How can i set print time for flex printjob.
when the time is ripe my program will automatically print my job
eg. i want to print my job at 11.00 AM i will set print time in my program to 11.00 AM when time is 11.00 AM flex will automatically print my job
I want print some sprite which is created by "draw(someSprite)" method in BitmapData.Everything is fine but... I want put some margins in my print page, and I don't know how .Of course I could set right position of my "someSprite" but I don't want change my site to print it. (Using Rect... in BitmapData.draw() and addPage() dont work.) Simple flashdevelop project is in zip file.

I'm having an issue where when I try to print a larger image via printjob one of two things happens. One either the job fails or two the output of the image is literally diagonally cut off. I am simply passing the stage to the print job. I've tried both with and without using printAsBitmap.

I've made an mc with an attached txt field offstage from which to print from. The text that populates the off stage tf is all blocky and non vector looking...so are the printed sheets. I am using both html formatting and textformat formatting on the print text. It is a dynamic text field. It has this problem with both the printed result and when i peak off stage to look at the actual fields loaded with this text. I've already tried adding dummy fields offstage with the "embed" option activated.
View 7 RepliesI'm trying to load a bunch of external images, and then print them all in the same PrintJob. For testing i tried 40 images at around 599kb. I load all images using Loaders and check that all images are fully loaded (by Event.INIT) and put the images in separate Sprites.When this is done i start a new PrintJob, loop throug all my images and add them to the PrintJob, and then PrintJob.send(); At least this is what i want to do. What happens is this:

What I needed my app to do was to load a some content (text, images, and other swf files) from disk/the web and print them out. It would load all that content first, arrange it into pages and the start the PrintJob. First I tried a for loop to spool the pages, and when that didn't work, I tried an event based loop (hoping it was the for loop that was allowing for a timeout). I was using flash professional CS3 to develop and compile. I switched over to CS5 and the time out no longer occurs. The upgrade doesn't do that annoying thing where it renders the transparent parts of images in black.
I want my flex 4 application to print proper picture when I click on print in context menu of Adobe Flash Player.Is it possible?
View 1 RepliesI have looked around a lot for the answer to this, here and out on the web, I just can't believe it can't be done.I have certificates that the user fills in their name once they successfully pass the on-line course, this works and prints fine. The decided they wanted the current date and time to show up on the certificate for their records. The date and time displays correctly, but when you go to print the certificate you get the default numerals, not the date and time, once the print dialogue box goes away after printing, you can see it change back to correct day and time.

By successful I am talking about some sort of report or document or whatever.
I know its fairly simple to print a component(which is a bit cheap) from Flex by using the printJob() class and passing a component. But I want to pass an object like a list or XML to printJob().
I want to call the Flex printing API to set the print arguments before sending printing command.But there is no method in Flex(FlexPrintJob or PrintJob) to set the printing orientation.Are there some methods to solve this problem?My project is running in B/S structure and the view layer is in Flex.

View 3 RepliesI am trying to make a print button that will print the contents of a mc...this mc basically holds a dynamically drawn floorplan which can be zoomed and panned...I want to be able to print the contents of the mc, and only what is viewable in the mc at the time of the print...so if you are zoomed in, all that prints are the actual objects visibly seen in the mc...I think it may be with the print command using bmovie but I have no idea how to assign a #b lable to the frame.

I am not able to print more than 5 pages in one go. I want to print almost 12 pages in one print job. I am creating the movieclips of each page by adding the dynamic data in to it and store in an array. When all the movieclips created and stored in an array(pagesAry) then it call the following function to print those pages:

So when I do my research, we use the PrintJob or the FlexPrintJob classes.It works fine but when I need to print multiple pages since the data on my spark datagrid is quite long, I can't somehow find a way how to do it.The print output is only upto where the height of my spark datagrid.So in my research, they somehow managed it to use the mx:PrintDataGrid component.But sad to say, they did it with an mx:DataGrid also.how to use the mx:PrintDataGrid along with s:DataGrid.

If converting a spark datagrid columns to the mx datagrid columns is not possible, is there a way that I can print all the data on the spark datagrid using multiple pages?
I've set up an application to print the current state of the control I'm using (in this case an ArcGIS server map), but I'd like to set up a print function that uses it's own template to print rather than grabbing the state of the application.
I've attempted to do this by setting up a flex component that lays out the items I want to print and instantiating it when I call the FlexPrintJob. Unfortunately, simply instantiating it results in getting a blank green square.
There are two main questions about this that I'd like to put out there. First, what needs to be done to print a newly instantiated template rather than just grabbing already existing controls from the screen? Second, for more controls that need to load complicated data from multiple sources, like an ArcGIS map, is it possible to instantiate them in that kind of environment, or is there a way to take an image of the control in the application and print that?

But I have this one report that can have thousands of lines, with a custom format, Flash will slow down with this.
Is it posible to print it without showing the actual data on screen? or is there a component to print reports with custom format?
I'm using AlivePDF to create a PDF file, then save it to the desktop. I can then use an HTMLLoader to display my lovely PDF file.
Now, the print button in Adobe Reader works fine. However, there will be young children using the app, so I'd like to have a big "Print" button right above it. I figured I could just start up a print job and feed it my HTMLLoader. This won't work because the HTML loader rasterizes the content.
I have an AdvancedDataGrid and need to export it as PDF for printing. Can you suppose me some useful links or ideas on that topic?
Note : is another better sugestion that make this possible, working with Java? Need a quick response.
