Flex :: Remove TitleBar From Spark WindowedApplication?
Mar 25, 2011How do I remove TitleBar from Spark WindowedApplication?
View 1 RepliesHow do I remove TitleBar from Spark WindowedApplication?
View 1 RepliesI have made a custom ActionScript mxml component, which is a spark TitleWindow with a text area, which header (titlebar) should display a green background if it finds the word 'success' in its text, or red, if it doesn't.
My problem is that I don't know where to access and modify this property, and the only turnaround I've found is binding the 'chromeColor' of the TitleWindow to depend on a boolean that will change depending on whether I find or not the word 'success'. And this does change the TitleBar background to the color I desire, however, it also changes the scrollbar color, for example, which is a bit nasty. The code for my class is the following:
[code]...
While I was trying to change the fontSize of titlebar of TitleWindows, the whole container changes to new font Size. But I do not want to achive this. I would like to get it only on the titlebar.The code I have used (not successful)
<s:TitleWindow name="MyTitleWindow"
xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009"
xmlns:s="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark"
xmlns:mx="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/mx"
[code]....
I am using Flex4 and Spark.
I want to remove title text from titleBar skin but I get an error if I just comment out. I assume it means it is required skin part?
<!-- title -->
<!--- @copy spark.components.windowClasses.TitleBar#titleText -->
<s:Label id="titleText" minWidth="0" maxDisplayedLines="1" width="100%" />
I tried setting it to text="" and text="random text" but no effect. If I set a value in Main application it works but not for empty string.
Right now it shows applications name presumably from "Main-app.xml" file.
How can I get rid of it?
Edit 1: TitleBar Skin
[Code]....
I'm having issue where the titleBar event listener is override the buttons (i.e. close button) event listener. In my codes, i have a button called close button added to the titleBar. when i try to do the mouse over/out event listener for titleBar and close button, only the titleBar would react. It seems that the event listeners for titleBar are overriding the button event listeners. (Basically i want to change the mouse cursor icon when targeting the title bar and then different mouse cursor icon when targeting the close button)
View 5 RepliesI create 3 TitleWindow:[code]And then I manage those position and depth using mouse. Now I want to delete them by depth.In my TitleWindow add listener:[code]
View 4 RepliesMy stakeholder has a request to remove the currently selected item from the DropDownList control(s) in the application. For example a drop down with [item1, item2, item3, item4] if item2 is selected then the only items in the drop down will be [item1, item3, item4]
Using Flash Builder 4 with Flex 4.0 sdk
My goal is to remove all hover feedback from the UI. The motivation is for testing touch interface prototypes and not wanting users to have the queue of interactivity when the mouse hovers which they won't have with a touch interface.
I have a partial solution but it has two problems:
Requires an event handler on each component. Flickers on hover.
protected function ui_suppressHover(event:MouseEvent):void
{
var b = event.currentTarget as UIComponent;
[Code].....
I'm trying to remove all line breaks from the text that is pasted into the Spark TextArea.
I have:
<s:TextArea id="inputSearchQuery"
width="100%" height="22"
[code].....
for some reason this flex 4 code gives me an error but I can't figure out why. In my WindowedApplication I have:[code]That seems like a bogus error since I can assign pref.bounds to rect without an error. I don't know why this isn't working. It works under flex 3 compatibility mode but that also breaks a lot of my spark components so I can't use it.
View 1 RepliesI'm developing an AIR application, where i need to access WindowedApplication's function from the package class. This is the Main application (Partial code)
<mx:WindowedApplication xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml"
layout="absolute" creationComplete="initApplication()">
<mx:Script>[code].............
In order to set a background image for my Desktop Flex application, I created a custom skin class, setting the skinClass property to my custom MXML skin. The host component is SkinnableContainer. I use a bitmap image for the custom MXML skin. Everything works fine, except that it's drawing over all my components. How do I get the skin to draw in the background? Should I move the Bitmap markup to somewhere else in my skin file?
View 1 RepliesI have implemented a chromeless windowedapplication in flex 4. But doing so i noticed that all the maximize, minimize and even the ability to drag the window around is gone. I need the ability to drag the window around. I have done a lot of googling and have been unable to come up with anything.
View 1 RepliesI am trying to create an AIR app that you can maximize and when you maximize all the components contained in the windowedApplication are scaled with the containing windowedApplication.
At the moment when you maximize the window all the components just stay the same size.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<s:WindowedApplication xmlns:ATE="http://ns.adobe.com/ate/2009"
xmlns:ai="http://ns.adobe.com/ai/2009"
[Code].....
I'm using Flex 4.5, and I have imported a custom class I wrote into the main MXML file.
