AIR application using Flex. In it I use a file in application directory to store some data in it.Its working very well to read and write data to this file with various OS except windows 7. In windows 7 it is not working. May be its a permission problem.

i'am developing a flex media player that will be include in a simple html file. my project plane is:
1-loading a xml file (using HTTPService)
2-find the sound address in the xml (Using E4x)
3-load the sound

when i run it with adobe flash builder or generate a release version, it works fine. but when i use the flash file in my html file it's xml loading process doesn't work!
after some try , i realized that if the swf file be in the flash builder workspace directory, it work , else it doesn't work.
note that my OS is Microsoft Windows 7 32-bit
what is the different between the workspace directory and usual directories?

I want to use vkontakte's new wrapper feature, that enhances your application abilities by running under SWF wrapper. This is a sample application that uses this mechanism. It uses pure action script to display it's contents rather than an mx:Application.
Using the wrapper on my mx:Application failed due to the following error:

Unfortunately - it also failed, and the question remains, how to start Application from a simple AS file?
We are writing log files to File.applicationDirectory and want to clean out old log files. The question is how do you delete files out of that directory? When I try and delete old log files out of this directory it gives a security exception. Is there anyway around this? I know you are not supposed to write to File.applicationDirectory, but we are writting are logs there anyways.
