Nov 16, 2010I have a Flex 4, mx:DataGrid with the following (pertinent) properties set:
width="100%"horizontalScrollPolicy="off"
I have the minWidth set on all of the DataGridColumns and the width set on one of them. If I simply maximize/minimize the display (in browser or stand-alone flash player) of the application, the columns scale up and down nicely. But if you grab the edge of the application and drag it to make it bigger, only one column grows really big. When you drag the size down again, the one column remains big, but all of the other columns get squished way down.

May 3, 2006I want to have a _btn or _mc on stage that, when continuously clicked, loads sequential JPEGs from the library via attachMovie and tween fade it in. I can comfortably do that with a _btn per JPEG but do not know how to code for one _btn for, say, 20 JPEGs.

May 9, 2004Heres my scenario, I have a menu bar that is off stage with just a little part showing. I want to be able to rollover the part showing so the whole menu eases into the stage. I have this done, however, i would like it so that when I roll off the menu bar it will ease back out.Im just unsure of how to go about this. Is there a general character length rule in working with filenames. I know windows doesnt have a problem what about other OS? Apple etc.?

Let's say we have a web application that needs to download several series of data (several thousand numbers) used by one screen.When the user leaves that screen and later returns to it (in the same session; that is, the user hasn't logged out then logged back in), should the application fetch the original downloaded data from cache or simply download it again? What are pros and cons of each and are there any general rules of thumb to follow when it comes to re-downloading data (e.g. again) versus simply getting it from cache? The goal would be to minimize user's wait time as long as there's no drawback.

Oct 16, 2009I'm working on a Flex application that processes and displays small amounts of HTML, sometimes including images. I'm getting the HTML out of third-party RSS feeds. Sometimes, I see this in a pop-up window: Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2035: URL Not Found.
The RSS URL is just fine, but there's apparently something in the downloaded HTML that's causing a problem. Since the application is meant to run as part of a non-interactive digital sign, anything that requires a click to continue is completely unacceptable. I don't care how useless or malformed a URL is; the app needs to ignore the problem without pestering the user.
Unfortunately, I'm having no luck trapping this event. I'm sprinkling calls like this liberally through the code: [object].addEventListener(IOErrorEvent.IO_ERROR, handleIOError); where [object] is everything from the mx:Text object rendering the HTML to its mx:Canvas parent to the mx:Application top-level app, and handleIOError is a simple function that looks like this:

Flex - Error #2032: Stream Error Occurring On Fedora But Not On Ubuntu
Dec 4, 2011This error has been faced by many people, as seen via internet, but none of the solutions given worked for me.
Problem:I have a flex application which I am trying to run on a Linux machine. On Ubuntu, it works fine but on Fedora following error arises when a login button is clicked.

Details:Login button actually sends username and password entered by a user to a server deployed on same machine via HTTPService. That HTTPService actually sends data to db_mgmt.php on the server which takes care of authorization of the user by querying mysql database deployed on same machine.

Dec 20, 2009I'm having trouble with an AS3 AMF RemoteObject request that is hosted on App Engine. I have a crossdomain.xml file in the root of the domain, and also one at the remoting endpoint.Here are the contents of the root crossdomain.xml:

Loading the swf file and testing it on my machine works just fine... I think that may have something to do with me having the debugger version of Flash Player. When I push it up to App Engine to make it public, other clients access it and get a Client.Error.MessageSend Channel.Security.Error error Error #2048 url: http:[url].......I am using Flex 4 beta, and the App Engine Python runtime. I have tried full wildcard in the crossdomain, and even accessing the data endpoint at a relative URL so as to avoid this error.

Sep 13, 2010I have an action script Object that contains an array collection of other object, both objects are reflects of the Java Objects which are the database tables represented as beans, i am using blazeds spring hibernate... the regular configurations for flex RIA with java backend server language, all other objects work perfectly, but this time i needed to get this data from the client side and i do, but when i get into the Set represented as array collection in client side i get this error! both classes work for other situations, mapping is ok for these classes, i suspect that i need to convert the array collection on the server side.

Jul 15, 2010which everything seems fine, but when i implement a slider on a page inside a folder in the root (i.e. aboutus/index.aspx) i get that error when the slider is trying to call the images.I have similar slider animations in pages located in the root folder and in those i get no problem at all, seems it only happens when the page is located inside a folder.The website is done using main.master on asp, maybe the cache or rendering of the website is missing something, hope someone has had something similar or know how to get around this.

What I need from this code is the following:
a. to pick up the mic activity level, read it, and based on the number put out a line
b. it to be kept to a minute, after the minute the screen is cleared and it plays back the lines and sounds that had been generated.
c. that nothing appears when the mic.activityLevel is 0
d.that when lines hit each other, a sound is made
I don't care if there is no playback, but right now I can't even get the lines to appear and I need the sounds to play when the lines hit each other.

Feb 24, 2009I'm making a system to upload photos to a gallery. I'm using filereference, and it's working alright. I can upload like 20 files fine sometimes.. but when I do like 50, it starts giving me errors on over half the files.
The error is: Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2038: File I/O Error.
This may be a php error, or server error, I'm not sure. Because the file isn't even uploading at all.