Inside the class file, I want to be able to create a TitleWindow using the PopUpManager like this:
package classes {
import components.*; // My custom components
import mx.managers.PopUpManager;
[Code]....
This is because this isn't pointing at WindowedApplication. How do I make the first parameter in .createPopUp() point to the WindowedApplication?
In my application,showFlexChrome is set as true in WindowedApplication,and the *-app.xml is setted as follows
<systemChrome>none</systemChrome>
<transparent>true</transparent>
<visible>true</visible>
I know how to make the top border rounded corners with follow codes:
borderStyle="solid" cornerRadius="8"
But I cannot find a method to make the bottom border of my app window rounded-corner.
It's interesting. If you set stage.scaleMode = StageScaleMode.EXACT_FIT; all components are resized when you resize the window, BUT there is a grey stripe at the bottom of the window that is not.By the way, is it possible to take that grey line/stripe off from the window?Try to resize this window and you'll see what happens:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <s:WindowedApplication xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009"
xmlns:s="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark"
xmlns:mx="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/mx" xmlns:local="*"
[code]....
There is also a timer just for checking if the Stage's size is the same as the application window's one.
I have quite some experience with Flex and I am just starting to write my first AIR application and would like to use as much Spark as possible here. So I started withe a simple Hello World application:
[Code].....
Unfortunately this simple example shows no child components and even none of the initialize handlers is triggered. However as soon as I change the root tag to mx:WindowedApplication everything behaves as expected: The label and the button are shown and the console shows the output of the two trace statements.
I have a renderer that looks like this:
[Code]...
Loading thumbnails using this method works perfectly. The issue happens when you scroll the List.
I'm looking to add a couple of buttons to the title bar of a Spark Panel or Spark TitleWindow. Is this possible to do without making the panel from scratch?
View 1 RepliesHow do you remove the header row from a Spark DataGrid? MX DataGrid had the attribute "showHeaders" but this doesn't seem to be present in the Spark DataGrid.
This seems like it should be a very easy task, so either I'm extremely dense or just missing something? Do I have to create a custom skin for my DataGrid and remove the header parts? That seems like overkill or is it the Flex / Spark way?
How do I access the "WindowedApplication" class in Actionscript?
View 1 RepliesI've got the whole dragable thing down but I can't figure out how to drag a panel window by JUST it's title bar, not the whole window.
View 3 RepliesI've been trying to dynamically change some text for a titlebar that is behind a mask However, I find that when I change the text of the dynamic text field (whose containing movieclip is masked by a graphic), the text no longer appears at all. When i remove the masking, the text changes properly when asked, but when it it masked, the text does not show at all.
View 2 RepliesI've got some javascript that calls an AIR function. This AIR functions creates a new HTML element and adds it to the "Stage" like so[code]...
View 1 RepliesI am working on a drag and drop feature for the sparkScroller. This is sort of how my layout looks:
<mx:Canvas>
<s:Scroller id="items" .. />
<mx:Box id="dummyRow" visible="false" />
<s:View id="touchView" visible="false" />
</mx:Canvas>
So when you hold your finger over a row in the items Scroller for more than a 30 seconds, the touchView becomes visible so does the dummyRow. The dummyRow gets populated to look like the row which you held your finger over.
So the touchView has the event handlers for moving your fingers and places the dummyRow where your finger is. The problem I am having is even though the touchView is reacting to my move events, the scroller still keeps reacting to my move events as well even though it's a sub layer. Because I started on the scroller it still keeps track!
How can I remove focus / tracking from the scroller?
I have a spark skinnable component which contains a datagroup with images. The datagroup is scrolled by hovering the mouse over it. Everything works fine except one thing: after I change the datagroup provider, I need to scroll down automatically. The problem is the images are not loaded immediately after I set the provider so (contentHeight - height) does not yet represent the actual maximum scrolling position. Is there an easy way of telling the datagroup to scroll down as its content loads? Because the workaround seems to be not so straightforward. This is the code for scrolling(thumbnailStrip is my datagroup):

I have created a style in which i am defining a font family.When i apply this style to label it reflects the font were as there is no change when it is applied to a spark button.I Tried various way to Apply font style but it doesn't work.Other properties work fine except font family. Even i tried creating skin class and set the font family style of label in it. While previewing the skin i can see the changes but when i apply it to buttonApproach 1
@font-face{
src:url("HARNGTON.TTF");
fontFamily: MyF;

How can you display a multi-line column header using the Flex Spark Data Grid for Flex 4.5?
View 5 RepliesI'm creating the Label component like this
var label:Label = new Label();
label.text = "some text";
label.styleName = "someStyle";
addChild(label);
But it stay invisible until I explicit set the width and height.How can I make the label to be auto resized according to it's text?
